We HAVE to try and sign him!

Drew Gooden is expected to be bought out by the Wizards, according to Adrian Wojnorowski, further enhancing the value of Andray Blatche and JaVale McGee.

If Gooden never plays a game in Washington, both Blatche and McGee should be owned in all leagues. Gooden could end up with the Bucks, Bobcats, Nuggets, or return to Dallas once the buyout is complete. Gooden has yet to show up in Washington, and while the local media is blaming his delay on personal reasons, Wojnarowski seems to be more dialed into what's happening in the league than anyone.

Maybe. How much and how long?

I'm probably about as high on Gooden as any reasonable basketball fan can be. However, he's a long shot to really help us much. He's known has a space cadet and hasn't contributed much in the last few years to any team. I think he's worth a low cost risk, but I'm not interested in any kind of bidding war for his services.

i totally disagree...i think he is a solid player who makes the most of the minutes he gets...seems like a positive guy, who would hurt to have in the locker room....we have an open roster spot, we have no excuse not to go after him.

He's one of the guys whose numbers are deceptive. His rebounds and points are o.k., but I've continually read that he doesn't have his head in the game, costing his team as much as helping them.

A playoff team like ours has to be very focused with every man contributing. If the other players think that he's not getting his head in the game, that's going to be bad for the locker room, even if he's the greatest guy ever.

I wish we'd start to sign some D-Leaguers

...and I wish this was in "around the NBA" since it has nothing to do with a player on our team...

Well if Im not mistaken, He was either going to us or Dallas in Free Agency so I would say we have a good shot at signing him....

"The Cavaliers have acquired Antawn Jamison from the Wizards, according to the Washington Post.

The deal is possibly a three-way with Drew Gooden being sent to a Western Conference team.

The Wizards will receive Zydrunas Ilgauskas and a 1st round pick, according to the source."

Hah! That takes away serious leverage from Kerr and the Suns! The question now is do they take Riley's cheap offerings (no Beas, just expirings, pick) or do they just keep Amare and let him expire?

Gooden is going to the Clippers and they are going to buy him out.

Cap and LT wise, how much could we offer him Spectre?

I just read on NBA.com the Clips were keeping him.

Not that the Clips know what they're doing...

And Slam, we can offer him either his amount of the veteran minimum, or if we aren't using it in the offseason, the MLE up to the lux tax depending on trades through tomorrow, which is probably around 2.5 million.

Yeah something like that. I thought it was just under 2 million, but who knows if we have all the correct numbers.

i just read a few minutes ago on several different sites. Some say the clippers are buying him out some say he is staying.I honestly don't think it matters.I mean I think gooden is a decent back up,and if it's him or nothing then ok I quess. But,the way I see it,as bad as boris is playing right now we really need to go balls out tomorrow and see if we can try to find someone capable of pushing boris for that spot because i'm not really sure if boris and a scrub is that much better than playing nazzy/UPS/And 7-foot waste of cap space there a few minutes each game.

P.S. just to clarify.the 7-foot waste of cap space is Chandler, but that is only because Diop is to slow to play the four.and Because Lexy probably in the middle of nowhere shoveling snow so he and the red lobsters can get there greyhound bus out of a ditch.

Chris Mannix, SI (http://twitter.com/ChrisMannixSI/status/9243895372): "Bobcats, Bucks high on Gooden's trade list, should the Wizards choose to deal him, source says." (12:54 p.m. ET, Feb. 17)
That was at 1 PM yesterday.

According to those on RGM Clips' board:

The Clips plan to buyout Drew Gooden's contract and allow him to become a Free Agent.
Hell maybe we do have a shot at him. I haven't seen what the Salmons' trade did to the Bucks' salary situation, but they were right at the tax line (and they won't go over).

Couple 100k over vet min would maybe do the deal?

Depending on our restrictions due to the pending sale we might not have a lot of options.
