Lets get a win! I have been waiting for this since the start! I can not wait!

Im actually predicting we win game 1 believe it or not. I think that ORL may think we are a easy team to beat in rd 1. If we can control the tempo and get lots of points-off-turnovers then I think we can win easy.
The whole point to winning though, is the defense. As I said, we need points off turnovers. The Magic have a great offense but they live and die on the 3 point line. Honestly, I dont think the Magic know how to feed Supergirl in the post when their three's arent falling either. If we shut down the three, then we could actually win by 10 or more IMO.

MY matchup analysis
Felton-Nelson: Nelson has the experience but I dont know if it really matter's with Felton. As we all know, Ray plays with alot of pride and he may win this matchup based on effort and hustle. But for now, Im gonna say Ray and Jameer will be equal throughout the series.
Jackson-Carter: Captain Jack has had some GREAT playoff games/experiences. Vince on the other hand, while he has had the better overall career between Jack and him, he definatley has not had the Playoff performances Jack has had. Because of this I give Jack the edge, unless Vince decides to show up and play like he was brought in to play like.
Wallace-Barnes: Matt Barnes is a hot head, get in your face type of player. If Gerald can shut him up, which I think he can easily, then Barnes will not be a factor. Gerald will have to be very agressive in this series though. He needs to get to the line as much as possible. By driving he may also get Supergirl in foul trouble...
Diaw-Lewis: Both players have similar skill sets. We may give the Magic some trouble that they dont normally see with this matchup. Boris is a good defnder and a great play maker. If he can be agressive, but not overly agressive like he has been lately, he could win this matchup. We hace to be careful though, Lewis can knock down three's with the best of them. He hasn't been hitting as much this year, but shooters can get hot at any time.
'3 headed dragon'-Supergirl: The Bobcats three centers obviously are nothing compared to Howard. However, he can be shut down. If he gets in foul trouble or is being fouled, he gets easily frustrated. Also if we turn or Three Headed Dragon into a four headed dragon, by adding Diop, then that makes 24 fouls to give at the center position. We have depth like no other team in the league at center and again we could give ORL unexpected trouble. I do realize though that our depth isnt exacly "skilled" LOL

I think if Ajinca is healthy we should play all 5 of our centers on Howard. LB should just say to each guy "all you have to do is out work him for 9 minutes or so. Ajinca could pull Dwight out of the paint with his jumper and bother him inside with his length. Remember when Roy Hibbert beasted Dwight that one game earlier in the year. The excitement is nerve pounding! Wish the game time would just get now. Long as we dont start off poor and get behind by double digits early, I will feel good about out chances. Orlando is favored, and they are at home. Nerves should be there problem as they have the difficulty of "living up to expectations". The Cats should be loose and ready to play. If we are in this game in the 4th qtr, Orlando might very well choke.

I figured we'd come out a little tight, but Crash wasn't one of them! He had an outstanding game! About the only critique I have of him is he didn't drive it into the paint until the 4th quarter. He was hitting jumpers, but he was our best bet to get more fouls on Howard.

Terrible defensive 1st half by Felton; stellar 2nd half. Since I doubt Jameer won't be hitting post ups on Boris all series long I see Felton redeeming himself bigtime.

I thought TC had a very good game. Boris started out great but then kind of went to the background.

I'm worried about Jax.

Your 'Cats showed a lot of toughness and perseverance. You had a golden opportunity to steal this one like Philly stole game 1 from us last year in the first round. However, huge shots from Pietrus and Redick down the stretch sealed the deal for us. Vince was atrocious and Barnes was pretty much a non-factor.

I wouldn't expect Jameer to have a career night against you guys again, but I also wouldn't expect Dwight to be held to 4 FG attempts either. You can take away as many positives as you like, but it is clear to me which team is the defending Eastern Conference Champion and which team is playing with house money. This should be a fun yet short series.

I got really worried in the 1st half when LB first took Ratliff out and replaced him with Mohammed. Nazr doesn't guard the paint well; and the Magic abused him. We need a Ratliff/Chandler rotation and leave Nazr on the bench.

nazr was a horrible defender on the interior, not even attempting to challenge shots when jameer just drove past our guards...I want ratliff/chandler to get the majority of the Center minutes. Tyrus is also good for guarding the inside.

I want to see Ray continue to drive but eventually there should be someone waiting for the drop off pass for the uncontested dunk when he drives to the hole.

I knew everybody was going to say Jameer killed Ray in the first half but if you look at the 1st half closely Jameer scored half of the 24pts when a switch had taken place. I was disappointed Ray let Jameer beat him off the dribble a couple of times and even more disappointed when there was no help (Naz!) when Jameer got to the rack. I don't think LB will come out and say this to the public b/c if Jameer wants to put the offense on his back again I'm sure LB would welcome that.

