Bill Ingram - Hoopsworld (http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=14873)
His grade for us so far = C
Considering our poor start and just now possibly "getting it" in regards to winning on the road I think that's pretty decent.
High points:
Best Offensive Weapon: Gerald Wallace has been Charlotte's most lethal offensive weapon since joining the team, but Jackson's arrival has seen him take a back seat to his new teammate.
Best Defensive Weapon: Averaging 1.16 blocks per game, Chandler is the team's best defender, and also finishes well on the break for his new team. Wallace is still the team's leading rebounder, but in Chandler the Bobcats got the true center they've been seeking since Larry Brown arrived in town.
(Heh...expect this one to generate some comments!)
Biggest Surprise: With most of the core group back, many believed the team would pick up where they left off. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
Biggest Disappointment: The Bobcats' offensive troubles have been partly due to the absence of Augustin's contributions off the bench.
Areas To Address Before The Deadline: perhaps a good place for Charlotte to start would be to send him (Gana) out to gain depth at another position.
(Interesting that he thinks we could move Gana for another servicable piece)
Overall Grade: C The Jackson trade has helped the Bobcats' flailing offense, and they're even in the playoff picture thanks to winning three of their last four games.

im sorry but this is poor journalism, the man has obviously not watched a single game of ours this season and just thought a shit "i'll have a look at the stats, that'll tell me"

Maybe he meant out of our bigs in which case that would be true.
Woody, Bill Ingram knows our team pretty well. He's at heart a Houston fan, but he actually traveled with the team some last season.
But yeah...TC definitely isn't our best defender overall.

i know that and ive read some other articles of his and ive found them to be interesting and quite fair but this was pretty poor maybe "not watched a single game" was a bit harsh but he hasnt seen many if he thinks TC is the big man we've been needing...

Not to make excuses (well ya...I am!) but Ingram told me in an email response that Hoopsworld was like the Bobcats in that the owners were trying to sell the site so he and others were being limited on what they can do this year.
I respect your opinion and it very well could be true about him not seeing much of us this season. I guess since he professes to like us I lean towards giving him the benefit of the doubt.

At a maximum, Chandler has been our fourth best defender.

Well honestly I could sorta understand that. The Bobcats website has been lacking.

From Bonnell's article on the NY game:
And they gave up 44 points in the lane defensively, which has Brown missing injured center Tyson Chandler like crazy.
"We're missing our most important player,'' Brown said. "Tyson – athletically and defensively – is that important.''
:escape:
From Bonnell's article on the NY game:
:escape:
and by most important player brown is really saying "no really, rest of the nba, he is good and can make your team a contender. please offer us a trade. anything, i'm begging you"

Bobcats vs Knicks Recap (http://www.queencityhoops.com/GameRecap010710.php) - QCH
The weakened defense has been a theme since Tyson Chandler went down with his current injury. Since 12/22, the Bobcats have surrendered 105.6 points per 100 possessions - a mark that would be good for just 17th in the league. So far this season, with Tyson on the court, the Bobcats have surrendered just an efficiency of just 99.5. While Nazr Mohammed does provide an offensive spark in the post, it is becoming more evident that works better for him (and the team) when it comes from the bench. Nazr's numbers have suffered since being thrust into a starting role: 21.4 points per 40 minutes on 59% shooting plus 12.6 rebounds per 40 prior to the move, 18.3 points/40 on 54% and just 7 rebounds per 40 since. Oh, and the team defense with him (Nazr) on the court has taken a similar hit: 103.2 before, 106.9 since. Get well soon, Tyson - Rick Bonnell blogs that Tyson is starting to improve.Remember...we were around 1st/2nd on defense.
By my count we would have won in Toronto, NY and we would have easily won the Chicago game if we'd have had a healthy TC...which would have put us on a 6 game winning streak.

i admit i hate Chandler and offensively we may aswell play with 4 players (if your actually including Diaw in that...) however his defense makes him vital in our ROTATION (he definitely doesnt deserve more than 30 minutes, luckily his foul trouble generally means he doesnt get more than 30) his defense however is strong and generally a team has a big whos strong in the paint which therefore makes his D very important and some of these L's we've picked up whilst he's been out could have easily been W's (like you said spectre) however a surprising amount of teams have got some injury problems so we cant really feel too sorry for ourselves. anyone actually know when he'll be back?

Look at it this way Woody: we desperately need a player with TC's skillset. Is he the best (esp. with his injuries)? Hell no. But him being in the lineup is better than nothing.
I loved the Richardson trade, but just imagine if we hadn't and took Noah (as the rumors suggested).

I would have renounced my fanship.
