Okay, so I was looking at some stats today, because I'd noticed that Crash's 3's seemed to be falling in a lot more lately. And it turns out I was right. Prior to this season, his highest 3 pt percentage over a year was .325%, in 06-07. This year, not only is it .338% for the whole year, but since Stack Jack got here, it's skyrocketed to .386%. Also, over the last 12 games, it's a crazy .423%.

Now let's take a look at Raymond. Prior to this year, his best season from three was his rookie year, at .358%. This year, however, he's shooting threes at a .410% clip, and a .441% number since the Jackson trade. And, over the last 12 games, he's shooting an even .500%. Not too shabby.

And while I'm not going to look at Flip over the season since he missed the first few games and only had 17 attempts before the trade, over the last 12 games he also is shooting .500%

Now, I'm not going to say this is all because of Jack, but it seems to have a great deal to do with it.

Jax takes a lot of pressure off these guys. They take better shots, and thus make them more often than not. None of these guys (except maybe Flip) are 3 point marksmen, but give them an open shot and they will knock it down.

Wallace's over all shoot has been getting better over the yrs. His improved FT % is steady proof of that. LB runs screens during games to get him a lock of the key pop out jumper. He's become a pretty reliable shooter.

I think it's kinda sad that this franchise is built around Wallace. He's a All star if he makes the team or not. But he's unkown, for the most part. He's getting ESPN love this year, but other the the rebounds he's been doing this for years.

I think it's all about the winning with ESPN

seems to me like hes been taking a few more mid range pullin up off the dribble jumpers. those still make me cringe. but if he's set for a open 3 I'm pretty confident, and apparently so is he. :)

edit: I think Gerald is realizing what he's gonna have to add if he wants to have a career into his 30s. Glad to see him putting in the work that most guys with his athleticism probably wouldn't bother with. Nobody wants to be the next Steve Francis

i agree that jax spreads the floor and commands more defensive attention, but the biggest factor is LB. a big reason for the improvement is because we are taking better shots that are come from an open and set position. in years past, we were chucking up many more bad shots and not playing within ourselves.
