View Full Version : Maybe we should flip our young talent

It might sound crazy but we need to resign and possibly upgrade the team and get possibly a top 5-7 Bobcat in Ford (which he would be)

Tyrus Thomas 6-7 million
Raymond Felton 6-7 million
Larry Hughes-2-4 million
Graham-2-3 million
Theo Ratliff-2 million

They also need to get a team to take on Tyson Chandler's contract or Nazr's contract for a 2nd round pick to save money to resign those guys and to not be a luxary team and maybe to get T.J. Ford and keep Felton they can still pull that off with D.J.-Hendo-Nazr.

Maybe if they get rid of Nazr and Tyson maybe they keep Lexi but the young prospects I am reffering to do not include Ray-Ty- of course.

I think if we put

Henderson
Brown
Lexi
D.J.

in a package to a team under the cap who aren't getting a big time free agent like the Kings.

I think the Kings may take Tyson Chandler and Nazr if we throw in Gerald Henderson and Derrick Brown.
We don't need Henderson if we keep Graham and Hughes because Hendo is totally not neccasarry with our wings being Jackson-Wallace-Graham-Hughes plus 2 guys who can play sf in Diaw and Tyrus.

The Bobcats would be left with the core guys and have good luck and get rid of Tyson and Nazr for a 2nd round pick and buy a 2nd rounder they are left with

Centers 3 rotation C's
Diop-They should play him because A.they pay him alot n he is a good a 7 footer who can clog the lane, board and block shots. He can almost earn his money.
Theo-Still a good backup for another 2 years imo
Lexi-I think he will be ready to be a 10-15 minute player next year

Forwards 4 rotation F's

Diaw-Can play C also so they should shed Nazr and Tyson which is 20 million
Wallace-So good for Bobcats they should change the name to the Crash
Tyrus Thomas-the forward version of Camby and the future and now
Graham-Can also play sg.

Guard's 4 rotation G's

Felton
Jackson
D.J. or T.J. Ford if they can pull that off
Hughes

That is 11 good rotation players. If they can get an nba talent in the 2nd round that would be great of if they give away Tyson and somebody maybe they can get a player or 2 who can play.
Maybe pick up Mustafa Shukor and Kenny Thomas to fill out the team and have 13-15 players.

I would honestly look at it as a good offseason even if they lost all 4 1st and 2nd year guys and Tyson and Nazr if they resigned there 5 free agents and got T.J. Ford.

I would look at that as an upgrade.

Bobcats ideally need a third goto scorer to be championship complete and of course if they got go to guy that makes Jackson and Wallace 2nd and third but that isn't gonna happen and with there D and depth I think they really only need another guy you can put it in his hands and he can score for himself and make the game easier for others.
I think if the Bobcats kept there 5 free agents and got T.J. Ford they would be a hell of alot better next year then now.
They would no longer be offensively challenged and would be on the way to being the best defensive team in the game with Hughes and Tyrus having a full camp and another year of Brown.
They would have a double figure scorers at every spot but the C and 1 off the bench.
I think T.J. Ford would probably take the reigns as the starter cause he can score better and make plays better. He is the weaker defender but the offense would flow better.
They would also have the third best 1-2 pg punch outside of the Hornets and Raptors in Jack-Calderon. I don't count the Bulls cause Kirk is playing the 2 and does it well enough to be considered a 2 while playing it.
Don't get me wrong Deron Williams and guys like that are better but if you count the backup they have would have best depth.

Raymond Felton is the only pg who might be considered good or even a starter. He is the only one with youth and talent.
I hope he doesn't get any other offer but the midlevel and signs with us for the midlevel area plus bonus's.
That is what we should give him. Same money as the midlevel except we throw bonus incentives in the deal, some on play and we throw 1 he will be confident he can get which is games played.

He never has been close in his career except for this year. Is he now and he just needed the chance in the right system? Gerald Wallace is overall the Bobcats best player but with his offensive style he is a 2nd-3rd best player on a team.

I think since Jackson and Wallace will be our 2 best players for a while and maybe they should be 2nd and third for a team to be a championship team they might need 1 more double digit guy.

I think they should go after T.J. Ford even if they do resign Felton.

I think the deal that feel threw should be tried again. Nazr-D.J.-Henderson and Derrick Brown for T.J. Ford and Donthay Jones would be very good.

I think Ford-Felton would combine to be equal to a star pg or it would give them enough depth and enough double figure scorers to make up for it. They would kind of be like the Larry Brown Pistons.

Ben Wallace-Theo
Sheed-Diaw
Prince-Wallace
Rip-Jackson
Billips-Felton

Similar. Were defenately just as good potentially on D and honestly we are better on offense. They got away with not having a big 3 scoring punch or a superstar and won a championship.

Ramon Sessions is the most underrated player in the league. He can't even get minutes on the TWolves playing behind a rookie. Now Flynn is good but he isn't Stephen Curry-Brandon Jennings rookie good. (Tyreke Evans isn't a rookie to me he is a superstar)

If they can somehow pull of D.J. and Henderson for Ramon Sessions and keep Felton if he is dueable for 6 million or less per then that would be fantastic. Even if Felton left if they got Sessions all they would need would be a backup like Chris Duhon and and having Hughes as the backup combo guard.

Sessions is a 18 and 7 guy if he starts. He would be there legit 3rd scoring option and would make them have a legit big 3. 3 guys who come close to scoring 20 or more a game.

I know Diaw and Tyrus wouldn't start together but if they did or let's just say when they go with that lineup the

Diaw
Tyrus
Wallace
Jackson
Sessions

That would be a team that could take the C's spot of top 4 team in the East and if JJ leaves makes them a top 3 team in the East although if they are able to resign all 5 of there free agents or at least the best 3 Hughes-Tyrus-Ray they can be a top 3 in the East next year anyway.

Sessions has always been one of my favorite players in the NBA, and i used to blog about him all the time before most people even knew who he was. I love the guy, but i dont see him fitting in here. He deserves to start not back Felton up. Felton is our guy, so its a conflict of interests.

DJ and Henderson (if we wanted to package them, i would also want to include Diop's contract) could fetch a better fit for us than Sessions. But lets wait and see what we need before we look for it.

jax is a legit no. 1 option on offense. when he was in indiana they had j. oneal, artest,j. tinsley, reggie miller and golden state had b. davis, j rich, monte ellis, jamal crawford all players with pretty good offensive games. jax blended in well with those players and still put up decent numbers. i don't know why people think he is a ball hog because before he came here he only averaged 13 shots a game. before jax we only averaged 88 pts a game now we average close to 98 . we picked him up because we needed someone we could pencil in for 20 a night. I would like to see him post up more because he is a match up problem with his height for most 2 guards in the league

Trading young cheap talent is almost always a bad idea in the nba unless you don't believe those players will ever be good. I still think Brown and Hendo will be good. Lexi could be good.

As for the vets you mentioned. If Ford wants to sign for the vet min fine he isn't worth more. If Graham wants to resign for the min fine. If Felton wants more than 6 mil the right move is to let him walk. We should offer Tyrus the qualifying offer and see what happens. The guy we should be exploring a trade for is Jackson.
