A report came out today that disputes the article I linked yesterday. Two Clippers executives say the Thomas has not been contacted.

He is actually a good coach / decent at drafting players.
But he was a terrible GM (<= understatement of the year) so his name is tainted.
If he is just brought in to coach, i think it could turn out good for both sides.
