The Raptors are 2.5 games behind the Cats (as of Saturday afternoon). Let's kick that ass and send them back home with an 'L'

Fuck yeah!! Monday Night Bobcats game is the only time I am excited for a Monday!!
Let's Go Cats!!!!
Our two biggest wins this year (and ever) came at home vs. Toronto and Miami. Let's make this one our biggest of them all. I want Henderson and Brown playing at least the last 8 minutes.

I think we are a sure lock for the playoffs now. Now we have to look towards seeding. Don't want to play the magic or celtics 1sr rd, really bad matchups for us.

Toronto is comming off a tough game yesterday. With the Cats rested and at home, this should be a win. But cannot be overconfident. LB has to make sure the guys are ready and focused.

I wish the Bobcats would stop trying to run plays for Theo Ratliff.
If Dell Curry could avoid words with the "O" sound, like "go," "show", "Theo", "Toronto", "over", the world would be a much better place.

True, if TC had went more to his right it'd have hit him right in the stomach. Thing is TC is best when it's high and he doesn't have to do anything other than flush it.
Eh. There were a lot more things we should have done throughout the game better than we did...should have won this easily.
Jax shat the bed 4/5s of the game and Crash was slow to start. If we're relying on Felton to be the main threat in the starters we're hurting anyway.

Agreed. Eric Lewis cleary wanted Jack on the bench and as was documented by Dell and Steve, he called each of the first 5? fouls in the fourth quarter. Unbelievable.

Sure, except for one thing. They had 9 attempts going into the fourth, and they're a jump shooting team. We're a dunks and layups team. Jack was sat for a good 5 minutes when they made their run, and while he may have deserved his fourth foul (debateable) his fifth foul wasn't even close to an offensive foul, and that ended up being a 5 to 6 point swing where we could've been up 7 but were only up one. Or maybe when Tyson was fouled off-ball, and we didn't get to keep the ball? Larry said postgame there was no explanation for that, any of Jax's fouls, Theo's goaltend, or anything else. He said the officials were "hard to communicate with" and it's obvious that they weren't close to accurate.
Now, I'm not apologizing for poor defense and bad execution on offense, or even for letting them draw us into playing their game. We played poorly, but with perfect officiating, or just plain unbiased officiating, I have no doubt we would've won.
That being said, Ray and Tyson blew that last play, and we should've taken it to overtime. I'm not sure who's fault that was, because it was a set play to drive and dish, but it was also a bad pass. So it's everyone's fault - we got outplayed.

I wish we had four more guys like Gerald Wallace. Jackson needs to just play ball and not worry about the refs. He is a vet and he needs to act like it. Everybody in the building new he was going to get that T. We are lucky they missed the free throw or it would have been one point worse.
What a terrible loss. We get hot shooting threes in the first half and somehow lose our scrappy style of play. Outscored 31-23 in the fourth.

Perfect breakdown of WTF happened out there tonight. Ultimately, putrid defense and trying to play the jump-shooting game with a better jump-shooting team did the team in, but there were literally, as it turns out, game-changing calls made out there tonight. The key one for me was the phantom goaltending call on Theo. Now they don't have the greatest replays at the arena, but it still showed the ball was not on its downard path, and it was not being pinned against the glass, so how the hell was it a goaltend?!?! When that incredulous call was made, I made a mental note to self saying, basically, watch them win by 1 or 2 points, and this bullshit call will be the reason. Now, most of the time, I'm never right with these internal dialogues I have with myself during games, but, goddamm it if I wasn't right this time.
And, yeah, Jack's fifth foul was an insult. And even them not allowing Gerald's circus shot to be an "and 1"; I swear I've seen other games where they allow that shot to count. I know you can't throw the ball over the backboard and in, but it looked like his shot ran parallel to the upper corner of the board, slightly clipping it, not entirely over it. And Larry not getting the call for a 4 point play when he was obviously fouled on the follow through on one of his 3s.
Like teej says, the Bobcats lack of intensity and execution lost this game, but the refs played much more of a role in the outcome than they should have..
BobcatsAllDay
03-30-2010, 01:41 AM
Watched from home and the over head cam clearly shows the ball hitting the glass a tenth of a second before Theo blocks the shot. Dell and Steve both agreed with the call. One of those split second calls that didn't go our way. I will give the ref credit on that one b/c I know it was a tough call to make.
This game along with the buzzer beater in Atl sucks. It's no way we lay down vs Philly w/ what's at stake now.

“I yelled ‘quick fist’ which is a mid-screen and roll, and if you don’t have it you throw back and you’ve got an outside shot,” said Bobcats Head Coach Larry Brown about the last play of the game. “I thought (Felton) was trying to do the right thing, just bad execution. Going left, throwing back is pretty tough.”
Larry Brown was so right to be upset about the Wiz game that we won on Friday night as the crap D definitely carried over to this game. From the start I had a bad feeling and it never went away....all the way to the end. Sure that last play ended up being the deciding factor, but we really didn't deserve to win this game regardless.
Maybe this will be a wake up call. We'd better hope so; Philly has been playing well and if we don't turn this around quick we're going to be on a 2 game losing streak.

Free throws...
Before Jax showed his ass and got the technical on the bench at the 3:30 mark of the 3rd quarter:
Bobcats - 19 FTs
Raptors - 6 FTs
After the technical:
Bobcats - 12 FTs
Raptors - 18 FTs
The got almost as many FTs in 15.5 minutes as we did for 31.5 minutes. Granted DJ & Felton falling for those 3 pt pump fakes didn't help, but even those reinforce the thought that the refs really buckled down on us after that incident.
Jax's mouth really hurts us sometimes.

QCH - Raptors win in CLT, take season series (http://www.queencityhoops.com/GameRecap032910.php)
Meritorious Player: Raymond Felton 18 pts, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 turnovers*
I put the asterisk by Felton's three turnovers because I can't totally blame him on his late dish to Tyson Chandler that bounced out of bounds because that was the right play to make given they just got a dunk on a similar pick and roll in the previous possession.
That play is a perfect example of what happens to this team when they lose or don't play well, someone zigs when they're supposed to zag or someone throws a pass when the other guy isn't ready for it and the end result a turnover. Chandler and Felton still are not in sync and Tyson still isn't used to being an offensive option on those screen and rolls save for the rare lob.
I've watched that replay like 10 times now. He is right that we ran a very similar play right before...a bounce pass to TC (no less) that resulted in a flush...but I'm still not sure what the correct play would be on that last possession. I wanted Felton to take the shot, but Bosh was right there waiting to slap it into the stands.
Maybe the best move would have been one of those floaters Felton's become pretty good at?

The perfect play would have been for Felton to throw a high arc lob to Tyson once he drew Bosh, a shot fake jump pass. Even if Tyson is looking for the rebound he would have a chance to react. Honestly I don't know why we don't lob it to him for more dunks. He plays better when he gets a few buckets.
The pass he threw was a good pass though. He just faked Tyson out along with all the raptors players.

Maybe the best move would have been one of those floaters Felton's become pretty good at? Yeah, I thought Raymond went too deep, and should've gone with the big floaty, and if he misses, maybe we could get a weakside miracle a la Gerald's putback vs. Memphis. Once he passed the FT line with no intent to shoot, and with Bosh waiting on him down low, I knew it wouldn't end pretty.
