We act as a 3rd team to facilitate a trade between Jazz an Magic. Recent reports have boozer an dwight both talking about how much they would love to play together an that they are best friends...well here's how it goes down
Magic gets- Boozer, CJ miles, Korver, lexy
Magic trade- Lewis, Bass
Jazz gets- Lewis, DJ
Utah trades- Boozer, Korver, CJ miles
Bobcats get- Bass
Bobcats trade- DJ, lexy
Why for Bobcats: our need right now is PF and with felton stepping it up lately, makes dj expendable...im not even a felton fan but diaw is playing terrible so we suck it up an make the trade....bonus= we get rid of lexy!
c-tyson/nazzy
pf-diaw/bass
sf-wallace/brown
sg-jax/henderson
pg-felton/flip
Why for Magic: they move lewis for a more traditional PF and who will gel PERFECTLY with dwight...can u imagine the duo of dwight an boozer?!? nobody has seen a force like that since the spurs had duncan an robinson! they also get depth in cj an korver, along with a project in ajjenca...a lot of teams would kill for a dwight/boozer combo, plus u have VC and nelson! wow
c-dwight/gortat/ajjenca
pf-boozer/anderson
sf-pietrus/miles/barnes
sg-carter/jj/korver
pg-nelson/jwill/johnson
Why for Jazz: they know boozer is as good as gone, so they make a move that keeps them a lock for the playoffs...rashard will move to SF while milsap plays PF, then when milsap is on the bench have rashard at the 4 an ak47 at the 3 spot...with maynor just getting traded, they get another young pg in augistine...still a very strong team
c-okur/koufus
pf-milsap/lewis
sf-lewis/ak47
sg-brewer/matthews
pg-dwill/dj/ronnie
.................................................. .................................................. ...........
im trying to do a fair trade right here...is it likely?? prolly not cuz we would have to depend on the magic an jazz to get this started but i could definitly seeing us in trade talks to be a part of a deal to bring in a PF...then we could focus on moving diaw or tyson
If only real GM's could get a deal like this done.
I'd like at least a 2nd rounder our way though, but great idea. I don't think the Jazz would do it though...

We are talking about a team (Jazz) which have just traded a valuable bench player for nothing but salary cap relief. Can you possibly imagine that they would trade 2 expiring contracts and soon-to-be-expiring (Miles, 2011 summer team option) contract for the albatross of Lewis?
Jazz is small market team, which makes them reluctant to take on any more salaries while they are still above the luxury tax limit and they have big contracts of Kirilenko, Deron and Mehmet Okur ($ 42 million total for next season).
Take my word, Jazz will not trade Boozer. Even if they will, they will be looking to take back other expirings, maybe players with 1 more year on his contract, players with rookie scale contracts or draft picks.

Won't work. No one is stupid enough to take Lewis's contract. Magic pulled a stupid move in signing him for millions more than he's worth.

a in-division trade of a disgruntled starter for a disgruntled bench player? I dont see it happening. We would be too scared Diaw would start producing again (which he would, Orlando loves point-forwards, Diaw wants to play on a winning team) and Orlando would be too scared Bass would blow up in their face (which he would, a banger/ a hard worker/Larry Brown style player).
Plus, if im Otis Smith, why would i trade for Dwight's buddy when i could just wait for this summer and sign him/not sacrifise Rashard Lewis? Lewis is a great fit, with a huge contract. He is not woth that contract to any other team, but what he provides to Orlando is invaluble. They need him.

Agree with everything BET wrote.
Agree with everything BET wrote.
agreed, especially the lewis part. they got to the finals because of him and hedo being such a tough matchup for everyone.

Diaw isn't in this trade proposal so comments about how he would do is Orlando are pointless.

haha i was just thinking that same thing...also, BETCAT u said, instead of trading lewis, why not wait till the offseason to sign boozer? how would orlando afford that?

S&T starting with Gortat.
S&T starting with Gortat.
Why would Utah take Gortat? Don't they want short contracts?

