Hey, it is officially my first post of "Shit that will never happen but I can dream... right?" Lets create the most screwed up set of forwards to ever play the game together.
At Small forward, standing 6'7'' the shortest man to lead the league in rebounding this decade, who never saw a basket he didn't want to crash into... G, G, G, Gerlad Wallace!
At Power Forward, at 7'0'' a member of this years all star shootout competitions winning team, a man who never saw a rim he didn't want to shoot at from 15 feet away, everybody's favorite German NBA player, Dirk Nowitzki!

Seriously how f'd up would it be to have the 2 most nonstandard players, in their positions, in the league together ;)

That would be awesome....i love dirk but I doubt it will happen
But still think about it. Look at this lineup:
Felton(Or DJ)
Jack
Gerald
Dirk
Tyson
I like the idea a lot...know it will not happen...but maybe a guy like Frye?

How do you defend when the 4 is a 7 foot shooter and the 3 is a 6-7 crasher!? Gerald already draws a lot of attention from the 4s and 5 on other teams when he is going to the rim, if he had an outlet waiting for his pass every time he drove, that is going to catch and shoot unguarded other teams would have to choose who to guard.. or leave Jack open and thats not going to work any better for them ;)
And with 4 scoring threats on the floor Felts could fall back to facilitating more and lead the league in assists....
All i am saying is that PG and PF are our two week spots and one of the premier PFs in the league is possibly on the block.
Like I said...I like it a lot...but the thought of Cuban (not wanting to be embarrassed) and what he would pay Dirk makes me shudder...

Cuban will stick to Dirk for fear of fan-base/media backlash more than he actually believes he's making a profitable investment. And it will backfire, with half a dozen more mediocre seasons (mediocre by standards of one expecting to go all the way) in store for him. Dirk is getting old (as most everyone on their current roster already is) and banking huge amounts of cash on him is a bad move for the Mavs' future.
But, hey, like I care...

hypothetical crazy forward combos:
charles barkley and ralph sampson - a 6'4" power forward who bullied down low and rebounded like a mad man and a 7'4" forward/cener who wanted to be a shooting guard.
dennis rodman and adam morrison - the best defensive forward of the past 20 years next to the worst defensive forward of the past 20 years.
larry bird and chris gatling - the greatest passing forward ever next to the biggest black hole ive ever seen.
popeye jones and rick rox - jones has to be the ugliest forward ever and fox was mr gq.
shawn kemp and ac green - kemp has 100 babies from 99 woman, ac green was a virgin.

If Dirk leaves Dallas to go anywhere, it'll be Phoenix.

Hold the phone a sec... Antoine actually might be available!!
Click and be flabbergasted at the prospect (http://gantdaily.com/2010/05/06/antoine-walker-reportedly-considering-nba-comeback/)
Some of the folks here have been whining about the lack of a proper outside threat...
You know you wanna make love to him (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4d6U8vcinX4&feature=related)
Bring it on!

Yeah we would go far into the playoffs with Dirk....
If I wanted a four, it'd be Bosh. It's clear he's leaving, so everyone hop on twitter and tell him to come here...

If he wasn't insane then he'd be a great option. Even after the injury he was a 23/7 guy. That'd be a great mix for our team. Oh well...

I'd S&T Ray with Gana and Boris for Arenas and a first, but that's it.

That might be an attractive option, depending on the pick protection

A cap killing contract for a guy who can't stay healthy?
No thanks. I want to stay as far away as possible from guys like him and Brand.
There's a rumor going around that Bosh's knees are an issue. Might be BS, but as he couldn't consistently get his team into the playoffs I don't think he's a max player. He'll get it, but even tho I think he'd make us much better I'm not that sorry it won't be us.
Dirk ain't happening.

All these "I wish" fantasies that we can only dream about.
I for one, would trade Chandler for Bogut, not sure if you can do it straight up, but roughly that. Bogut would make our team 3x as effective...oh the possibilities.
Bucks trading Bogut...very doubtful...

Dirk would be the perfect compliment to Crash, because Crash is our power forward. He guards SFs, but his rebounding is more essential to this team's success than our "Fours." With Jack and Crash better drivers and slashers than shooters, having a 4 that plays away from the hoop on the offensive end will only serve to open up driving lanes and would aid in Jack and Crash's ability to rebound, get put backs, etc.
Do I think Dirk will ever don a Los Bobogatos jersey? No, but a PF that can score in a similar mold would be the best addition to maximize the abilities of our two wings. Ironic that this is the profile of Boris, but his passivity has not turned around and I'm not sure it ever will.
P.S. This is why I don't think TT is the answer, but that's another story.

You don't trade a franchise big man. it's why we won't be trading Brook Lope...doh!

Thank you for reminding me why Donatos Motiejunas is such a good fit, yet Alexis Ajinca keeps us from drafting him
I don't mind the TT 1st, but no way in hell Lexy deserved that.

If you think Motiejunas is good, you need to see Jan Vesely
