Diop + DJ for a second round pick. There are going to be a lot of teams with cap space so we could shop that around after the major free agents hook up. I would love to see DJ get it going again with his shot but I don't think he will ever be a good defender.

Anything to get rid of diops awful salary,, i was reading on nba.com earlier today talking about the benefit of the new player/team contract talks.. they specifically mentioned Diops contract. Saying with the new cap and contract length it would be smart business sense , cause you would not have players like emeka okafor getting paid huge dollars for being a non-marketable player.. and you would not have players like diop and larry hughes getting paid millions of dollars a year to hand out high fives.
I agree :)

It doesn't really save money, but one off-season move I hope we do make is to pick Flip up again. We're sorely lacking backcourt depth and I'd love to see us use our MLE (not the full amount of course) to get him back next year. It would definitely take us over the LT, but we'll probably be over it anyway and I'm hoping MJ will be committed enough to winning to do whatever it takes.

I saw the same thing on espn
There were actually about 6 of the 20 or so players mentioned that ARE or WERE Bobcats who have terrible contracts.
Something like...
Emeka
Tyson
Diop
AMMO
Matt Carrol
and maybe more. I cant remember

31-year old streaky journeyman? meh. How about our coaching staff does something off the grid and bring Gerald Henderson along. Ya know, that 23-year old athletic lottery pick from 2009 that can't even get 5 minutes of burn per game. :stopping my rant now:

Chandler for Okafor would save about 1 mill next season. We could really use a goalie type big in the middle... one that isn't injury prone would be a plus.
No one is going to take Diop unless we trade away another 1st.

AGREED. I'd do just about anything (reasonable) to unload Diop's contract. A second round pick would be good and maybe sign a backup guard from the D-League or something.

I'll grant you that Flip is streaky, but we haven't been the same since he left and he's been a spark plug for the Bulls. I've gotta think there's a reason why Henderson isn't playing. It probably has something to do with that fact that he's a shooting guard who can't shoot. The athleticism is intriguing, but at this level you've got to have a skill set, and I'm not sure he does. I'd love it if he proves me wrong because we're desperately in need of some young talent, especially since we don't have a draft pick until like 2017.

I'm with ya Demon...bring Flip back on a 2 year 4/5 deal.
We need more swagger for that 2nd unit.

Yeah, I mean he just beat MJ in two games of horse, why not give the kid a chance to get in a shoot the ball?
Diop + DJ for a second rounder and an aging backup point, maybe.
And maybe Diaw and Lexy for something?
