There's always a few teams rumored to be selling picks in the 20's of the first round. I would love for this team to get back in that area of the draft (the higher the better obviously) if someone slips or a center is sitting there. I know a lot of times the picks are purchased for cash, so I was curious if anyone has an idea of our payout to get into the high 20's of the draft.

Usually it's between 1 and 2 million cash to the team selling the pick plus the cost of the actual draft picks salary which is around 1 - 1.5 mil depending on where they are selected.

Ok, thx Slam. I remember the past few years that picks would go or a team in the 22-25 range was looking to move their pick for cash. I really hope we can jump into this range and add another element of youth to our roster.

It depends.

... Toney Douglas was traded to the New York Knicks for their 2011 second-round pick and $3 million in cash considerations.

Remember Toney Douglas was 29th pick.

I wrote a whole long post about who they should go after if possible in the first round and 2nd. Took an hour and a half and then it was just gone.

I'll just say I wiish they can get Greg Monroe. Salaries would not make it work but I would even give up D.J. Henderson and Lexi for Greg.

I remember thinking the 3 million the Knicks spent was ridiculous for a #29 and I still do...but they've set the bar now so teams will ask outlandish or really want out for less money and a 2nd...or at least I hope...but there appears to be some good value in the 2nd this year...I think I'd rather see us spend less money and move up in the second...

Im pretty sure it's how much the first year of the rookie contract would be meaning if it's a first pick it would be 5 million but if it's the 30th it would be 1.5 or so.

There are so many pf's in this draft. I think there are 2 pure C's, Evan Turner is a guard plus Willie Warren and that pg who is mocked at 27th plus Kyle Singler and one other sg (forgot his name to lol) and the rest are pf's.

They should probably NOT buy a pick but since there are so little options at the pg and sg position they could get a real good deal if they trade Henderson and or D.J.

They might be able to turn D.J. and Hendo for a top 10 pick.

3 million is the max allowed to purchase a pick.
