Tuesday night the Houston Rockets come to town. Despite not having T-Mac or Yao the Rockets are still playing solid ball posting a 21-16 record ( 10-12 on the road ).

What do you think guys, can we take the positive momentum from Saturday's win against the Grizzlies and keep it going against a solid Rocket team?
The enemy's game thread from the absurdly gargantuan Clutchfans.net (http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=180182) ... probably the biggest basketball forum PERIOD
This is a game that we're certainly able to win, but in no way would I be surprised if Chuck Hayes and Aaron Brooks lit up the 'Cats. At least we have a size advantage.

The 'Cats are gonna have to play better than the other night. That sloppiness will not fly versus the Rockettes.

Chuck Hayes is like 6 foot 5 and is their center. I'm really hoping we can exploit that.

Yeah, 6'6.
Too bad he's better than most 7-footers...
Fred Williamson

Who cares about Chuck Hayes. We better try to limit Carl freaking Landry. Dude is averaging 16/8 in like what? 20 minutes? And then there is Luis Scola, probably the best offensive big man in the league.

1 thing that i think will kill us............pick n roll defense with Brooks and Scola/Landry whoever and Lowry who has been going off lately.

Lots of insteresting match ups in this one . I look for Brown to go small a lot in this one.
Felton and Brooks should be fun to watch as Well as Wallace and Landry , Scola and JAX
Boris and Hayes , Ariza is the wild card 6.8 Matching Flip at 6.3
This thing could go either way , Both teams match up well..
Toocool
01-12-2010, 01:01 PM
Ariza, not much of a threat if you have Wallace sticking a hand in his face. Even if Wallace's hand isn't in his face, he'll still probably miss.
Landry and Scola are two tough guys to match up against. Doris won't stand a chance against Landry, so I hope the Cats decide to put Diop on Landry or Scola to stop him, and Nazzy on the other one. I really hope that LB plays UPS instead of Doris if Doris isn't doing crap.
On the flip side, Flip is playing well, but draining playing time. Our starters are playing too many minutes. Hoping to get Hendo and UPS some burn, reduce starter's playing time by 5 minutes at least. Stop playing them around 40 mins unless we need them.
I expect good things from Felton. Felts is improving, always been a supporter of him. He isn't the best PG, but he's solid and getting even more solid.
What I am hoping for this game:
-Hendo and UPS at least 5 minutes
-Win the friggin ball game
-D.J continues to find his shot and produce
-Less playing time for our starters
-Double double for Crash
-Jax doesn't jack up too many crazyass shots
-Stop Landry and Scola
-Crash to posterise someone
-Doris doesn't play too many minutes when he's playing crap.
This would be an nice win and get us even closer to .500. Lets continue our dominance at home!

I forgot about this:
especially tonight at Charlotte, N.C., against the Bobcats, the team that signed him to the three-year, $9 million offer sheet that was matched by the Rockets before last season.
Carl Landry, just this close to being a Charlotte Bobcat.

Great effort on D in the 2nd. Great stuff.

Agreed. We give him plenty of shit when he's sucking it up...he deserves props when he brings it like he did tonight. Scola wore him out in the 1st half, but that's the type of guy that Boris is weak defending. Plus Scola's just damn good.
Huge props to our PGs and their D tonight as well. Neither had a great offensive game but they really made Brooks work for everything he got tonight.
Brooks 3 of 14 for 11 points
Lowry 3 of 7 for 7 points.

wow being down in the first half by 13 was worrying me, but the 2nd half was amazing, holding Houston to 34 points, (the same amount the scored in just the first quarter)
S-Jax was on tonight which was great since Crash was having a bad game, still not sure how he missed a few of his layups...Diaw was on tonight which was good as well against a small team in Houston...
just glad to get the win and continue having the home record doing well...

STEPHEN JACKSON IS A BEASTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Gerald played bad but still ended up with "Okay' stats.....which is what makes him an all star. He had 9 pts 8 reb which I dont think is bad because we had a BEAST of a human score 43 points tonight
New Franchise record FTW!
Man, that was a helluva game to watch, God bless Stack Jack, he was murdering whoever was on him. Diaw played like last year for a night, and no one of them got over 20! Love it!

What a show put on in the TWC tonight! Worst crowd I've seen this year, but what a performance those of us who were there got to see. Obviously Jack was on all night, but he put the club on his back late 3rd early 4th and it was over for the Rockets. The lead had gotten down to 5 and there were some empty possessions as the offense was running through Flip for a time, then Jack got the ball by the Rockets bench and nailed a 3 and he looked at the bench and yelled (my guess was at Larry, telling him to run the offense through him but I can't verify), and then, next trip down a jumper from the other side over Buddinger and we're tied, and it's over for all intents and purposes.
I know JRich had some special performances, but I've never seen anything quite like this. I honestly think he not only had the Rockets scared shitless, but also Larry. I'll have to say that's a performance I'll never forget.
As for the game, once again, I thought we were headed for a loss headed into the second half. The effort was pathetic in terms of hustle plays and defense. But damned if they didn't wake up and put together one hell of a second half on d. They put immense ball pressure on the Rockets and made them visibly uncomfortable, as the low shooting % and second half points indicate. They scrapped back with a scrappy team and here we go, another win. Wow.
And how about ol' Boris. Consecutive good games, with this one being a great game considering how his numbers have been for over a month now. This was a really clutch game from him with Raymond and GW having subpar offensive games.
Another great win against another quality team....and now only 2 games back of .500.......talk about uncharted territory.

I could have sword Richardson is still the francishe scorer at 44 against the Warriors.
Jack got the ball by the Rockets bench and nailed a 3 and he looked at the bench and yelled (my guess was at Larry, telling him to run the offense through him but I can't verify),
From what I heard he yelled at the Rockets guys and said "You don't have anyone that can guard me" or something close to that.
And Legend, the 'Cats confirmed it was a franchise record, and the Warriors game was 42.
