I Made It by Kevin Rudolf feat. Birdman, Jay Sean, Lil Wayne).
Found this song due to my love for WWE (it's their theme song for Wrestlemania) and I love it.
New official song? The lyrics are pretty inspiring. It would be awesome to have it playing at the start of Bobcats games (I don't know, never been to a Bobcats game but yeah).

The last time Wayne dropped a legitimate verse was at least a decade ago, and that was only because he was backed by solid ghostwriters.
He is a horrible representation of the genre - especially considering the steadfast allegiance so many young people have towards him. It's 2010... you can listen to basically any type of music whenever you want. Why do people settle for the trash?

I agree. The last time I listen to the local radio here in Charlotte, was nearly 2 years ago.I could no longer stand listening to the trash they played. So I've been strictly listening to the classics from guys like Pac,Biggie,Big L,Big Pun ect...
Maybe one day I'll be able to turn on radio, and hear some decent music again.

Did they cover Gin and Juice or something? I know there's that one twangy version of it (by The Gourds, I think, which I like), but is nothing sacred?

I'll deny it.He's not even close to being one of the best of all-time.Wayne can keep on making his money(not a hater),but he's not even in the discussion of greatest MC's to ever touch a mic.He might be one of the best today, even though thats not saying much, but by all-time standards Wayne is very average. And he cant even begin to touch mics with following guys in their prime.
Pac
Biggie
Nas
Big L
Big Pun
Scarface
Jay Z
Ice Cube
Rakim
Outkast
Wayne is average compared to these MC's and many more.I could go on all day.If you like Wayne's music, that's fine.Just know that there have been many, many, artists in the past that did it better than Wayne. And by better,I mean much better.

Outkast? wow lol
I respect these guys but I have to disagree that Wayne is not in the same conversation as these guys. He puts out records and songs like crazy and many say is has 1000's of songs that are recorded but unreleased.
He's a very hard worker and great business man and becasue he works so hard he is def. not at his prime. He also is very versitile and can do alot more musically than Pac, Biggie, Jay, etc could dream of doing. Shoot, Wayne put out a rock/rap album last month. It wasnt great but for a rapper is was good(Songs like Paradice, Drop The World and On Fire are very popular now...). I realize that him being versitile might not make him better than Pac or any of them in your eyes but its something that you have to take into consideration.
Another thing you have to think about is that Wayne is in a completley different time period than the other guys. He is hip hop right now. The whole game basically revolves around him and JayZ. Music evolves over time and only the best last for a long time. Look at rock music....The Stones and u2 for example are great and have been around for ever. BUT, they have had to adjust their style a little bit to be current and "in". Wayne has done this and it has been successful. He changed drastically from Carter II to Carter III. But it worked and he sold a million+ in week one that his album was out. As I said before, only the best survive. But dont get me wrong, I think JayZ is great and as I said he also is a big factor in the rap game today. However, even he changed his music to fit todays style.
Anyway, I got a little out of focus there but just wait till Tha Carter IV comes out. I bet you will eat your own words. Wayne will show with that album that he is not only one of the greatest rappers of all time, but he is also one of the best musicians of all time.
One last thing, you mentioned that Wayne was one of the best today but that isnt saying much. You also said that Jay Z is one of the best of all time. Isnt Jay Z still putting out hit songs now? But isnt Wayne more popular and selling more records than Jay Z RIGHT NOW?
Excuse my typing and overall writing becasue Im tired and may of not explained myself in full......thats why some things may seem jumbled and/or out of place haha
Also, this isnt directed all at you, CarolinaBlue.....I should've sorted these thoughts out better but as i said.....:D

Yea he has definatley not fallen off since Carter II. He sold a MILLION copies of Tha Carter III in week one and over a millie downloads before the album was released(it leaked about a week before the release). He may have started doing some non-rap and more mainstream every day radio type songs but he has gotten back to going hard on alot of his latest features and songs(and like the whole mixtape No Ceilings as you said).
The one thing I have to disagree with you on is that only females buy his records. I dont think it's possible for a rapper to sell as many records as he did and has with only girls buying....ahahaha :D

