Keep losing. Bobcats (but just enough) (http://scottfowlerobs.blogspot.com/2010/03/keep-losing-bobcats-but-just-enough.html)

I wasn't at all unhappy to see that the Charlotte Bobcats blew a home game Monday night against Toronto, 103-101.

Why? Because I am hoping that the Bobcats end up in the playoffs as the No.8 seed, and that loss made it a little more likely that they would do just that. The Bobcats still lead Toronto by two games with nine to go in the current NBA standings (http://www.nba.com/standings/team_record_comparison/conferenceNew_Std_Cnf.html)for the No.7 spot, but if the two teams tie, Toronto now would win the tiebreaker.

I definitely didn't like reading his article after reading this one.

We cant afford to jockey. I am pretty sure our organization is aware of that. Too much is on the line.

There is a reason Fowler doesn't write much about the Bobcats .... because he doesn't know enough. The Bobcats are still in the running for 5th place and even 6th could get them matched up with the Hawks.

Scott: Go Away, no one likes you.

This is the jackass who's been promoting the name change BS, too. He's just a jealous moron.

Bingo! I have no respect for Scott Fowler. All he does is write fluff pieces. I'm not even sure he does any research at all. I certainly don't wish unemployment on anyone, but with newspapers doing so poorly, it begs the question, how does he have this particular job?

The problem with internet journalism is that "writers" can pretty much just write whatever comes into their heads whenever it comes into their heads. If it was going in the paper, they usually had a few hrs to think about what they were going to write and whether or not it made them sound like a complete idiot.

I saw this the other day, and I think it fits this thread pretty well.

He's a VERY casual fan of the Bobcats who feels the need to write about them whenever they do something noteworthy.

Someone had wrote this before here on Bobcats Planet...I get 100 times more information from THIS website in a week than I have ever received from Fowler during the Bobcats entire existence.

How true.

He is truely an idiot. I have nothing more to say. Look up idiot in the thesaurus, and there's what I describe him as.

Gonna take the dissenting opinion and agree in principal that a series with the Cavs would be best for growing the fan base and getting media exposure for the team and its players. Will disagree with his general tone in making the point.

Agree.

The idea of playing the Cavs in the first round is sound. However, the approach of the article-- let's lose-- wasn't by a long shot. This team has to try and win as many games as possible. Suggesting it's o.k. to lose a few isn't productive in the slightest, even if we clinch the playoffs.

I disagree with that statement entirely.
One, if we do fall to 8th seed at seasons end it would be because we aren't playing well. Then consequently we won't have any momentum or a positive attitude needed to just compete in the playoffs. As a young team possibly playing in it's 1st playoff series,we need all the positives we can get.We would be steam rolled in the 1st round against Cleveland because they will have all the factors we wouldn't like momentum, experience, positive attitude and morale.
I know we have won the regular season series against them but the playoffs are a different animal and if you take all these factors into consideration we have no hope of competing against the Cavs.
My 2 cents.

Like I just posted in the playoffs thread...tonight Cleveland got 45 FTs to Milwaukee's 9.

They're going to get every possible call in the post season.

How Fowler is still gainfully employed at a major newspaper is incomprehensible. His articles are so idiotic and ludicrous that it is embarrassing to journalist everywhere.

He mostly does Panthers commentary. He states the painfully obvious (note his article 4 years ago pointing out that if the Panthers outscore their opponent, they will win). After every win, he comments on how the Panthers will make the playoffs, and after every loss, how they may be one of the worst teams in the NFL.

He must have pictures of someone in a compromising position.
