View Full Version : Why Gerald will be a 2010 ALLSTAR!!
I've been studying sports shows for the last few weeks. Everyone I've seen has selected G-Force as one of their choices as a All Star reserve this year. Now they don't get to vote, but they can apply pressure! lol.
When everyone and their mamma is speaking up for a particular player to make it, it is very hard for the coaches to ignore that. These 4 reasons make it even harder...
-Top 5 in rebounding (small foward)??
-Averaging a double double (Small Foward)??
-One of the best defensive players in the game
-The Charlotte Bobcats are winning!!
According to the pro's on ESPN and NBATV, and hearing them name Gerald as one of their picks, I truly believe this year Gerald (G-Force) Wallace will be named as an Eastern Conference All-Star reserve.
The reserves for the 2010 All-Star game will be announced on Jan 28th.
Put in your votes and keep your hopes high!
THIS IS OUR YEAR!!
GO BOBCATS!!!!!

Everything is just fine and dandy, but let's not get ahead of ourselves... we all know how our very own Icarus likes to fly too close to the sun. Sit tightly and enjoy the ride, lest we get disappointed.
But this year... I'm trying to keep hope alive! lol. I know it's not a guaruntee, and he might not make it because of other more popular fowards like Jamison or J. Smith. I just feel like having faith never hurts. Either way, he's a All Star to us, weather he makes it Dallas or not!
Read this today, kinda fits. About T-Mac and AI
During Shaquille O'Neal (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=614)'s unproductive, injury-plagued final season in Miami in 2008, former Knicks coach Isiah Thomas (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=3507) said he planned to vote him as a reserve anyway, recalling that when he played respected older players such as Julius Erving still made All-Star teams late in their careers.
That's why Charlotte coach Larry Brown supports Iverson's election.
"I've seen Willie Mays and those older guys start based on what they've done in their career in baseball, and we've had that happen in basketball for years, guys that have made a contribution," Brown said. "That's why the fans are involved, and I think it's kind of neat that they are involved. They support the league, they vote for their favorite players. I always look at a guy's body of work."

Time to vote Juwan Howard and Grant Hill into the all star game.
I mean just look at their body of work.

People who vote in a player just based on their past works are idiots. The All-Star game should be about what have you done with your certain team. A.I should definatly not be in the All-Star game,he's not the player he used to be. Sure he was one of the greats back in the day but there's a new crop of players that are currently better than him. In the case of G-Wallace he's all you want in a player. Sure he's not the most gifted but he works his butt off every minute he's on the court and when you need a clutch score or rebound he's there for you.

I think he gets in pretty damn easily though, but like you say, whether or not, we know what he means to us, and Gerald knows this too.

Cat fans love Gerald in the same unconditional manner a mother loves her child, except our baby is one handsome high-flying beast which makes him so much more endearing. The league expresses the same love for the merch hoarding masses who want to see names prancing about during the all-star weekend, not players. That's the only reason I figure he won't make the cut... I hope to hell I'm wrong.

I agree with Sir Charles Barkley, fans should not be allowed to vote for All-Stars.And I don't agree with giving a player a reserve spot just because of his past accomplishments.
the fans could vote, if the nba changed the game.
1. fans vote for starters = 50% of vote, coaches and players other 50%
2. players and coaches vote for all reserves
3. take all of the aging stars etc ie iverson, shaq, ray allen etc put them in a special category which they can't be starters and call it the "legacy spot" fans get 1 choice in each conference, fans 100%. it is an added spot. no current player playing at all-star level will miss out because of the legacy spot. a player can only be a legacy one time.
4. combine center and pf positions

That sounds good in principal, but I think NBA players would find that designation insulting. Just increase the roster spot by one and maybe it can be an unwritten rule to allow an older player to get a spot.

I have no problem if they want to give Shaq or back in the day MJ, a spot in the All-Star game. Guys like that deserve a spot as long as they are in the NBA. The All-Star game is about entertainment. If you picked the team purely based on accomplishments, I think the game would lose it's appeal to the average basketball fan.
6 in a row? 9 straight at the CATCAVE? 5th seed in the East? Blowing playoff teams with mvp's and All Stars clear out of the water?? Lmao!
Folks they don't have a choice anymore. If G-Force is not an All-Star, David Stern would have a lot of angry fans and employees. I don't think that's what he needs right now with Gunbert Arenas in the crap he is.
I'm just waiting to hear his name announced.