Again, being popular has nothing to do with talent. (See Mane, Gucci and Boy, Soulja, etc.)
Also, maybe not Outkast the group, but Dre 3000 is by far the better rapper than Wayne. Go and listen to some of his stuff and you'll see.
Top 10 is what I would call greatest rappers, Wayne was close back in the day, but his stuff is too watered down and commercialized now to even sniff the top.
Nas, Tupac, Biggie are the top 3 and that's definitely irrefutable. Jay-Z and Eminem are the second tier, followed by the Bigs (L and Pun), Rakim, Immortal Technique, and Mos Def.
Hell that's 10 right there, without even mentioning Dre 3000, Wu Tang, NWA, MF Doom, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Kool G Rap, Cassidy, Freeway, or even the Beastie Boys or Bone Thugs

But dont get me wrong, I think JayZ is great and as I said he also is a big factor in the rap game today. However, even he changed his music to fit todays style. Wayne changing is part of the problem.Go back and listen to Lil Wayne's Tha Carter 1 album. When that album dropped,I too thought Wayne was on his way to being one of the best ever.I always thought Wayne had potential since his Hot Boyz days. And when Tha Carter 1 came out,I thought he had found himself as an MC.And I expected great things from him.But boy was I let down, because after Tha Carter 1 Wayne completely changed everything about his music, included his style/flow.Did those changes help him sell more records?Yes,but those changes also made him a worse MC.That's why many people consider Wayne a sellout. He sacrificed his true abilities to sell more records.
One last thing, you mentioned that Wayne was one of the best today but that isnt saying much. You also said that Jay Z is one of the best of all time. Isnt Jay Z still putting out hit songs now? But isnt Wayne more popular and selling more records than Jay Z RIGHT NOW? I'd like to mention that record sales mean absolutely nothing when discussing great MC's.Jay Z is 40 years old,and is well past his prime.Being one of the best today doesn't mean much. The Rap industry is so watered down and commercialized,it's not even funny. There are still real MC's out there, but they get overlooked in favor of trash. Seriously, who's Wayne's competition?Soulja Boy,Gucci,Kanye,Plies?Give me a break.Like I said,Wayne might be good by today's standards, but he's very average by all-time standards. But I do believe Wayne has a lot of talent,he just rather sell records though. And because of that, his musical content suffers far too much to be considered an all-time great.
I hope Wayne proves me wrong with Tha Carter 4,and lives up to his potential. But I'm not gonna hold my breath.I think he's all about making money these days. Not that blame him.

-Ok whatever, thats an opinion thing about whos better than the next because somebody else could say that your "2nd tier" guys should be first and the 1st should be third......
-Vesatility is different in basketball than music. His music is also alot different than the "classic guys". To use a basketball reference like you....You cannot compare Steve Nash to Dwight Howard, they do different things and they both are considered great and are VERY successful.
-Wayne changing isnt all that bad really. He is a very creative guy and just likes to experiment with all kinds of music. Thats something the classics could never do. That doesnt mean, just because he changed for a second that he cant go all out and put out a crazy album. Also, you dont have to tell me to go listen to Carter 1, I have listened to mostly all of Waynes music that I can find. His music is alot different from back then imo he had to change or he wouldn't be as popular as he is today. But dont get me wrong, I liek all the old wayne, but I dont see any drop off in his RAP content since the old stuff....
-Jay Z is still competition for wayne. If he's rapping, he's competition. Em is still rapping, he's competition. Gucci, Soulja Boy, Kanye and all them suck. Believe I know....its not waynes fault tho if he doesnt have competition. If he was in his prime backl when Pac and all of them were, than his raps would be right there with them if not better. Imagine if he used the creativity he has now and used it back then to make music in that time periods style? (Tha Carter 1 style....)
But, I think his real competition is himself. How do you think its gonna look if he doesnt sell a million copies or more of tha carter iv? He knows this album has to be alsolutley insane or he may fall off a little. He wont go away at all if tha carter isnt good tho. He is still the best rapper alive right now and if people didnt have him there would be no rap game today.
Also, today record sales do mean alot. Today it is more about money than music for most, unforunatley.

-His stuff may be watered down now but the whole music industry is changing. The old Carter 1 stuff isnt popular now. You wouldnt hear it on the radio as much as you hear Soulja Boy, as bad as that is.
-And as far as who is better and who is the top ten.....its like arguing Kobe vs LeBron. There is no straight answer....Im a Kobe fan so I will always say Kobe is>>>>>>than Lebron...but if your a LBJ fan your gonna always argue the opposite.

