It is sad that TC is the only Bobcat with votes.

Seriously how does Tyson have more votes then Crash?
fans should not vote for all-stars
fans should not vote for all-stars
Agreed. When players who haven't played a single game this year could potentially start there is something wrong with the system. Its obvious the average NBA fan does not care to reward great play, they just want to see their favorite player in the All-Star game.

it also makes for terrible games, when the all-star game should be just as good as the baseball all star game. the owners should all put up $400000 in a pool that gets divided evenly to the winning team. 14 players = $850k to the winners.
as a matter of fact i think the players and coaches should select, then bill simmons ideas ie. playground style picking by two captains (highest vote getters from east and west), between the 3 point and dunk contest the night before.

A call to all of Bobcatsplanet , He deserves our votes even if he don't make it.
Im commiting to voting for him for the next 37 days . He at least deserves to make the list of fowards .
If nothing else it might turn a coaches head . I FIGURE IF WE ALL VOTED EVER DAY . We could produce at least 20.000 votes . Its lots of people who visit this site.
My Rep said even some of the players are lurking around now.

The reason why i have only voted once this season and i base my votes on players who have earned it for the current week so if say Troy Murphy had a better week than say KG for example i would vote for Murphy but in any case it's futile.Seriously fucked up system though, fans should not vote for the all stars it should be left to people who know wtf they're doing like coaches, assistants and GMs. I also noted that LeBron is behind Wade which says a lot about his media "image" flaws over the off season and his refusal to even shake hands with D12 after the ugly loss in the conference finals

I would love to do a banner.......ziggy: contact me if you wanna do something like that
Does the NBA not realize how flawed the voting system is when McGrady is getting enough votes to be a starter? Anyone who votes for the NBA hall of fame should not consider the amount of All-Star appearances when deciding if a player gets in or not because earning the title of "All-Star" simply means people like you.

Even if we don't match the other votes, the coaches will hopefully notice. And by only voting for Gerald - single-shotting - that will give him some additional marginal help. This guy deserves it; he's having a monster year. I say put up a banner with a direct link and instructions.

The key is to remember that the All-Star game has nothing to do with creating the best basketball game. The All-Star game is simply a way for the NBA to show their most popular players in a meaningless game that not-so-hardcore fans will enjoy.
The All-Star game is purely entertainment and means nothing. Yeah, ideally the best players would be selected and the all-star game would be a dream match-up of the 24 best players in the world. However, Duncan is not Duncan in these games, nor is Kobe Kobe. They are in full entertainment mode with natural competitiveness occasionally kicking in, much to the chagrin of their agents.
Yes, it would be nice to advertise the team and let a productive player get his due. However, for years now the same debate has been waged. Bottom line: we shouldn't care. We know what we have.

My guess is that Hornets fans who still like TC voted for him. :g:

We don't really know that Chandler has more votes than Wallace, only that Chandler has the 11th most votes of the Eastern centers. The 11th highest vote getting Eastern forward is Luol Deng, who has 23,000+ more votes than Chandler. So... it's definitely possible that Wallace has more total votes than Chandler, we just don't know how many that is.

My Rep said even some of the players are lurking around now. GW knows we know he's an All Star in the true sense.....not in the commercial, bullshit All-Star Weekend propagandafest. I'll tell him this before a game, and ask him if he wants us to vote, lost cause that it is.
