View Full Version : Gerald makes Team USA!
http://www.bobcatsbreak.com/?p=1705
I’m not sure what my chances will be to play for Team USA in the Olympics, but even having the opportunity to make the 12-man roster is still a great experience to go out and participate and be a part of it. So my main thing is just being supportive of it and being there for my country.
USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!

Wish we had as much national pride in our basketball. 9/10ths of Australia doesn't even know who Bogut, Jawai or Mills are.
However, being a Bobcats fan, that is utterly awesome news.
Go make the USA team Crash!!!

This is awesome. All the hard work finally paid off. I am happy for Gerald, very deserving.

That's awesome for GW - Kind of concerning for the team as he already plays 40+ minutes a night and i don't want him any more burnt out than he would normally be but still quite the accomplishment

More praise being heaped on Gerald! All of it's deserved, too. I hope he makes it, but trimming that squad down to 12 will make it tough, real tough.
I think Gerald has a great shot to make the team, his "does it all" type of game will be greatly respected by Coach K as will his stellar defense.

I think he can make a coach K team . He does all the little dirty thinks coach K loves. Defence , rebounding . blocking out , diving on the floor . steals , energy. They don't call him crash for nothing.

While I'd be thrilled to see Crash in the red, white and blue I can't help but feel like Mark Cuban here. I don't really like the idea of Crash playing organized ball all summer. I'd prefer he sleep in a hyperbaric chamber all summer and let his body recoup.
Sorry to be a wet blanket.

The things you and ND22 say make a whole lot of sense to me.
Crash does seem like a guy that Coach K would like. I'm thinking you gotta figure KD and LBJ to be on the team, but then again those guys (especially LeBron) can play a few (or all) positions. I feel like I'm forgetting another small forward...
edit: Melo! But K uses him at the 4, not the 3.

I'm surprised he is more nervous about the All-star game than the dunk contest. It seems being out on the court by yourself watched by millions would be more nervous than just playing basketball. Btw, I'm glad he has enlisted Flip for help with his dunks. Flip seems like a creative type of guy.

I swear I was talking about this a while back with my Team USA thread.
He could seriously fill that Teyshaun Prince role and just do everything, and do it very well. He'd be a nice swiss knife player for the team

Geralds tryna become a superstar! I love it. I cant see anything wrong with spending the summer training with the worlds best players. I doubt he'd play much but just being around these guys should be good for Gerald.
