I have noticed primarily in this market, that a players college team seems to matter, especially if the player went to Duke or UNC. I live in NC, but was not raised in NC. Personally, when a guys becomes a Bobcat, I could give a shit which school he went too, because the name on Jersey, says Bobcats. And its only UNC or Duke, because people never talk about where other players went to school.

I think the school they went to has an effect on how they will be in the NBA. 20/10 for Pacific University isn't as good as 20/10 for UNC. Playing in one of the Big Conferences usually (I stress usually) better prepares a guy better for the next level.

LOL I actually have a ton of respect for Duke, Redick is one of my favorite college ball players since I've been growing up. I don't like them, but I want the WHOLE ACC to be successful, not just my Heels.

I say usually because guys can put up big numbers in a power conference and still not play well in the NBA regardless. However, power conference play seemingly does correlate to a successful NBA career
