Somewhat looking to have a look at the opinions of my fellow BCPlaneteers on UPS and Hendo, also to have a nice good in-depth discussion with meaningful posts.
UPS:
We all see that UPS is able to play, lots of up-side and is a freakish athlete. Obviously he already deserves to be in the rotation, and is starting to get the minutes he deserves. However, do you think he's a SF or a PF? He's got a lovely 3 point shot, albeit a bit slow. I haven't seen that much of him driving, hence he isn't exactly a replica of Crash, more of a shooting version of him. Would you place him in PF or SF? Considering his height and weight, he would have problems guarding more physical alesnd taller PFs in this league i.e Bosh, Stoudamaire, Garnett, Duncan.
Hendo:
The kid hasn't shown too much. He had a game where he hit 7/8 shots for 14 points, but besides some small glimpses of brilliance, he hasn't done too much. In the sole game where he got large amounts of playing time (25 minutes), he hasn't produced too well and UPS has scored better than him. Considering he's our 12th pick, I guess I held high high expectations of Hendo, moreover to come into the league and make an impact like T. Will. Whether this is due to playing time or trying to feel for his legs, I'm not sure. Maybe I have had too much expectation on Hendo since seeing how UPS has been performing, especially his huge game in the summer league. I have been impressed by UPS constantly, but I haven't seen too much from Hendo to be "really" excited about at NBA level.
Maybe I am judging him too harshly, but I would love for him to get more playing time and see him develop. He reminds me a bit of Crash with the high-flying dunks and highlight blocks. Maybe he needs to be more assertive, demand the ball and be more vocal, as well as move constantly to try to get open. Maybe he needs to tell LB to take him off as being the 5th option on offense, and something higher. The kid can score. He showed it in Duke. Wasn't that efficient, nor was he a high scorer, but he scored decently (16 points). I don't see why he can't improve that to 20 points, perhaps higher and perhaps become a great player in the future, maybe even all-star.
A.C Law:
What's there to really say about him. Kid was a star college player, comes into the NBA and hasn't really had much of an impact. With the way Felts and St. Auggie is starting to play, he seems like he isn't going to get alotta court time. Where do you think he should go? Be traded away with Diaw for a nice strong 4? Stay and play limited minutes? He's 24, still young and is only just starting to peak. He has plenty of upside, but hasn't been able to show it. Would you trade him and keep DJ, keep him, or keep him and trade felts/auggie?
