View Full Version : Golden State Warriors at Charlotte Bobcats 3/6

Coming off a stellar win from the LAL.
We know that Ellis is out, and that the warriors are lacking big men. Only bright spot on their team is Curry who is playing well.

If we can control the boards, I think we have a great chance in this. Defend hard, play well, pass, and rebound. We have the height advantage.

I predict a win:
98 - 82

I also predict Hendo gets decent PT (At least 8 minutes)

balanced guard play and some actual center playing center was crucial to our win last night. with ellis out, i like our chances. i noticed henderson's play also allowed capt jack to only log 35 minutes which should keep him a little more fresh for tonight. keeping the 3 point shooters at bay will be the key to us winning tonight. i feel like we always get burned by good 3 point shooting teams.

If we defend we should have no problems, because Golden State doesnt. They are a very short handed young team that is struggling right now. Im hoping for my boy Steph to have a big game back home but an easy Bobcats win.

This is one we should win. But we have to play solid perimeter defense. And if we fancy our Cats to be a Playoff team, this is the kind of game they need to win. Defend home court.

It is like Larry said to Crash "let them have those outside shots." Crash needs to play pressure D and trust his shot blockers. We have great shot blockers now if you get beat. I want to see him getting hand up more with the intention of blocking these jumpers.

Did you get the feeling watching last nights game they were gambling a little more on trying to pick off passes last night?

More so than they have been this season?

spectre

Yeah they were gambling a lot more than normal.

I don't know if it was that or just that they were throwing so much energy out on D. We haven't seen the latter in a long time.

I wish LB would do a better job of putting him in situations where he is free to roam. I liked the zone look. It could work if we focused on pressuring hard and then ran out to the open shooter with the intention of blocking the shot. Tyrus and Gerald would both be great at that and are both capable of coming over the top of TC to block his man if help is needed there. If you watch Louisville they play this kind of zone style some.

True - plus they were putting a lot of effort into the recovery if they missed the steal, which makes the world of difference.

Crash is an awesome help defender and why people like Slam keep comparing TT to him. Under LB tho he's learning how that can sometimes leave your mates hanging, so this past year he's focused more on his own guy.

IMO it's much more effective from the 4 spot and why adding TT added back what we've lost.

I think the League Office can overrule the 1 game suspension which usually follows an ejection IF they review and feel the elbow was completely unintentional. Otherwise, we will likely be without him for 1 game soon.

Heh, here's something you'd never think to see: Every player who went in tonight had a TO but one...and the one was Tyson Chandler!

Granted he only played a little over 7 minutes, but he did get 4 boards, a block and went 1 of 2 (and that was a great catch in the paint for a slam) and NO fouls.

The other point...we had way too many TOs.

Totally different. Moore was trying to bring the ball up while Crash was defending him.

Crash threw an elbow after the basket was scored.

I'm just hoping that because it looked like he didn't actually connect and there was no remonstrating by either team he might get away with it.

All depends on how Stern feels about intent I guess?

spectre
03-06-2010, 10:19 PM
Ok now I am confused.

You're saying that it looked like it didn't actually connect...so he didn't even hit him? Was it considered an intentional swing at him with the elbow?

Wallace scored all of his points in the second half and added 10 rebounds, but was tossed after elbowing Anthony Tolliver in the face in a tussle with 59 seconds left.Tussle?

http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_nba/2010/03/referee-on-wallaces-ejection.html

Lead official Monty McCutchen, on why Gerald Wallace was ejected late in Saturday's game:

"He threw an elbow above shoulder level that did not connect, but the vicious nature in which it was thrown warranted the ejection. He was called for a dead ball technical foul for a physical taunt and ejected. Instant replay was used to support that ejection.''

Tussle?
It sure didn't look like it connected. Tollivers head didn't jolt back for example.

It also looked more like a forearm to me, not an eblow (not sure if that will matter or not in Stern's eyes though).

Didn't get to see the game, but very happy they won...was looking at the schedule as Chicago is finally starting to fall, they have a much harder schedule remaining than we do, but also have 2 games against us...2 key wins that we need...hopefully we can win both of those and continue to roll. I could really see us jumping them in the east and finally gaining that 8th spot for good...let's hope so.

The Miami game is huge as well...Come on Bobcats!

Also a little ticked that the Cavs laid down for the Bucks :-/

ohara831
03-07-2010, 08:08 AM
If Crash is suspended for the Miami game, he has no one to blame but himself. The game was essentially over and we were going to win. He has to maintain his composure and not do something stupid. He did something which allowed the refs to intervene and interpret his actions. Just a very stupid thing to do. I hope like heck he does not get suspended, but if he does, it is his fault and not the refs. And if he is suspended, he should privately apologize to his teammates for letting them down.