1. Diaw would have to be added in order to make this good for me. How could we realistically keep Diaw in this situation? He would need to be shipped off, and im guessing he would be thrown in. Other than that, i was tired lol.
2. I am not sure Orlando's cap situation, but from my understanding they are going to try and go after somebody this summer. Boozer seems like a good fit. You need to spend money to make money (look at the yankees). Why would Orlando want to disrupt team chemistry when they could just wait until this summer, get a guy they like (such as Boozer) and encorportate him over the summer? Dwight-Boozer-Lewis-Carter-Nelson + Pietrus-Bass-Gortat-Jason Williams-Ryan Anderson-Anthony Johnson off the bench is any/every team's nightmare.
Betcats, they don't have cap until after we do...

How much cap do they need though? They will be making huge amounts of money off merchandise + season tickets + advertisement + tv deal. Plus they would be automatic favorites to win a championship. If they win a championship, chances are Dwight would never leave. This summer, i dont know if they are getting Boozer or not, but i know they are getting somebody.

My point is the only way they get someone is via MLE or S&T.
And Boozer's only coming in an S&T for expirings, which Orlando doesn't have outside of maybe Vince.

Yeah, its highly improbable Boozer will end up their. But i think they wont nessesarily limit themselves to a mid level or sign and trade. But well shall see.

I was thinking of this summer...I don't think Utah moves Booz during the season unless it's something really good...like Crash/DJ for Booz/bad contract. Booz is an expiring by himself and their trade the other day helped them out significantly on the tax (they're still paying but I think less than half as much).
If it's this summer they'll want a pick and/or talent. I was figuring Gortat to be good talent for an MLE deal.

somebody on realgm just proposed diaw for bass, jj (expiring), and anthony johnson (expiring)
i know we would still be thin at PF BUT diaw is simply not trying anymore, or thats how it seems to me...shedding his salary AND getting a young PF sounds great to me!
what yall think?
We'd have to give up some else roster wise...maybe Diaw + Lexy for that?

we could do diaw + graham (which they might prefer because he's unguaranteed), or we could just cut graham to make that deal work.

I highly doubt Orlando would accept our crap and why would they give up JJ now he has been their best 3 point shooter this season and Bass as well..........pipe dream

JJ is horrible. I doubt he'd be anything more than filler in any trade. Nobody is going in saying, "Hey, we want Redick too."

Danny Ferry maybe

So is Diaw i don't see anybody saying the same,as for JJ he fits well in that system and is playing a lot better than Diaw at this point

9 points with no rebounds or assists in 22 minutes with shitty defense doesn't scream "playing good" to me

For his position, shooting at a 44% clip from 3 and shooting a better percentage from the field overall than Diaw.... yeah probably not.
JJ in the last 5 games averaging:
11ppg,1.2rpg and 1apg with 1TOpg.50% from the field and 49% from 3 in 23 minutes
Diaw for his position over the last 5:
6ppg,3.2rpg,4apg with 4 TOs pg.Shooting 37% from the field and 23% from 3 in 33 minutes.
Just saying i think Orlando would want more than just Diaw for Bass,Redick and AJ.

Bass is on his third team and has yet to be anything more than a bench player. I admit I got sucked in a little bit by the allure of Bass earlier this season, but here's (http://www.orlandomagicdaily.com/?p=573&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1) an interesting piece to read for those continuing to advocate a guy that has lost playing time to Ryan Anderson.

Meh, I don't think his defense would be worse than Diaw's and Ryan Anderson is a much better fit behind Lewis. He's not very explosive so I expect that the fan base would quickly turn on him amongst complaints of not dunking enough, but he would single handedly improve our FT% and would provide a lot of the same things Nazr does, just in a younger, smaller package.
I read another short glyph on Bass today that indicated he has trouble remembering plays...and that also has impacted his playing time...put the two together (nice read Amp) and I'm not sure he'd (even with the liabilities with Diaw on the floor) get any more playing time from LB...:g:
