I partially agree with this article but none the less this was a good read..
The Charlotte Bobcats’ Jekyll and Hyde nature is one of most interesting yet under-discussed stories of the 09-10 season. Their chances of being a fifth seed in the playoffs are about equal to their chances of not making the playoffs at all. Larry Brown has the necessary pieces to win, but he still needs to do one of the best coaching, teaching and mentoring jobs of his long career to make that a reality.
At Brown’s age, I’m not sure if he can handle the emotional swings of coaching this Bobcats team. You really don’t know what you’ll get from game to game. We’re talking about a team that historically gives the defending champs, the Los Angeles Lakers, fits; but will lay an egg against any random team on the road.
The Bobcats have the unfortunate distinction of giving the lowly New Jersey Nets their first victory of the season. Of course, the loss came on the road and it’s a perfect moment that describes the ’09-’10 Bobcats.
The duality of their home and away records is enough to turn Larry Brown’s salt-and-pepper locks to Del Harris snow white. The Bobcats are an impressive 16-4 at home, but a mind-boggling 3-15 on the road – practically mirrored records. This says a lot about the focus, mental fortitude and emotional balance – or lack thereof – of this team.
Brown is as tough as it gets. His challenge is getting this team to believe they can win when the chips are stacked against them. Let’s look at the key players from the roster and analyze to whom he’s trying to relay his message:
