Next year the Nets will have added John Wall plus a free agent, the Knicks will have added star power.
If we are gonna expect to go far or even get in again we need another star or for D.J. or Tyrus to break out. I say them because they are the one's with the best or only chance.

sign Carlos Boozer.

Carlos Boozer will probably go to NY and possibly (hate to say this) Felton.

We are kind of like a team of a supporting cast. It's like were the Magic without Howard. We need somebody else.

The Knicks might not be a threat though, they always find a way to lose.

We'll have money freed up after next season...this upcoming year is about seeing if the existing guys can gel and make any noise.

Patience.

Not if they resign Ray and Ty.

Which is why I am now leaning towards trading for Ford (Nazr and Hendo) and going with DJ nd Ford cause Ford will be a free agent.

This year

Tyson
Tyrus-Diaw
Wallace
Jackson
DJ-Ford

Year after that they got cap room and MJ to recruit which they need to take advantage of now because as these kids get younger MJ they will not have been watching him and Kobe and Lebron will be the guys they grew up on.

So we need 1 more star...

because of the Nets and the Knicks?

Sorry, I do not fear them.

no need to fear the nets, knicks or whomever. names don't matter, the knicks have had names and spent money for years and still haven't made the playoffs much less won a championship. you have to have chemistry and the right mix of players which we have, and don't worry about felton he will still be here next year

or Marbury and the list go on and on. by the way wall has only proved that he is a good college player, we don't know what type of pro he will be. players with his type of talent crop up every year but we'll see if he develops

I've never been a huge fan of building around a "star"...I'd rather have a solid team of "blue collar" guys...like we have...:p

Building around a star is usually how you become a title contender. The '04 Pistons are the only example of a title contender not having been built around a star that I can think of. I'd love to have a star. Wish we would have drafted Roy, too bad we got Morrison... Lopez would have been a good piece as well. We just plain suck at drafting and it's going to be hard for us to draft or sign a star with the situation we're in.

The '04 Pistons? Larry's '04 Pistons? I wouldn't mind if Larry's 04 Piston championship is followed by Larry's '11 Bobcats Championship.

You forgot Larry's '10 Bobcats Championship.

I think this team can do great things, but we'd have to play the Cavs and Celtics, then the Lakers to even have a shot. It's not happening. Yet.