Game 2 needs: Tyson needs to play more (match-ups taken into consideration), the PF - PG pick & roll switch needs to stop, our PGs need to be aggressive or we're in a hole again early.

Crash obviously had a wonderful game. I just wish he was aggressive before the second half to where we could draw some more fouls and get to the stripe to keep it close.

Jack played okay in the first, Stellar in the second considering the injury. Great D on Vince and had some nice drives to the hoop.

Tyson played magnificent D tonight. Absolutely terrific. I remember he made some bonehead pass on offense and I told myself that he'd get it back. The next possession he blocked a shot, altered another, and had a steal. He even drew an offensive foul on Dwight and was clearly in his head during his time on the floor.

Ray was pitiful in the first half, but turned it around in the second. I'll reserve judgement on him until Wednesday--but I expect much more from an All-Defense honorable mention.

Doris played great tonight as far as I'm concerned. Solid on D and facilitated pretty nicely for the offensive sets.

Larry played pretty well tonight also. Didn't see much on defense but he made a couple of big shots.

I think Ray's (and DJ's) poor play to start off is just playoff debut jitters. I was happily surprised Crash didn't have them.

I'm going to echo everyone saying Nazr is rusty, he shouldn't have been in there unless Ratliff and TC had already played 20 minutes. Ratliff and Chandler both played Dwight terrifically.

Vince fouling out was the worst thing that could've happened to us, JJ and Pietrus were playing much better.

I'm somewhat upset with LB not playing Jack down the stretch, he should know that Jack is going to hurt more in Game 2 from inactivity.

Overall, good game, and now that we have the jitters gone I expect us to take game two, if we don't I'll be upset. We clearly are on a close to equal playing field.

This is exactly how I feel, I was watching the game with my buddy and he was calling a sweep early for Orlando, and I just had to ask him how many Cats game he had seen, none obviously. When we were down at the half, I was just repeating to him just watch you will see why this will not be a sweep, poof, 17-2 run, back in game, giving D12 trouble, it was great, just a little to late. I do believe that we will win on Wednesday, I think we are getting in their heads and they are maybe questioning their own abilities if they are letting "pooty little Charlotte" take them for a ride. I full on expect us to pull the upset and win this entire series. I think during the 2nd half we really figured out what to do around D12 and I hope to see him posterized by Wallce at least once in this series. Jesus that would be amazing.

I knew everybody was going to say Jameer killed Ray in the first half but if you look at the 1st half closely Jameer scored half of the 24pts when a switch had taken place. I was disappointed Ray let Jameer beat him off the dribble a couple of times and even more disappointed when there was no help (Naz!) when Jameer got to the rack. I don't think LB will come out and say this to the public b/c if Jameer wants to put the offense on his back again I'm sure LB would welcome that.

Game 2 needs: Tyson needs to play more (match-ups taken into consideration), the PF - PG pick & roll switch needs to stop, our PGs need to be aggressive or we're in a hole again early.

Yeah, it's amazing how few people actually noticed that Jameer didn't score much ON Felton but after or during a switch. I think he got beat to the basket twice, and one time he stayed with him and Jameer hit a tough shot. There was no help D down low, Tyson has to play more. Felton dominated Jameer in the second half, so everyone should stop with the Felton shit talk. Jameer was out of his mind and played the best quarter of his life. Nothing more to it than that. I think if the officiating is a little better we can take game two. Even if it sucks again we've got a shot. Our center depth could really pay off in this series. We've got tons of fouls we can commit to Dwight. I think we can keep his scoring pretty low with that strategy. As long as the refs don't continue to let him goal tend and commit 5-10 uncalled fouls, and he doesn't start knocking down his free throws then we could really limit his impact.

About the game, I hate to say I'm not as optimistic as some of y'all about the series going forward. From what I saw, the 2nd half for us was as much of a fluke as the first half was for the Magic, so cancel those out and we still lose by 9. Jack basically not playing at all in the 4th was a killer, and maybe even the game-decider especially when Hughesy is gunshy like he was on the play where he had a jumper with the clock running down and instead did a quick jumpdish to Raymond who had nothing to do but fling it up to beat the clock.

Absolutely agree with Keetch on the Theo/Chandler only rotation at 5...if Nazr can't knock down the 10 footer, he's worthless out there, and there's so much rust on him he just can't do it. Plus Chandler was fantastic on Sunday!

Boris can't continue to be invisible out there. He made some great passes as usual, but this team needs more than that at this point. As soft as Lewis is, he's got to get his ass in the paint and get action going out of the post. So many good things could happen if he would do this instead of floating on the perimeter letting Lewis off the hook defensively.

I think having Larry on the sidelines gives us a huge edge of course, and our boys could pull of a miracle and win this series (there is definitely potential for it to happen) but I don't know how much worthwhile there really is to take out of what happened in the 2nd half of game one, especially considering the refs are going to make adjustments also, and I'm doubtful they'll be as whistle-prone with Dwight.
