Of course, you were there for the dramatic overtime victory over the Celtics. You remember the many victories over the Lakers.

However, sustained Bobcat success is new to you. Well, it's new for everybody.

If you are having trouble understanding the new Bobcats or handling the recent success, please post here. It's better to get it out than to stumble down the path of self-destruction you often find yourself once you've experienced a good thing.

We're all in this together. One love.

I love it
but like everything it comes with new concerns... like why the box isn't packed with the team playing so well
and the huge fit of depression i will fall into when this streak ends lol

This came to mind because of a conversation that Slam, dnbman and I were having in the last game thread.

After going through years of hopelessness, Bernard Robinson, Tamar Slay, even more bad basketball, Brevin Knight,Bernie Bickerstaff, Jeff Mcinnis, a year of absurdley bad basketball with Sam Vincent, overweight power forwards with donut addictions, Adam Morrison blown ACLs, we have finally... FINALLY reached the point where we are not just competitive, but a damned good basketball team capable of winning 8 out of 10 games, 6 game home winning streaks and blowing out good teams by 20, 30 or even 40 points ( Hello Michael Beasley ).

Does this metamorphisis into the Bobcats becoming a playoff caliber team feel the way that you thought it would?

I'm having a hard time shaking the feeling that someone is going to jump out from behind the goalpost and say GOTCHA! or that this is some weird fluky 10 game anomaly in the middle of the season.

anybody else having a more difficult time than you expected psychologically coming to terms with the new and improved Bobcats?

After years of the roller coaster ride that is the Bobcats, I have to admit, I'm still in denial. If history is any indicator with this team, the light at the end of the tunnel is likely to be a train.

I'm extremely excited right now, but I think I think I won't be getting TOO excited until we clitch a playoff berth. Its just such a new feeling for me, 6 years of mediocrity has taken its toll, and I still have nightmares about taking Adam Morrison over Brandon Roy, but with that being said I have a huge smile on my face, despite the fact that the Panthers season is done and my beloved UNCW Seahawks continue to struggle.

Look guys we have the talent...now they are showing it...I give LB credit for getting this team to play "D" and together...but the "O" has really opened up with Jax coming to the team...we have a solid team...what is there not to love...(well excluding TC...whomever that is)...

I literally had a nightmare TC came back and we started losing bad and LB refused to take him out.

Nightmare is not a strong enough term for what that would be...

As a Wisconsin sports fan I'm used to having my hope taken away from me, but for some reason when I watch this team play they have that IT factor that the great teams have. It's gonna take some time to realize that this isn't the Bernie Bickerstaff Bobcats anymore. But it's gonna be sweet trying to get used to this

I'm still shell shocked. It's just.............clicking. Everything.

Look at tonights win. A TOTAL blow out - but we still had 20 turn overs. I mean, if we had protected the ball a little better, it could have easily been a 50 point win.

We believe we can win every game. We keep cool heads. We are focused. We play as one. It's beautiful.

I have a feeling that this will end up being LB's fav team of all time. With guys like Felts, Jax and Crash on the roster, the way they play, the size of their hearts, they way they have embraced his philosophy...........I really think this is "his" team. More than the Sixers were. More than the Pistons were.

One love baby. One love.

anybody else having a more difficult time than you expected psychologically coming to terms with the new and improved Bobcats? LOL. It's funny, over the course of this homestand, during timeouts or halftime or even after a phenomnal sequence, I'll catch myself just shaking my head in disbelief asking myself "WTF is going on?" I mean, this homestand started out in historic fashion with the first ever buzzer-beating win, then move on to a franchise (and career) record 43 points from Jack the next game, then the first-ever win at home in ass-kicking fashion against SAS, an absolute smackdown against PHX which began with a record 43 point first quarter, then a nearly-blown 24 point lead against SAC with an injured GW, and Raymond comes to the rescue to pull out a squeaker, and finally finishing it up the the most historic beatdown of them all against the Heat breaking countless franchise records in the process.

Yeah, my head is spinning in bewilderment, disbelief, delirium, whatever, but the end result is I can't wipe this  off my face, and it feels damn good. If it makes any of y'all feel any better, even our best bud, Michael Thompson is a blown away by the recent dominance as we are.

I'm just taking it one day, one game at a time, and hope if I'm dreaming this all up, that no one wakes me up 'til I've seen how it plays out.

I still can't comprehend how we are playing so well(understatement).Maybe it has something to do with TC being out.I think Gerald Wallace and Jax are one of the better leaders in this league and once they get a taste of the playoffs with this team they will belong in the same group as the other elite leaders in the league like Kobe and Gasol/Fisher,KG and Pierce,Timmy and Parker. Our leadership and LB's disciplined coaching with holding his team accountable for defense have made us "the best team in the league in 2010" says Kenny Smith.
Coaching and leadership are something the best teams in the league have in common....oh yeah and defense

It is nothing short of amazing the run the team has been on...but it does give one pause trying to bring TC back into the team...

This stretch has just been amazing. I've followed this team from day one (got some gear the second it went on sale) and this feels great. Like others have said, I find it difficult to wipe the smile off my face. These blowouts...I've sat in that arena and watched them take whippings more times than I care to count; so I LOVE being able to sit and watch them hand some out themselves. It's just tremendous. Now, if they can take this defense on the road...

Yes, it is all sudden, not fully unexpected, but record improvement has been so quick we can't catch breath during and take step by step. On the other hand we will be prepared to expect anything in the play offs (but still surprised, mesmerized and thrilled) in comparison to late sneak into the 8th at the very end of 82 games.

yes they grew up so fast

If we somehow win it all (Hollinger has us at 7.7%) i would like to ask Acie Law what he would say if someone'd said to him at the start of the season he's gonna win the ring with the Bobcats within a year

Get to the finals to play the Lakers

That sounds shockingly in our favor.

I agree the last step would be the easiest, lol

We might get that non-ignorant part of Lakers nation rooting for major Eastern contenders in the play offs:biggrin:

A 3 game losing streak seems like a good time to dust this thread off. How is everyone feeling now that we've been knocked down a few pegs? Were we due? Did we revert to the mean? Just a blip? Are we a High School JV team on the road?

I'm actually going to fall on the slightly bullish side. I think we've simply played teams that are better than us. The Hawks, Magic and Nuggets (granted no Melo) are just better than we are. We can't expect to always beat the likes of the Spurs and Cavs, we just need to do it occassionally and make sure we take care of business against the Suns and Bulls and Heat (and worse) of the world.

We should've won last night. We should've beat the Magic. Hawks, I can deal with. THe other two, no.
