Saturday night the Charlotte Bobcats match up with a very close knit Grizzlies squad
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w301/bobcatsplanet/08193d1aeeedfdc7daab655be72d3254.jpg
ummm, wow, that's disturbing.
Believe it or not the Grizz are playing .500 ball and are currently sitting at 17-17, They are also winners of 7 of their last 10. I'm sure that there current winning ways are all due to the inspiration that they receive from watching their very very awesome dancer Minnie shake her money maker on the sidelines.
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w301/bobcatsplanet/display_image.jpg
I'm certain however that she is the exception to the rule as far as humanity goes in Memphis. From what I'm told, most of the people there are a bunch of toothless, inbred, banjo pickin', moonshine brewing, square dancing hicks.
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w301/bobcatsplanet/hillbilly.jpg
But back to the matchup, with Allen Iverson dropping in 25 ppg for the Grizz... Wait a minute, What?!? OK, scratch that. With Mayo and Conley in the backcourt, the Grizzlies have plenty of speed and quickness but are a little undersized. Felton and Jackson should have little problems with those two. Gerald Wallace >>> Rudy Gay, Randolph has a clear advantage over Diaw ( but lately who hasn't ) and the center position is a wash.
All in all, this should wind up being a 102-93 win by the Bobcats
The Enemy's game thread (http://boards.grizzliesonline.com/index.php?showtopic=8749)
Center isn't a wash...Gasol is a gem. He's gonna be better then his brother. Their only weakness is at PG, and Randolph will kill us down low. I'm really worried about this one.
Bobcats 101, Grizzlies 99.

Awesome thread Zig!
Yah Teej, Randolph has consistently killed us and vs. the 2 headed Nazr/Gana monster combo I doubt we see anything change in that regard.
Gonna have to bring our A+ game if we want to win this one. Hopefully the smell from the NYK loss is still lingering.
Edit: Oops...Boris will be on Randolph.
...kinda scary to think what kind of "career game" Randolph could put on Meow...makes me shudder thinking about it...

I don't have a good feeling about this next little stretch. Memphis has been playing better, spurs have been playing better. I will be happy just to escape with a win.

I am expecting a 20+ point game out of him.

So true! On all points.
He made some mistakes this game (saving the ball under his own basket comes to mind), but he was still giving 110% effort the entire game.
On another note, we also would have lost the game if Flip hadn't hit some BIG 3s towards the end of the game. Props to Flip!

man gerald wallace is the man!!!!! and i cant say anything more about flip, he started off on my not like list but he has proved me wrong and is becoming a great option off the bench. i think he can get a decent look off on anybody.
Flip (and I've never said anything differently) is a solid, all-around, BB player...he gets criticized for not making the "shot"...but he has the balls to take it...

After watching that boring first half, I went to bed, I regret as hell. I missed the whole drama but whatever, Gerald is really the man. I've been watching this team from the beginning, and Gerald's basket is the first ever "real" buzzer-beater winner of the franchise as far as I remember.
This season, we might see some other firsts: First all star player (Wallace deserves it), first triple double (Diaw, Jackson, Felton candidates), first win against Dallas, and maybe the first playoff berth :D
Go Bobcats!!

Over 26 hours later and I'm still recovering from the game. More than anything else, it feels so good to be on the receiving end of one of these things to at least help exorcise demons of Ray Allen, LeBron, and David Lees past. Talk about driving home on a high......That was something else.
It was also GW punching his ticket to Dallas in February. Two huge clutch plays in a matter of minutes on each end of the court. What more can he do? No doubt, he'll find a way to show us.
Also, special kudos to Boris playing Randolph and Gasol very very well defensively. Not an easy task, but he held his own and even managed to get some boards out of it.
Exciting stuff, kids.
