Game 2: Charlotte Bobcats at Orlando Magic - 4/21

This is what has me feeling very positive about game 2

* Jameer Nelson will not shoot lights out like he did in game 1
* Dwight Howard will not block 8 blocked shots in 1 half
* The butterflies in the Bobcats' collective stomachs are gone and they will not allow theirselves to be put into a 22 point hole.
* The Magic have no answer for Gerald Wallace (25 points, 17 rebounds and 13 trips to the line)
* The combination of Tyson, Nazr and Theo the brain eating, shot blocking zombie kept Howard in check on the offensive end
* In the 4th quarter of game 1, The Magic looked frustrated and scared
* Larry Brown's adjustmenst will certainly beat the hell out of Stan van gundy's adjustments

These are the things that have me concerned.

* Apparently its possible to referee AND be legally blind. Seriously WTF?!?!? We need the refs to call this game down the middle.

The 3 point line. We do not want the Magic going wild from long range. If someone has to deliver an "inadvertent" elbow to the skull of Redick or Lewis, then I'm completely comfortable with that.

All in all, I think we get the win Wednesday night and come home to Charlotte with the series tied up 1-1.

The Charlotte Bobcats may have lost their series opener to the Orlando Magic on Sunday night but they want everyone to know they're not going down without a fight. The team was still optimistic, even confident, of their chances against Orlando following the loss. During the game and afterwards in the locker room, it was clear that they're not about to back down.

"We're a fighting team no matter what, we're never going to lie down or just give up," said Raymond Felton. "We're going to fight until the end. It's a series, we still have a lot of games to play, and we've got confidence. We played well but we had a lot of mistakes at the beginning of the game that hurt us in the end. It's tough to fight back when they had a twenty-two point lead and almost win the game against a team like that but we almost did it."

Much of Charlotte's confidence comes from the fact that they were able to cut Orlando's twenty-two point lead to just four points late in the fourth quarter. Many thought the game was over at halftime but the Bobcats were able to adjust, fight back, and gain some momentum going into Wednesday's game.

"We had to adjust the way we guarded the screen and roll and we had to adjust to the way that they were getting open threes. We did a better job of those things in the second half and that's why were able to come back and make it a fight," Felton added.

While Orlando got the win, the Bobcats' effort and comeback clearly put a damper on the mood in the home locker room. Mickael Pietrus told reporters that "we're not going to quit" and "it's not going to be easy." Not exactly things you usually hear in the locker room following a win.

Another reason for the Bobcats optimism is that they were able to execute their gameplan. Their goal was slow down Dwight Howard, get Vince Carter in foul trouble, and force someone to step up and beat them. Howard finished with just five points and Carter fouled out in the fourth quarter. While Jameer Nelson was able to go off for a playoff-high 32 points, Charlotte knows he isn't going to do that every game. They feel that if they continue to carry out their gameplan while limiting the mistakes they made in the first half, which were likely the result of nerves according to several players, that they can beat the Magic.

"The tale of the tape was that they made plays at the end. We had a chance to win this game whether I was hurt or not. They were the better team tonight but we definitely feel we can beat these guys," said Stephen Jackson. "They didn't let him get the ball in the middle of the paint, right under the rim like he wanted to. They did a great job on him and I think that's why we were able to get back into the game because they couldn't throw it into Dwight or have him kick it out for easy threes."

Completely agree. We've been way too tentative and tight, while they're loose, running, and playing with tons of confidence. Hopefully, the home court changes that.

We have play each game the same way. A crappy 1st half, and then a good 2nd half. Orlando is too good for that mess. We have to play a complete game, and then we can win. But not this crap we have played the last 2 games.