Here's a secret...
Wiz Khalifa is unbelievably weak in terms of lyrical content.
Why does everyone hate Gucci without giving him a chance? His mixtape material is dramatically different than his album material. He's fun to listen to, has some fantastic production, and doesn't pretend to be anything else. Easily my favorite mainstream rapper - and I'm not ashamed to say it.
And this is EXACTLY what Wayne fans do. The entire conversation is centered around him, even though he's a mediocre rapper who will easily fail the test of time. His demographic is teenagers and people who listen to the radio. That's fine, but to drag him into a discussion with legitimate rappers is absurd.

Wayne changing is that bad. When an artist turns commercial like Wayne has, that's never a good thing. And I'm not sure what you find so creative about Wayne's music. He made a rap/rock album so what.Ice-T formed a heavy metal band 20 years ago,and even went on tour.So it's been done before.Llike I've said before,Hip Hop is all about what you can do on the mic.To be one of the greatest you have to have the mic skills, and regardless of whether you think Wayne is creative or not,Wayne is very average on the mic compared to MC's I named. If you don't believe me,listen to some of the music from the MC's I mentioned when they were in their prime.Wayne can't touch them when it comes to mic skills.
I'm sorry, but I can not believe you just said,"If he was in his prime back when Pac and all of them were, than his raps would be right there with them if not better".
Do you seriously believe that?I don't even know what to say. It's obvious that you haven't heard much music from that time period.I fine this statement to be disrespectful to 2pac,and many other great MC's of that time period. It's just wrong in so many ways.I will tell you this,Wayne's current watered down Rap would not have survived in the 80's or 90's.
And another thing,to say there would be no Rap game today without Wayne is just ridiculous. There is always, always, someone waiting to take your spot. There is a kid sitting somewhere right now who has the talent to be the next Nas,or JayZ ect.But the question is,will he get a shot at making it big time without having to water down his music.
But hey,if you enjoy Wayne's music, that's all that matters. But until next time I'm going leave you with a little oldschool Nas.Let me know when Wayne puts out something that can touch this.Until then,Wayne will remain on my shit list.

I've been an Immortal Technique fan for a while, but frankly he doesn't deserve such high praise. He barely drops any new material nowadays and hasn't quite proven himself to be in the same tier as Rakim. If he drops a couple more albums, then we can talk about where he ranks.
My top 10, in no particular order: Scarface, Chuck D (always forgotten), Ice Cube, Nas, Tupac, DOOM, Andre 3000, Q-Tip, Notorious B.I.G., and I guess a toss-up between the rest.

What you just described Gucci as, fun, is exactly why I listen to Wiz. It's good fun music. He's not one of the greatest and never will be but he's fun. I like to mix him in with some real lyrical shit and have a perfect harmony.

Dude at this point I dont give two you know whats about Nas or Pac or any of them. IN MY OPINON Wayne is one of the greatest rappers. Listen to yourself, you sound like my dad saying how none of the music is any good anymore and that Duran Duran is way better than any rock band now. Music is different, its freaking 15 years or so since Tupac was even alive. And dont even talk about Ice T and heavy metal. So what if he went on tour? Wayne was on tour right up until he went in to Rikers Island.
And you know what, I dont care if I disrespect Tupac. Wayne>Tupac....Lets see the response you give me now.......

To be fair, if Pac or Biggie were still alive they'd be rapping today.
And I'm not a big fan of old school rap or anything, so I'm not even getting in on this, other than The Blueprint 3 is by far the best album I've heard in a while, better than the other two and better than any of Weezy's stuff. Weezy's got great lyrics but he can't talk worth a damn...

HAHA!What are you getting mad?Calm down dude,we're just having a discussion. The funny part is you compared me to your dad.I'm probably not even half your dads age.I'm just a Hip Hop head. And I'm sorry to tell you,but guys like Pac,Biggie,Nas ect, their music is timeless and will withstand the test of time.Wayne, not so much.
This time I'm going to leave you with a little Big Pun.Once again,Wayne will remain on my shit list until he drops something that can compare to this.
