I really hate guys like Jason Terry that hold their arms up at the end of the game trying to talk shit like "Yeah, I'm good. See how special I am?"

Dude, you were 4-19 in 37 minutes. You suck and you're old. Go sit your crinkly ass on the sidelines where you belong.

Seeing Boris fully healthy and still making boneheaded moves/messing up the offense rather than being essential to team chemistry now makes him expendable in my books.

We played "hard" but we didnt win. 9-13 is not a pace we can keep if we want to achive our goals for the season.

We made Dirk show us he's an all-star tonight. Can't argue w/ this loss, wish we could have pulled this one out but our road woes continue.

Its not his weight thats fucking us up, its his head. He is either not thinking or thinking too much (i cant decide which one it is). Either way, it ends up with him getting lost on offense and commiting a turnover.

I used to think his injury issues were making it worse, but after tonight i am no longer convinced that is his problem.

Truth is that Dirk can shoot over and score on Boris due to his lack of length. Ray can get underneath him and aggravate him. Jack can make him work with his length (Gerald likely could as well). But the best matchup for him was an unconventional one.......Tyson Chandler. Many of Dirk's struggles actually took place when Boris was in foul trouble and on the bench and other players guarded him. He could size Boris up and even though Boris played terrific positional defense on him, Dirk had him measured and worked him over. The guy who gave Dirk the most difficulty defensively in his career was Rasheed Wallace. Chandler is not Sheed, but if LB wanted to play him at PF defensively some, Dirk was the guy to do that against.

All that said, what really killed us was the poor execution down the stretch with all of the TOs, especially by Boris. I think at times we don't go by the pulse of the game and get to scripted and mechanical in what we do. It was clear that the pick and roll was working well and that Jack and Gerald were working better out of the post. And yet, we kept trying to force the isolation on the wing to Jack THROUGH Boris despite the fact that Boris was not fully in the flow and despite the fact that Dallas was HEAVILY overplaying the Jack wing iso play.

We came down 3 to 4 straight possessions and tried to run the same thing. Boris needs to protect the ball better obviously, but LB has to recognize what's going on and adjust. If he does not directly, he needs to make it clear to Felton that he needs to feel fine to audible and Felton needs to do so. Either way, those possessions of trying to force a particular play and coming up empty are what really did us in, IMO.

We lost this game for one reason. We did not box out Dampier or Marion who had 7 off rebounds each. Damp pushed TC around like a ragdoll getting any position he wanted.

GW should have given the ball to Ray on the last shot of regulation instead of driving. Ray has been on fire, we want the ball in his hands at that point.

LB should have put TC on Dirk and Naz on Damp on the last play. Diaw was helpless and you only need one stop so you might as well sub for defense.

Hard loss but good effort from our player who LB left out there way to long as he seems to not want to play the young guys on the road. Our schedule gets easier for the next little while I think we will see the team start to pick it up from here.

Tough loss can't really blame Diaw...................... ok i can. Dirk is a tougher cover as any elite scorer in the league but at least we improved after the ugly Spurs game. Not that disappointed........... shows we do have some competitive balls in us, so close yet so far......

I am OK with not calling a TO on the last play if the ball is in Felton's hand as the pg. After it was denied to him and Crash was bringing it up, I was wanting the TO to be called. At a minimum, we are likely to get a shot up. In general, I think our wings bring the ball up in transition to much instead of getting it to the pg and filling the lanes where they can be quite dangerous. It works out at times, but is not always high percentage. I don't think Crash was in a position to succeed there.

Bringing the ball up in the middle of games when teams aren't paying attention is one thing. Bringing it up on the final possession of the game is much different. LB should have called a TO.

And I agree about subbing for defense, especially considering MOST of Dirk's success came against Boris who had 5 fouls.

It's tough for Diaw to play vs Dirk. Dirk is taller and can hit the fadeaway at will. Not to mention Dirk is a superstar and brilliant. Diaw isn't a slouch on D. He did his best and I won't blame him for the loss. He held Dirk down at the start. Whether Diop would of been better on Dirk, I would say no. I have yet to see ANYTHING from Diop besides being able to rebound.

We got killed on the glass tonight. 25 to 40, not to mention turnovers. Need to keep TO's down and box out.

Positives is that Felton, G and Jax playing good. I really am loving Jax being a focal point on offense. Sure he doesn't hit every shot, but he's got a decent FG% and is a great clutch player (Loved his 3 late in the 4th...or was it OT?)

It is interesting that we were "helping" Boris in the 3rd/4th with Felton vs. Dirk yet didn't on the last play. As nasty as Terry was shooting the perimeter shot that might have been a good move. I know I commented against Felton doing that, but as you guys have noted that worked fairly well at times.

Good observation on TC guarding him best GoBobs.

Be interesting to see how Flip takes his DNP-CD.

Too bummed to comment on the game last night, so after some sleep, a Christmas pageant, and 23 hours I've gotten over it.

I agree with those that mentioned the insane amounts of offensive rebounds and 2nd and 3rd chances the Mavs were getting beginning in the 4th, and the lack of execution in the last 4 or so minutes of regulation as being the key reasons for the loss.

Admittedly, I was at a family shindig and saw during the Heisman trophy presentation the Cats were already down 18-6, and didn't think anymore of the game figuring a blowout loss. By the time I got home and remembered the game, morbid curiosity provoked me to see what the score was and somehow they were up by 8 late in the 3rd?!?! So anyway, all I saw was the last 4 minutes of the 3rd onward, and the energy was great, but the defensive rebounding and horrific TOs allowed the Mavs to keep it close enough to make that final charge. Just so many lazy passes and weak handoffs by Jack and Boris and Raymond once.

The fact is, it should've never gone to overtime, but it did, and our guys played very well, but the other team had a superstar that played like a superstar, so it came down to whoever had the ball last with a decent amount of time left would win, and unfortunately, it was the Mavs who had that scenario play out in their favor.

Got to give the guys credit for busting their asses and coming back like they did (wish I could've seen that), but it's just another familiar road loss that should've been a win. If I didn't think the guys had enough chances to put the game away, I could blame the refs on a handful of occasions (the loose ball foul by Chandler on Terry that basically gave them the point that won it, yet Jack doesn't get a similar call on the last play as Kidd pulls his jersey?), but they lost this one themselves (with a little bit of Larry thrown in....why the hell not call timeout when you see Gerald bringing the ball up and Raymond being denied?!?!?), so let's hope they can put the annual miserable Texas trip behind them and get some wins going again starting Tuesday.

Oh, how about that PA dude they have in Dallas? Hell, I thought we had it bad a couple years back with the screaming and the "Let's go Cats", but this dude was an asshole absolutely screaming at the fans, incessantly, "Let's go Mavs! LET'S GO MAVS!! LET'S GO MAAAAVS!!!!!!!!" on every Mavs possession. I don't know how the players, much less the fans can put up with that cacaphony.....lord knows I barely did.
