Since we have made the playoffs, future seasons should be considered a failure if we don't make the playoffs. Our new goal should be the NBA finals. No excuses. May take us a few years, but with success comes new goals.

I think this team as is has the blueprint to be successful for the next 3-5 years if:
- re-sign felts
- re-sign T2
- lb sticks around for the next 3-5
- ship out at least one preferably two of our albatross contract bigs
- dj, ajinca, hendo, and ups get some good burn in '10-'11
- somehow get back into the mid-late first round in this years' draft if a solid player slides
i'm on the fence with hughes and graham, but i would like one of them retained. i think hughes is better than he's been and some serious play time chemistry with the rest of the team would only improve his game next year. tyson is finally starting to play well and could fall under the same category as hughes only his problem was being near 100% healthy. worst case, we unload his expiring at the deadline for assets. either way, this team from start to finish would probably give Atlanta a run for the Southeast crown.....IMO.

Well if LB sticks around then we dont need to worry about draft picks, he doesn't believe in building teams from rookies. Older guys who play the right way and maybe don't fit in where they are is how he builds teams...
Jackson, T2, Ratliff,
It is going to be hard to predict the future of this team with LB here...

And just when I thought the franchise was moving past the Paul obsession....

The next goal should be sustaining our success and posting another winning season next season. People in Charlotte havent experienced that from a local pro sports team in awhile.

Larry Brown stays for 5-7 years? Are you insane? Larry will leave. If he stays 1 more year I will be very impressed.

Dex -- Where in this thread did it say 5-7 yrs? Must've been that same place where Tyson Chandler is 7'3" maybe? Before you start 17 random threads, re-hash topics that have already been brought up, and exaggerate other people's words, perhaps you should read posts closer.

With MJ as owner I believe this will be LB's last stop. I would say 2 maybe maybe maybe 3 years more.
My goal for the playoffs are a 6 game series at minimum. They can beat Orlando, but a good showing will earn them a passing grade. Every thing after that will be gravy.

Pray LB trips over a bananna peel breaks his back and neck therefore can't coach ever again,Jerry Sloan loses his job because Utah suck and MJ hires him as our next coach.
No seriously though another year of LB and a trade of TC for Al Jefferson should do the trick.
