Interesting...very weird. That whole team can't seem to get a break, maybe he's the bad luck charm :p
I find the timing odd...he got a raise and his position was elevated 10 months ago...I have to think he was actively trying to get the Clippers GM position and it got him fired...nothing else makes sense to me...

If Pritchard gets it next, I'll love it.

Even then, most team's have the class to wait until he either gets the job or not to fire him, at least from what I've seen.
Only thing I can compare it to is BC's Jeff Jagozinski interviewing for an NFL job and getting canned for it.

teej...I thought it was written in Jagosinski's contract that he could not interview for another job while under contract and that was why they fired him...correct me if I'm wrong...
Another question...I keep hearing Paul Allen got really angry with Penn during (in the draft room) the 2007 draft...do you know the story?

I don't remember Jag's deal too much, other than he ended up getting fired by Tampa before the season started. If that was written into his contract then it's his fault.
And with Penn, they traded twice for players with "cash considerations" so I'm assuming Allen didn't want Penn spending or spending like he did.
This indicates that Penn was threatening to expose (blackmail) some incident of Blazer president Larry Miller...this entire situation just keeps getting weirder...

Also: “Sources say Allen was upset he was unaware that Rudy Fernandez (through his agent) demanded a trade before the Feb. 22 deadline.”
That organization is f'd up.
Apparently the Portland fans are calling for KP's head, too. :g:
This whole (Portland organization) is starting to get beyond weird...just glad it is them...
I'm adding this ESPN link (H. Abbott) does a good job of outlining the situation...

There is a lot of talent on that team. It would be a shame for the instability of the front office to cause that team to lose some of that young talent. They look to be set for a strong next 10 years if Oden ever stays healthy for them.
