View Full Version : The Summer of Lebron

After that sorry effort against the Celtics last night in game 5, I think the Cavs are just a 1 game away from the end of the Lebron James era.
My money is on Lebron winding up in a Knicks uniform, Wade winding up with the Bulls playing next to Derrick Rose and I have absolutely no idea on Chris Bosh.
Let's use this thread to discuss all of the big name free agency movement that is coming soon.
I was really disappointed in the way he played last night, he seemed to not care much at all. Maybe he does want out of Cleavland. I'm leaning towards him staying in Cleavland but if he doesn't I agree, New York will be where he ends up.
As for Wade, I expect him back in Miami, just a feeling.
Bosh is gonzo.
I think LeBron will stay, there's no way he can go out like this, and if he does, Ohio will hate him more than MJ.
Wade I'm almost certain stays, and I think either Boozer, Amar'e, or Bosh joins him.
Bosh I can see anywhere south of Washington, D.C. But I'd guess Dallas or Houston.

LeBron's gonna stay another year with the Cavs and then he's off to Brooklyn.

Warriors fans have been talking all day about how the Cavs fucked up by failing to trade for Jack. They desperately needed a legitimate 2nd option for LeBron and it's killing them right now.

I think Bron goes to New Jersey. If they get D-Rose2-John Wall and trade Devin Harris for Josh Smith how can he go wrong. They'll obviously need a good coach of which i'm sure they'll get.
The Cavs needed to get another superstar to play with Bron i mean he's been a one man show for the last 6-7 seasons.Ferry has only gotten good-quality role players and a 50 year old Shaq, not good enough when facing the big 4 in Boston and the Kobe-Gasol duo in LA.They're still not good enough to beat Orlando either.
Man i've seen all 5 games of this series and Jamison is getting abused in the low post by KG and Big Baby when he's on.I don't know what his-Jamison's averages are but he's been below average on both ends, especially on D, shit he's terrible. No wonder why the Wizards could never beat the Cavs in a playoff series, they don't know how to defend.Another reason why the best trades are made in the off season.
If the Cavs lose game 6 and i'm 90% positive Boston sends Bron&co fishing, that's the last time we see LeBron in a Cavs jersey.
I think its amazing that Cleavland won 61 games with the starting 5 that they had, shows how much Lebron does for that team. Honestly looking at the four teams left in the playoffs they're starting lineups trump Cleavland's any day, even with Lebron. Lebron needs legit talent around him, not the likes of Anthony Parker, Jamison, Shaq, and Varejao.
My guess though is Lebron comes back, but they need to clean that roster out keeping only James, Mo Williams, and Hickson.

Looking at what Flash has accomplished with basically a bunch of scrubs (5th seed with Flash; probably fighting NJ for the worst record without him)...would CLE have faired better if they'd had him vs. LBJ?
I think LBJ is better, but maybe Flash just wants it more?
Guys...it would not surprise me if LBJ goes with the Nets...really would not surprise me at all...:g:

I think the Nets would actually benefit from getting the second pick.
Devin Harris/Evan Turner/LeBron James/Yi Jinlian/Brook Lopez
is better than
John Wall/Courtney Lee/LeBron James/Yi Jinlian/Brook Lopez

Agree with this. Of course they could always spurn John Wall and take Turner with the 1st pick.

Jordan should offer to make Lebron a part owner when he retires if he comes to Charlotte for the mid level for one year. Our team is set up to win if we can get one guy that can score.

Does that even jive with the rules? Or just frowned upon?

If this goes down tonight, LeBron James is just a court jester in King Wade's Miami! As a Marquette alum I can't wait to see our Marquette hero lead the trio to an NBA title in South Beach! Just as long as the Bobcats can improve and follow the Heat in the Championship roll-call.

He's a total moron. This will taint his legacy forever. He will be hated in Cleveland. He'll never be able to play there. He left 30 million dollars on the table. He'll be accused of riding Wade's coattails. He comes away looking like a traitor and a coward.

The spot of my "second favorite team in the NBA" is up for grabs. First to beat the south beach bull-s/-/it is it.
Never once have I thought I'd pray for the lakers to 3-peat.

Favorite teams:
1. Bobcats.
2. Whoever is playing Miami.
3. Whoever is playing the Celtics.
4. Whoever is playing the Lakers.
5. Whoever is beating the Suns but letting Nash shine still.
The question now is how do they get Howard and CP3 down to Miami :)

I really want a t-shirt that just reads, "Blame it on Delonte."
That being said, Lebron did a pretty jack-ass move with that show. I always try to give players the benefit of the doubt when it comes to personal decisions, but the hour long show is not only irresponsible but insensitive and mean. The Cavs organization be damned; I couldn't care less about them. He literally just jacked up a whole bunch of people's jobs in an extremely public and humiliating fashion. I'm not shocked he chose Miami, but I am shocked he sunk this low in doing so.

All he did was restrain himself and sit there like a zombie. The look was bad; the wierd beard, the shirt, the construction shoes. Then he lied to everyone about why he chose Miami....
He chose Miami to extend his career. He doesn't want to play 40+ minutes for 82 games and have the pressure of a whole franchise solely on his back. He's not made to do that. He's not MJ, Kobe, Bird or Magic.
He chose Miami because he wants to be with his best friends and run thru the regular season with optimum happiness, least stress and minimum labor. Then he'll try to turn it on for the playoffs to maintain brand value.
All that's fine. Go for it. Just don't do it on national tv and lie about why.

How's it taint his legacy? He's a free agent!!! He owed Cleveland NOTHING! In the words of Herm Edwards, "You play to win the game!" He was never going to be Jordan if he stayed in Cleveland because there was only one Jordan. Kobe, Wade, LeBron...all good players, not Jordans.
Let the man be! He's still going to wipe out the competition. Tell me this, if Wade had left Miami to join LeBron and Bosh in Cleveland would we be talking about Dwyane this way? No way! He's still a good guy despite the bad idea to do this on ESPN. And by the way....He owed Cleveland NOTHING!

My momma always said, "It's not what you say, it's how you say it."
The issue isn't him leaving, that was just about expected. The issue is the manner in which he left.
He's played every single team with cap space by flirting openly with them all. He quit in the playoffs and cost the team the series. He held the Cavs hostage by not letting them know sooner so they could make other moves to improve the team. He announced, ON NATIONAL TELEVISION!!! that he was leaving to go to Miami.
For a city in such disarray, after basically worshipping the ground LeBron walks on, he could have broke the news a little better.

I've been of the opinion from the get-go that Bosh would get his max. sign & trade and would join a max'ed out Wade in Miami. For the same reason, I figured there's NO WAY LeBron would settle for less and would inevitably re-sign with Cleveland. It seemed pretty simple.
But it appears these 3 had a longer vision of getting greater value by reducing their playing load and thus extending their playable years. Not a bad business decision really. Maybe. It could backfire.
Hey; of the 3 I've liked Bosh the best. I've always thought he was the quintessential basketball player. Dude actually LOOKS like a Raptor. Very Cool Guy. I wish Bosh and Durant were playing together, not Bosh and LeBron.
How can you not respect the hell out of Dwayne Wade; incredible talent and plays like a warrior.
LeBron? I've disliked him ever since watching him throw that chalk dust up at the TWC Arena. You do that on your own court; not on someone elses. It offended me.
Then he pulled that creepy quitter routine against the Celtics in the playoffs this year. Checked .. Out ..
No thanks. LeBron = creepy. Cleveland is better off without him.

I live in Columbus, OH and the state is somber and pissed at the same time. I don't think there's one person in the state that's not ready to go to his house and piss on his doorsteps.
