We travel to LA tonight to end our road trip, according to Bonnell Crash may be out with a hammy injury which could really hurt us...
Hopefully our LA Magic can continue...
If Crash is out I'm doubting it though and I honestly see the Lakers winning by 12

The enemy's game thread via LakersGround.net (http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?t=104165)
They seem genuinely worried about the Bobcats... As they should be
The only team that should historically worry them more is the Celts, and the only team that should currently worry them more is the Cavs.

My biggest concern about tonight's game (outside of GW's availability) is the Bobcats financial situation. Having won 6 of the last 7 from the Lakers and 3 in a row at Staples Center, I can see the NBA mandating a jersey change for the Bobcats starting with the Hornets game on Saturday.
The new jersey's would say "Charlotte Bobcats..Yes we truly are Kobe's Daddy". I'm not sure we can afford all that re-branding in this economy.
^LMAO. That's what he gets for rejecting the Hornets.
And nice to see you posting over here BP.

Yep..fun reading here. I registered on that Laker site earlier in this thread and posted about the same thing. I'll have to check later to see if they (The Laker fans) appreciate my humor.

If Crash is out, not sure if it wont get ugly. We usually match up well with them, but Crash is vital.

I cringe to think of what will ensue if Crash can't play. Can anyone fathom Stevie Graham covering Bryant? I can and it involves 3 fouls in just as many seconds. Hopefully the yeoman and the rookie Brown (who I love btw, silky, silky shot and he actually dunks his offensive boards, imagine that) can put stop-gap clamp on that petulant pansy Kobe...

I never worry about this team getting up to play the lakers. I like our chances with our without crash even though we are playing terrible right now and I have lost most of my confidence in LB as a coach.
Sadly even though they have lost a couple this game likely still means more to us because it's the Lakers.

So when a team that hadn't won more than 3 games all year (09-10 season..clearly) on the road last year wins at least 3 in a single trip you lose faith in the coach and think they're playing horrible?
GoBobs
02-03-2010, 09:58 PM
woo hoo the bulls just lost
LB is constantly coaching not to lose instead of being aggressive. His attitude effects the way the team plays.
For example on the road he doesn't play the young guys much. His lack of confidence in them effects the way our young guys develop. I see lesser players developing more on other teams because the coach is not afraid to let them make some mistakes. DJ, Hendo, Lexy none of our young guys seem to be getting much better. If you don't let a player make mistakes there is not much chance for growth to occur.
Another example, when we have a 20 pt lead at the start of the fourth LB doesn't have enough balls to play the bench. The bench in that situation has a chance to play well because the starters are tired and not all that hungry because they are up.
Also we never seem to play different lineups to exploit the weaknesses of other teams. We have never once gone big this year with two of Diop, Nazr, TC, Ajinca on the court at the same time. We have four centers but if another team goes small we play Diop, or Brown at center rather than forcing the action with one of our big guys.
As for the record, I think this team is capable of better than we are going to end up with on this trip. A loss to denver without Anthony stinks esp the way we played. We should have lost to sac and losing to that group the mangled up blazers put on the floor makes me want to throw up. When you play a team that hardly has enough healthy players and they run you out of the gym that is embarrassing. Near the end of a long road trip when your team is tired and the other team isn't very deep might be a good time to lean on the bench some but we do the same tired ass lineups no matter what.

It's official: Jeff McInnis has been reincarnated and his new name is Stephen Graham. He's one of those players that is inexplicably starting in an NBA game, yet if he was cut tomorrow he probably wouldn't get picked up.
I know we're beating this like a dead horse but Larry needs to play Gerald and UPS. G-Force is out of the game, you have no freaking excuse.

That shannon brown dunk is because steven Jackson didn't run back he was talking to the refs about the no call on the derek brown drive. It's the little things that make a difference between being good and being great.
Ironically Doris Meow actually played great defense on Pau Gasoft, he kept him off the block pretty well

From what I saw he thought the Lakers were calling a timeout for Kobe's injury. Not anything outside of a normal reaction.
Good first half, considering we don't have Crash and they effectively haven't and might not have Kobe. We should win this, no excuses.
Gana and Nazzy need to play together more often.

In his defense this game he has 2 ticky tack fouls, and 2 real fouls called on him, it is hard to get any flow to your game with the refs breathing down your neck.

Heh...good post!
That being said Boris was a huge disappointment last night. When our best player goes down we really needed him to step up like Jax, Nazr & Felton (1st quarter mainly) did. I'm slowly but surely starting to give up on the guy being our starting 4 for the long haul.
The player rotations really confused me last night. Felton had the hot hand after 1 quarter (4 of 6 w/ one miss being a buzzer beating half court 3 attempt), sat for a big chunk of the 2nd and never really got it back. DJ did well in that 2nd quarter but LB probably should have inserted Felton back in for Flip much sooner.
In the 4th DJ was continually getting beat by Farmar off the dribble and that spurred the 8 +/- lead...LB should have reacted much sooner to get Felton back in there.
Regardless, 3-3 for our worst road trip this season is pretty darn good.
Anyway...as Schnitzel says, time to move on.

Diaw
Besides that, we played competitive. Graham stepped up to defend really well. Was brilliant to hold Kobe to 5 points, that'll hit his averages hard. Diop + Nazzy were beasts out there, both grabbing rebounds left and right. Jax was brilliant, and Felton was hot in the first. Auggie was beaten on the dribble a few too many times and Flip hit some good shots. No Hendo love (talk about stunting his development) and should have played UPS more since Diaw was failing...HARD
