For those that were in the Arena for game 3, tell me about the atmosphere in the building. It looked absolutely amazing watching it on TV.

It was pretty amazing. Right before tip-off when everyone was waving their prowl towels made me realize how awesome are fan base is. :)

The atmosphere was awesome, it felt like the old Hornet days for sure. They changed the pregame intro movie for the playoffs, showing when Zo made the jumper to beat Boston in 93, then saying you have to let go of the past to appreciate the future or something like that. The towels and t-shirts were awesome, booing Redick everytime he touched the ball. It got a little dead in the 3rd quarter, but the best part to me was with about 8 minutes left in the game they played another movie that really got the crowd fired up....I can't really remember it, but basically it said something like this is your time and the team needs you...

Best crowd of any NBA game I've been to. Every single person was loud and into the game. I wish they were all like that. Hopefully Game 4 will be as rabid

That was a great idea, whoever came up with it.

I recorded the intro with my phone but it turned out to be pretty crap quality. You can get a decent idea of the atmosphere though.

Despite the loss I still had an awesome time. I've been a season ticket holder since year one and attending a game like this has been a long time coming.
Great vid chabber, thanks for posting.
And that was fucking loud on my pc. About gave the cat a heart attack.

The crowd was great, but the Bobcats really needed to win this one. I felt confident the whole game that we were going to win until the last 2 min. It still feels bad knowing we let this game get out of our hands. This would have completely change the series.
Nelly was completely into the game. He stood up for a large part of the game and cheered on the team, especially Jax.
There was some new pre-game warmup music... probably rap songs that the players requested to help pump them up even more.
Too bad Joey Crawford helped blow the game for us. I wish I was sitting behind David Stern to tell him how much he needs to find new refs.

My first post here and just want you guys to know you should be really proud of yourselves as a fan base. The Magic are my main (and hometown) team but I watch basketball pretty much every night and that arena was as good as I've seen all season. That is a true playoff atmosphere and reminds me of the old days at the O-Rena (the name of the Amway Arena back in the Shaq Penny days). It took us till the Cavs series last year to recapture that kind of intensity so as said before you all should be really proud of how well you showed up on national TV.
I will also say you should be proud of how your team plays. You truly are probably the best defensive team in the league. I would love to say we are but we have to many times where we get lazy. I've never seen us struggle so hard to score on a consistent basis. Go get yourselves a good post scorer and you will be able to move into the top 4 of the east. I'm sure Jordan knows this and is tops on his list to go after.

I have to bring my "George Costanzian" perspective to this. First, yes, it was fun to see such a vigorous outpouring of support for the team for the first time....loud, rowdy, profane (maybe that was just me :g:), intense, beautiful.
But I couldn't help but think at various points during the game, where the fuck have you people been? Where were you when maybe 5K were here to see Jack go off for 43 against a solid Rockets team? Where were you last year when maybe 3K were here to see Minnesota? The grump in me even feels resentment for many of these people to the point I don't think they're entitled to be able to see our Cats play in a playoff game live; they should have to serve some sort of penance, instead of being able to go up to the box office for the first time the Cats weren't playing the Lakers or Cavs, and get seats to see a team we've put six years of a variety of emotions into.
I guess I knew they were coming and should be thankful they did show and were loud, but these fucking bandwagoneers just sort of rub me the wrong way. They didn't earn this. Those of us who've shown up, watched on tv, or God love 'em, those who've had to watch shit computer feeds from outer Mongolia to watch our boys.....WE'VE earned it, yet these punks, just now coming aboard, get to take part in the same celebration. Not cool.
Still, if even a percentage of them have been won over for the long haul, that's all that matters, and I'll be happy to have them.

I was there, it was incredible... nice videos linking the past to the present as others have mentioned, really got the crowd inspired. Was also nice that they had Mugsy in the building and showed a little highlight vid, then put the camera on him. I was in the 200 level and at tip-off it was a wall of noise and a sea white shirts and swinging "Prowl Towels"... it actually brought a tear to my eye.

Respect... and I've got to say I've never seen a team as clutch as the Magic.

I wish everyone there had always been a Bobcats fan. I have loved the Bobcats since the days of Bernie Bickerstaff, Jahadi White, Brevin Knight, Bernard Robinson, Kareem Rush, Primoz Brezec, Eddie House,...etc. I have waited 5 years for this moment and being at this game was really a special moment.

Someone was rocking a Primoz jersey at the game yesterday. It made me proud.

That was a tremendous moment, a moment the franchise should be proud of. Many of us have waited at least six, if not eight, years for that day to come. I was at a handful of Hornet playoff games and that more than measured up. The whiteout was fantastic, the opening video was superb and the crowd was into it in a way that made that moment special. It's the way playoff basketball should be.
Funny sidenote...I moved my STH seat down to the lower level this year and in the season opener (double OT win against the Knicks), the guy behind me tapped me on the should in the double OT and asked me to sit down because he couldn't see. I didn't want to, but being new to the section I thought it best go along that time.
Fast forward through the season and I'm there every night and he's barely ever there. Now yesterday, right before tipoff of the first home game in franchise history, he taps me on the shoulder again and asks me to sit down because he couldn't see. (Apparently he missed the other 19,000+ people on their feet) I simply let him know that this was the playoffs and I really didn't intend to sit down much. I looked back about midway through the second quarter and he had moved....so I guess we both got what we wanted.
(Ok, that's longer than a sidenote, but I felt like sharing.)

It was just an unbelievable atmsophere. Greatest I've ever been to for an NBA game. When the 'Cats took the lead and Howard fouled out with 3:32 to go, I though the damn place was going to explode.
10 times better than the Hornets playoffs games I've been too (but I only moved here in 1997). Better than the Nuggets/Clippers playoff game I went to in Denver a few years ago. I won't even compare it to the games I've been to in LA (Lakers), Utah, Toronto, Detroit, Milwaukee, Minnesota, New Orleans, and Orlando because they were all regular season.
It is easily the most fun I have ever had at a game where the team I was rooting for Lost. I left there thinking, 'Wow, that was still a great time.'

The crowd was just amazing. A really great experience. Loud. Everything the franchise could've asked for from its fans. The videos they showed were the team's best and smartest yet.
I had a great time. Still, that loss broke my heart.

I have been a part of this team since I moved here. And I will gladly accept any new fans. The franchise is 6 years old. 6 YEARS OLD and you're already dismissing any new fans that this team DESPERATELY needs?? We're trying to build a fanbase, what're you doing...besides handing down life lessons from your cloud of judgment? I agree with you when there was only 5,000 going to the game. I do miss the days of the weekday games against slumpty teams like the T Wolves or Clippers and my friends could hear me yell obscenities from across the arena or asking if Ricky Davis, Baron and Marcus Camby if they all wanted to get down on a blunt after the game. Those were fun times. I was also able to get free tickets to every game since my sister worked there, but towards the end of the season when the city woke up and began going, I had to buy tickets like everyone else. It sucks, but I'd trade it all for the game I was at yesterday. If you were a true Bobcats fan like you claim to be, you would too.

Speaking of crowds. The Miami crowd tonight was just horrible. I don't know if anybody else was watching but I saw empty seats all over the place. No wonder they're down 3-1 in the 4/5 matchup.
