Just thought I'd make a thread thanking all my fellow Bobcats fans for supporting this team as passionately as they have the past 6 years. I was thinking back to the first 5 years of the Bobcats and how many dissapointments and close games were lost. How many scrubs we had on our roster, how much bad coaching we witnessed. Now the Bobcats are on the cusp of their first playoff appearance and are starting to get national and local respect. The wagon is starting to fill up FINALLY here in Charlotte, but no one ever recognizes those fans who filled up TWC Arena and or supported this team passionately 3-4 years ago when things werent as bright or glamourous. IMO, those fans are the best in the NBA, because its one thing to support a team when its winning. Helll its one thing to support a team that has won in the past but is losing now. But its an entirely different animal to support a losing team that had never won. In fact, those fans dont get recognized enough locally. So to all my die-hard Bobcats fans who've been riding with the team from day 1, I salute you. To the webmaster Ziggy, I remember when you started this site a few years ago and can see how much it is grown. All of your hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated. Bobcats fans lets cherish the next few weeks and realize that all the hard work Mr.Johnson, Mr. Jordan, & Coach Brown have put into this thing is about to pay off. From King Taharqa, #1 Bobcats fan in the land, I love all you guys and cant wait to cheer beside you come playoff time. GO BOBCATS!!!

yeah out of my group of friends there was only me and one other guy that wanted to go the expansion draft announcements, so we went. over the years we've been to a lot of games but it was always hard to convince anyone to go with us. over the last 2 months or so our other friends have been beggin to go with us to the games, and they watch most of them on tv :D
its funny to see the same guy who looked depressed to hand over 10 dollars for the ticket in 06 now ask us if we should move up and get some 30 dollar ones haha

I agree. I have been watching this team since it was first created, and know a lot about the type of people that make up the 'core' of our fan base. You have to be devoted in order to love a team that screws up as much as this one has.
We also now have bandwagon fans. While i dont really like the concept of people who only care when we win, the fact that we are good enough to catch the eyes of the masses is something i can appreciate.

Bobcats fans don't get the respect they should, due in part to Charlotte losing the Hornets. We were real lucky the NBA was willing to give North Carolina another chance so quickly. Seattle and Vancouver will probably not see franchises for a long time, if not ever.
All that said, I think the state of North Carolina houses the best basketball fans in the nation. The "problem" so to speak is that they are all ACC College fans (UNC, Duke, NC State, Wake....) I love college basketball coming from Marquette University and our guy Dwayne Wade. At the end of the day though, college basketball is just...college basketball. You can say the college game is better because it requires teamwork and is absent of greedy contract players . I've heard all these arguments.
In my opinion the NBA is still head and shoulders above the college game. Plus, its like comparing apples and oranges. They both have completely different styles, tempos, strategy... If MJ can figure a way to convert UNC/Duke fans into Bobcat fans without drafting from these schools then Charlotte can once again be a top 10 NBA city. Just my thoughts. Interested to see what you guys think also.

Unfortunately, 6 years on we still have scrubs on our team. I expect that every year we'll have at least one. Seems like team policy, have one crap player at all times on roster (taking up a chunk of salary cap).

If Sean May were still here he would use his food magic to take those chunks and make:

i'm just excited to get to see the cats on TV!!!!
hopefully tnt and espn will carry their playoff games.
if it's nba tv and fsn i'm screwed.
I've been here since day 1 and to be honest, this is one of the best NBA seasons ever for me...
1 - We have the greatest coach to ever grace the sidelines in Charlotte.
2 - We made the moves needed to get a competitive, playoff caliber roster.
3 - We can beat any team on any given night. Last night in Orlando, Lakers, Cleveland, etc...
4 - MJ, who is my favorite player of all time, buys the team outright. I know there are plenty of naysayers out there but I have no doubt in my mind that MJ will do whatever it takes to make a winner.
5 - Plenty of people who dis the NBA name teamwork and defense as issues...If your watching this team, you know that teamwork and defense are 2 of our strongpoints.
I just love watching this team compete. Damn am I lucky! Go Bobcats!
