I am watching the Bulls game and there are promos for the NBA Playoffs starting this weekend on FS Carolinas. Are our playoff games going to be covered there? If that's the case, that is complete BS. Would this mean that our series is the one being covered by NBA TV?

I wouldn't mind having an alternative to NBA TV, given that I don't have it. I just don't understand how we aren't on national tv. If only one series gets the shaft, it should definitely be the Hawks-Bucks series. I would be surprised if the Bucks won more than one game.

I will flip shit if I have to watch it on FS Carolinas. I want to see the fucking Bobcats on national tv. I'm about tired of the horrible HD quality.

Don't worry too much guys. From everything I've seen there won't be any blackouts, so you'll have the option of the national coverage or FSCR. Also, NBATV uses the home team's announcers, so that could be what they're talking about.

so all our games will be on NBATV or what? who the fuck even has that channel

On the broadcast they explicitly say that it will be on FS Carolinas this weekend. I believe at one point they said something to the effect of "we will be covering the first round as long as possible." I really enjoy Steve and Dell's commentary, and I feel as though we have been through this thing together with them. I will be happy to continue hearing them.

But WTF do we have to do to get on national TV?! We get no respect. We are playing the defending Eastern Conference Champs, and we're not the damn Milwaukee Bucks. I will be pissed if this Bogut-less group of role players and Brandon Jennings gets on National TV and we don't.

Oh and on that note, the NBA is ridiculous. They moved the games up an hour so they could show a selected game on ESPN. Their first matchup is a complete joke between OKC and Memphis. Their reasoning: Kevin Durant is going for the scoring title.

Who cares? That game has no playoff implications. The Thunder are blowing Memphis out. Durant should get pulled from the game.

FSCR can broadcast any game not on ABC, so we can still be on TNT or ESPN even with the local coverage.

And NBATV is a national channel. Most people with any advanced cable or Directv (dish doesnt have it) package have NBATV.

so if I'm back up in Boone for school and the games on ESPN or TNT but also being covered by FSCR which doesnt play there would TNT or ESPN be blacked out and I'd be fucked out of watching the game or no? They black out ESPN for local broadcast college bball games all the time..

I think, no guarantees, but I think you'd be OK. I don't think they're allowed to blackout playoff games.

per wiki:
"
The NBA and the WNBA used to black out nationally televised games on cable TV within 35 miles (56 km) of the home team's market; however, these are now restricted to games on NBA TV (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_TV)."

So, if our game/games are on NBA TV then we will have to watch it on FS Carolinas but if we get an ABC/TNT/ESPN series then they can't black it out?

Blackout rules are stupid, plain and simple.

The playoffs (first round) will be broadcast on FSN and TNT simultaneously, giving you the option of which one you want to watch. No blackouts for us!

Excuse the language, but fuck national coverage. It's not like they know the first damn thing about us anyway, or care for that matter. Fuck 'em all. I know some of y'all's only chance to see the Cats play on the telly is for a nationally televised game, and for that reason alone, I hope the team gets some action, but I'll be damned if I'm watching that shit if I have the option to listen to the guys who actually know the team and give a damn about 'em: Steve, Dell and Steph.

I mean, really, you know the over/under on times we're called the Hornets is going to be like 15, right? If you want to suffer through ignorant douches, be my guest.

*****To clarrify, this message is to those who are able to get Cats games on FSS, and thus, have a viewing option******

I agree. I will probably tune in to TNT just so I can witness the actual even of the Bobcats being on national tv. Then I will switch. It is pretty cool how they pulled this off, though I imagine it will kill ratings if you have it on two networks.

Only games 1-3 are on TNT. The rest of the tv schedule hasn't been determined yet. They could be on TNT, ESPN, ABC, or NBA TV.

I admit I was a little.....er....brusque in the first post, but I am intrigued by how TNT will cover our boys. Like you, I'll probably watch their pregame and some of the 1st half, but eventually go back to our crew.

I think the first four games are TNT (with no black-outs) but I'm not sure who is carrying the last three...

Game 4 is definately on FS Carolinas. Whether or not it is on TNT at 7:00 hasn't been decided. It will either be the Bobcats or ATL/MIL.

They haven't decided the last three games for a network because if someone gets swept, why bother?
