Pretty friggin ugly isn't it? Just about as ugly as the Pacers season.

If we can avoid overlooking these guys and win this game that we are "supposed" to win, then we might be able to get a little separation from the Heat, Bulls and Raptors.

We got this on Tuesday Night, Right?

Is Granger back? Either way it shouldn't matter, as long as we aren't overlooking them (which I believe we aren't) we should win this game.

The bucks only beat them by 4 the other night no telling what kind of team will show up to play for the pacers. They are a dangerous team though, hungry for a win. They are going to come at us hard at home esp if they know we are without wallace.

We need to win this because it doesn't get any easier over the next few games. After this we get the Thunder, Hawks, Heat. All possible playoff contenders.

Starting out on a 4 game in 5 night swing with only tomorrow night's being at home, I figure we'll be damn lucky to go .500 but of course I'd prefer to win every one. Tonight is probably our easiest opponent, and a victory in Indy would give us a franchise record win streak. We're probably not looking to have Crash back til Friday night vs. ATL:

Bobcats ready to set another franchise record in Indiana (http://www.bobcatsbreak.com/?p=2008)

The Bobcats will continue to play without Gerald Wallace, who is receiving treatments on his sprained left ankle. His boot has been removed, but he did not participate in practice today. Perhaps a weekend return in Atlanta or Miami sounds like a target for his return.Hulk JR gets another start:

Tuesday: Bobcats at Pacers, 8 p.m (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2010/03/15/1316398/tuesday-bobcats-at-pacers-8-pm.html)

and once again Bonnell puts up the wrong start time.

Jax still searching for the love from Indy:

Where's the love? Stephen Jackson wishes Pacers fans would remember the good things he did on the court (http://www.indystar.com/article/20100316/SPORTS04/3160318/1088/SPORTS04)

but LB as is his nature is quick to show it:

"I love guys that care about winning and care about their teammates and love to play," Bobcats coach Larry Brown said. "He's a terrific player. I think he's underrated in every area. He's got a very high IQ."

"He does do silly stuff, but that shows me he still cares," Brown said. "He's different. But as long as guys love to play and care about winning and care about their teammates, I'm OK with that."Tonight could so easily be a trap game, but hopefully this group isn't overlooking anyone and they'll play it one at the time. If they do that then we'll have that record win streak.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but i'm kind of expecting a let down. We came off a very emotional game @ Orlando, our confidence is at an all time high, and Indiana beat us in December in a game where it looks deceiving because it took Charlotte to rally in the 4th to get us within range to tie the game.

We should feel the effect of not having Wallace tonight.

This is exactly my concern as well. LB has to get on these guys before hand and make sure they are all focused, to a man. We will need the same type effort tonight as we had in Orlando.

The bench took a 4 point lead at the end of the 1st quarter and promptly ran it to a 5-7 deficit.LB actually needed to take the 2nd string out earlier, but the foul trouble to Graham and Ratliff messed it up.

Thomas was the only one out of the 2nd unit who wasn't costing the team.

And this game reiterates my point by deferring too much to Jax. He is at his best when he can go for a relatively quick score or get rid of the ball and not being point forward for the offense. He is a good secondary playmaker, but he is not Lebron, D-Wade, Kobe, Roy, etc through whom you can run an offense consistently.

Katy is warming up and getting ready to bar the door!!! Not a reverse psychology statement but a real one. Captain Jack alone will not win or lose this game. An inexperienced and overconfident Bobcats team as a whole will lose this game tonight.

If they lose that is.

110oldeast
03-16-2010, 08:31 PM
Nope. The ball was continually given to him, we played weak defense (giving up uncontested 3s), several players turned it over. They were flat.

And yes Jax was horrendous.

Jax was the ONLY starter out there for much of the time. In the 1st quarter when he was out there as well the team ended the quarter with a 4 pt lead.

So, the bench along with Jax has to take the blame for that quick 9-11 pt turnaround.

Wrong. Jax did that all on his own.

That was my point. And I am not disagreeing about Jax sucking. I am saying that he was also out there when we got a 4 pt lead. To absolve the other 4 players on the court for the turnaround isn't accurate. He is especially terrible, but they weren't innocent.

When Jax is being stupid and selfish it does hurt the team but at the same time other players can take it on themselves to make something happen and avoid Jax. Might cause some shit but coach Brown can straighten that shit out.

The Bobcats have allowed the Pacers to feel like a number one seed in the conference and it is too late for the Bobcats to wrest that momentum away. The Bobcats as a whole were not motivated to play good basketball. Jax as well thinks he needs to carry the team when it is obvious tonight he can not and should back of trying to. His teammates should not let him try.

Despite the fact that neither pg has played especially well, the difference is that DJ has deferred too much to Jax tonight in the same what that Felton was during our poor stretch of offense. If you just pass the ball Jax and get out of the way, he will go into "Kobe-lite" mode without the skillset.

BOTH pgs have to be more assertive in running the offense. Jackson is A scoring option and A secondary playmaker in the offense. He cannot be THE scoring option and THE PRIMARY playmaker.

When either pg has run the offense assertively, we have gotten better shots. With the 2nd unit, there has been more isolation with Jack and/or Thomas leading to lower quality shots.

PS: It would be nice to see Felton push the ball in transition more. I will say it again, his potential there in terms of playmaking has been wasted his entire time here. We have the guys to run the floor with him, but we don't seem to make a concerted effort to do it.

I think everyone realizes the 2nd quarter was the culprit and it it started downhill pretty quickly when we subbed in our bench. You were right tho...it was more everyone deferring to Jax and he was playing 1 v World. Hard to fault the bench for that (I did think their D was pretty lax)...that was on LB. Just like in the SAC game he let him pretty much shoot us out of the game.

To LB's credit Jax did turn it on in the 4th, but it's not like I want him to flat bench the guy. There has to be a happy medium somewhere between that and playing him 47 minutes and change.
