I have to admit, I'm a sucker for infomercials
But has anybody here tried it? If so, what kind of results did you have?

never done it but i've heard some great results. my brother in law has done it and liked it. you also get the people that tell you that it didn't work and was a total scam as they eat their 6th slice of pizza and guzzle down pepsi. it only works if you are dedicated, especially to the diet part (which I will never be...)
Mike Hill on ESPN does it, he's told me that like CN says, you have to be totally commited to it. Also, it'll wear you out quickly.
the workouts are really pretty good, given a baseline fitness level of somewhat active. my general problem with the workouts is that it is advertised to the general public who are usually somewhere between a fat slob and total softee on the fitness scale and the workouts are way too advanced and intense with the likelihood of injury being pretty high. kinda like cross fit.
as for the diet. it is a standard low carb beginning phase guaranteed to lose 5-10 pounds in the first 2 weeks, mostly due to water loss. the next phase re-introduces some carbs back in, progressing to the maintenance phase. i don't mind the last two phases as a typical diet, p90x does a good job emphasizing mono-unsaturated fats, relatively low in animal proteins and saturated fats and high in whole grains and omega-3 fats.
overall, i give it a B-B+ for mainstream diet fad, given you skip the first diet phase and take your time with the exercise. realize though, that weight loss 75-80% what you eat (or don't eat) rather than exercise.

P90X looks a lot better than the vibro dumbell they have shown the last few nights.

I've been looking into home Summer workout circuits as I'll be working everyday and don't want to pay a monthly fee for a gym.
P90x and Crossfit were the two main ones I was looking at. Crossfit looks to be more bulky (in terms of equipment) and geared a little more towards size. P90x looks to be more weighted cardio based. I'm going to look more into them and pick either one. I'll let you know which way I go Zig.

I've heard a few people mention the time commitment necessary. are we talking an hour per day, 2 hours per day?

I did some of the lower body workouts last year for soccer practice when the weather wouldn't cooperate. The routines are usually an hour long (with short breaks) but it could be longer if you aren't as physically fit as most, or shorter if you don't like taking breaks.
Has anyone ever used that Tower 200 15 minute workout that Randy Couture uses? I've heard a couple people say it's worth it but somehow using a door for your weight equipment doesn't sound like a workout...

That looks like its an "explosive" workout thing focusing on short power bursts. Not necessarily optimal for the general fitness level most people go for. Unless you're looking to build muscle mass and overall size, cardio-based exercises (like p90x) are what you want to go for.
