Well, I've been reading on the forum a lot, and I have to say that the correct move is to move jackson(he is a great player, but what if we got a great player that we could have for years(maybe Joe Johnson too))in the off-season. Let the players mesh together with G-Force being Don Corleone. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO RESIGN FELTON, HE TRULY SOLD HIS HEART TO THE GAME OF BASKETBALL. Haha, I just notice little things like that.

Jackson for Jrich?
Jackson has turned around the franchise. Loyalty?

J-Rich is currently in his ideal role: fringe starter where his principal purpose is to drain open jumpers created from someone else. He can't create, he can't pass, and he can't defend.
And he's getting paid $13,000,000 this season - $14,000,000. That is INSANE.

Plus I think Jrich is on the serious decline. I think Nash just hides it well. JRich of yesteryear the one who got 25 a game on Warriors and then 20 here would have been ripping it up on the nash suns.

Why would we do this? we already had j rich traded him because he had no handle with the ball shot to many threes and he played no defense. again i ask for someone to please supply evidence that jack is on the decline. without him we don't even make the playoffs this year. he was traded for to put 20 a night to spread the floor, and by the way he is the only person on the team that the other team feels it needs to double no matter what. every one else including wallace are double when they are hot or close to the basket
Absolutely no reason to trade our number one option in his prime for a washed up street baller who's paid even more.
And J-Rich wasn't exactly happy here.

Sure, let's trade a guy who makes big shots and plays tough for a guy who is a glorified 3-point shooter with no defense. Sounds like a great deal to me.

Now that you mention it, stephen jackson is still pretty good, but I'm just trying to think long-term and maybe 2, 3 years down the road really try to upgrade our starting shooting guard from jackson.

It only took us a couple of weeks into the season to find a way to shake the team up and land jackson to completely change our season. as long as we dont stray to far into lux tax territory our saddle ourselves with unmovable long term contracts(think if okafor was still here) we should be able to tweak the team every 2 years if needed

Unless we get a Dwayne Wade type player, there really aren't that many players who would be a clear cut upgrade over Jack.
Jason Richardson would clearly be a step backward, not forward at our SG position.

We can't make a trade until after the playoffs anyway and a lot of Jacks value is going to depend on how he performs. J-Rich would not be the right move in any case though for the reasons stated in this thread.

First i would like to welcome you to Bobcatsplanet . Though i don't like the J Rich idea i understand what you saying. I read MJ saying as much some where just a few days ago . Depending on how far and how well we show in the playoffs . Will determine what off season moves we make . I could see JAX as a trading piece. Not as a core piece to start over . But im thinking much younger talent and or draft picks if moved. Though im not sure of hiis value . But he would make a great piece on a team going after a champion ship.
Though i can't see any desision made til season end on long term moves.

I've thought about this too, how much time Jack has left in his prime, but Kobe is 31 too... I think some guys that have a sound mental game and a solid all-around game tend to age better than one-dimensional guys.
I think Jack has at least 3 more all-star level years left (all-star meaning his current level of play).
As far as you saying thinking 2-3 years later... Well, Joe Johnson is a free agent this offseason.

I'll go along the lines of saying trade Jax for D Wade, Joe Johnson or Eric Gordan with Chris Kaman other than that he's a Cat until his contract is up. We can make space with other players and cut cost that way instead of giving up our best scroing option

Trading Jackson during the off season would surprise me, but if the right offer came along I would be open to it. I feel Jackson's arrival gave this team some credibility. Even though we have lost a lot of games I think we could have won, I think Jackson and G-Force kept the team from rolling over for the most part. That bad stretch after the All-Star break would have written off most teams. But let's not start talking about trading Jackson because his recent shooting slump has cost us the last two games.

He wasn't the only reason. Far from it.
He shot 9-20 in the Atlanta game, that's pretty darn good. And Ray's mental lapse was just as important as anything else. And that Miami game was horrible by everyone.

I'm the biggest Jack fan on the planet and I can readily admit he was the key reason for the last two losses.
However, we should all have confidence in him because he's singlehandedly won plenty of games this season. Dude will bounce back very soon and in a significant way.

Did you watch the games?
Ray not fouling Johnson probably cost us the ATL game. It at least was as bad as any of Jack's misses, I'll put it that way.
And the Miami game, no one could make a shot, all of Jack's looks were good for him. And it's not like we could trust anyone else. We had one field goal the whole fourth quarter. That's not just Jack. It's partly Jack, but it's not just him. Ray and DJ were the only ones to shoot over 40%, and that's only 13 of our 72 attempts. Diaw, Crash, Tyrus, Stevie, Theo, Tyson, even Larry could've altered the game to the point where we could've won even with Jack's Barack Obama performace. And to you democrats, the Clipper game was his George Bush impersonation.
teej...if Jax had hit those two FTs this would not be a conversation...game would have been ours...Rays' "brain fart" was just icing on the cake...

I'm not hating on Jax but he lost those last 2 games for us in the 4th quarter by jacking up all those 3s and hitting none.

I don't want J. Rich. J Rich is a decent player, but he wouldn't fit in the LB system. J. Rich is very high octane, loves to score but can't play an inch of D. If J. Rich had the D of Raja Bell, I would think about it.
In 2-3 years time, I'm hoping Hendo turns into a servicable starting SG. We would have a more athletic better scoring Raja then.
J Rich is a decent player, but he didn't fit in the LB system.
Fixed.
LB already traded him once. He's not going to get him back.

JAX and CRASH are our best two trading chips. If we suck in the playoffs . I think MJ starts to rebuild . JAX for sure at his age isn't core material, Hes building material. So trading him for good young core assets makes sence.
CRASH is he core material thats even a harder question . Hes for sure a number two option on most teams. But with a battered rep. How may good years does the legs have ?
If our showing in the playoffs isn't good . I could see a major change in personal.
