Why does Ratliff always get the start over Chandler?

I think its because Ratliff is a better overall defender, Chandler is still recovering and is a nice energy bust off the bench with TT. Plus Ratliff is doing pretty well offensively compared to what we thought he would do so I'm not really complaining...I personally like TT & Chandler combo coming off the bench
Because Theo is the older, smarter guy, and Tyson works well as a bench guy. Tyson has apparently said he's happy coming off the bench since it works, and I'm glad he's bought into the team concept.
And once Nazr gets back, it'll be even more of a logjam.
Have we ever had a logjam of starting centers??

For as much grief as I've given him, gotta admit that I've been loving TC off the bench. Ratliff has been a great surprise. As down on Chandler as I was before the season began, I would've thought up many available center names before Theo. Unless he's really out of shape or something, Mohammed or Ratliff ought to give us a good enough starting center with some good options off the bench. For sure the most depth we've ever had at the 5.
Theo has really provided an unexpected boost for the team. He's obviously not a long term answer, but he's exactly what we need right now.

I think Chandler should start. I also think Theo and Nazr should get quality minutes. I really think Tyrus should start too. That is our best defensive team Ray/Jack/Gerald/TT/Chandler
Chandler deserves to start now more then he did early in the year over Nazr based on his play.
doris does a better job moving the offense especially when we need it most like the beginning of the game. he opens the floor, can hit the three and is a better passer. TT is better playing when the game is already in the flow and we either have a lead or we know what the game is going to be like.
Wow, I was just thinking about this last night. I think we are a way better team with Theo starting. Think about how many quick fouls TC picked up in the first couple of minutes of the game. Theo is playing great right now and I don't think we should change it as long as we are successful. TC off the bench brings so much energy. I have also seen TC and Theo on the court together a little. Chandler as our starting center is pretty good. Tyson off the bench is great however.
Who, in their right mind, had any idea Theo would be bringing it like he has?

Not even Theo or LB.
And from now on, I promise to never say Theo Ratliff's expiring contract again. He's more valuable than most centers with 3 or 4 year deals.

1. Larry trusts Theo more because of their history together.
2. Without Larry dogging him for every mistake (which he is known for doing a lot of to the starters) Tyson is actually playing good. The reduced role came with reduced responsibility, and since Tyson doesnt have the highest basketball iq that proved to be a good thing.
It does seem (as others have pointed out) that TC is more relaxed with the pressure off...it is certainly to the teams advantage to have him contribute regardless of it coming as a starter or off the bench...
It is also nice that with the balance that we have (other four starters can score) that we do not have to rely on scoring from the 5 position and can start a "pure" defense guy if we want...the thing that I'll like is having Nazr back to help balance that offense/defense from the 5 position...
