First time poster here, long time NBA fan. I recently moved to Charlotte and I'm a huge Indiana Pacers fan (I grew up in Indiana and have lived in FL the last 7 years watching them on League Pass). Don't worry though - I'm not here to troll. I'll probably do a lot more reading than posting but I figured I'd join as I would love to talk NBA and even catch a few Bobcats games here and there (and here I thought I would never willing watch Stephen Jackson play basketball again...).

IT would have been great if you could have brought Danny Granger down here to the Bobcats with you... Roy Hibbert even.

On a side note, do you anticipate your Pacers making the playoffs this season?

If you would have asked me that several weeks ago, I probably would have said yes. Considering the Knicks weak schedule, I figured their hot start was a fluke. And I'm still not completely sold on them yet, seeing as Felton and Amare are logging WAY too many minutes. These are the kind of teams we will be battling for the final spots.

As far as the team itself goes, they really don't seem to be responding to O'Brien and his small ball is going nowhere. The main strategy seems to be "spreading the floor," so we essentially live and die by the three. Not only that, but we have some very capable bigs and young guys that he refuses to play thanks to guys like TJ Ford and James Posey. I like the moves that Bird made in the offseason, but Collison simply can't play well in O'Brien's system. The Hornets relied a lot on the high screen and roll and he thrived there but here has been a different story. Its frustrating because I was hoping for the DC from the second half of last season, but I have to keep reminding myself that its only his second year.

Likewise, Granger and Hibbert are struggling mightily right now. The good news is that Granger is settling for less 3's. Hibbert can't seem to make anything but dunks, and he lacks the muscle to bang inside (gets moved around pretty easily). He also has a nice 20 footer that was falling at the start of the season that isn't hitting now. When he hits this shot, it really opens up his game. Overall, I feel he needs to be in the game with a physical PF like McRoberts or Hansbrough. For some reason this doesn't happen enough.

I think we still have a pretty good shot, seeing as anyone that lingers around .500 in the East will likely make it. Hopefully we can get out of this recent slump...

Yep. I would blame this mostly on O'Brien. That and Collison is horrible in transition. Sometimes I wonder if he has any peripheral vision at all.

Try Stubhub.com if you want tickets in advance. Most all the seats in the arena are good, obviously higher is cheaper, but you can get some great lower bowl deals on that site, especially with the electronic download

Thanks for the heads up. I generally use Stubhub or Ebay if I'm going to buy tickets in advance. I went to the home season opener against the Pacers when I was on vacation last month and sat in 116 which cost me about $32. I really liked the seat but will probably look for something cheaper now. I'm thinking about just heading down to the arena on a game night to see if I can't buy a ticket from a scalper pretty cheap.

With scalpers its luck of the draw, mainly depending on the game. Wayno got courtsidevseats for 45 bucks to a Wolves game I think but for a Laker or celtics game itll be four times list price.

Long story short I grew up a Hornets fan, was devastated when they left. At first I really didn't care we got a new team back. However since Jordan bought the team, I've been more interested in the team. I also liked what they did with the uniforms this season. I've started going to games this season and even though they've lost all but one, I've realized how lucky I am to live in a city with an NBA team. So I guess you could say I jumped on the bandwagon last year, and I'm still on!:cheers1:

A few other things about me. I'm a fan of the Wolfpack(please don't give me hell, I know how bad they are:'(), Carolina Hurricanes(big fan), Charlotte Checkers, Braves, and Panthers. My first Bobcat game was March 11, 2006 against the Knicks. And if you were at the game tonight against the Nets, and saw a guy wearing a teal Larry Johnson jersey, well that was me, someday I'm going to get some Bobcat gear:biggrin:

And finally, my favorite players are Wallace and Jackson. My sn is in reference to Stephen Jackson. CaptainWallace just doesn't roll off the tongue IMO.

I was at the game on Friday, but no I wasn't talking to Steve Martin. Must've been someone else, which is interesting because the only time I've ever seen anyone else wear Hornets gear was the OKC game. I'm usually walking the concourses before games and usually sit in either 222 or 223.

lol no I was in 223 Friday night by myself. The second highest row next to the wall there where the arena curves, row W I think. yeah fairbanks is definetly far enough North to see Northern Lights. It is really common up here to see them a couple times a summer. Really great sight to see, just amazing. Best part of Goldsboro is Wilbur's BBQ. I get that sauce sent up here in box just to try to slightly feel the greatness of their phenomenal creation of BBQ haha.

I did purchase a new computer a month ago so I've been eager to make a new comic(s) but I'm hating the Window's 7 version of MS Paint. Not as simple as before which sucks because I usually know my way around the program. I'm also messing around with the new Photoshop whenever I have time. That, and I've been knee deep in my other projects. I really do want to make a just Bobcats themed comic in the future. I'm definitely not done making comics.

I grew up a Celtics fan but fell out of interest in the NBA around '99 or so. My interest has been renewed, but for some reason I don't want to root for the Celtics. I've rooted for Boston/New England teams my whole life, but I resent what the NBA has turned into. I see big market teams like the Celtics being a part of that problem. So I decided to root for and place my support behind a small market team which is in a state of rebuild (I guess I'm "anti-fair weather"). My grandmother and all of my Southern ancestry is from the great state of NC, so that added to my decision to root for the Bobcats. On a side note, I'm a diehard Boston Bruins fan and will probably only skip out on watching Charlotte's games when they are playing.

Oh, in Lithuania we all are crazy about basketball, so I just watch some games videos and I just loved Bobcats. I very liked how G-Force played (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8k4ZJBSQnU my job). When he was traded i just stay with Bobcats, I am Bobcats fan since 2007 or 2008, i don't remember.

I am not super fan, because I can't watch all games just 10-20 in season, but I still love Bobcats.

I knew, like everyone, that this was the beginning of a long rebuildling project by Cho..but I did not think the 'Cats would struggle so badly. I also did not think the injury bug would bite so bad either.

I am also very intrigued by Biz's play. Especially considering he did not get a summer league or even a training camp. Adding Davis (hopefully) or possibly Barnes I think would bolster the youth movement.

I like were Cho has positioned the team..especially after watching his interview yesterday on ESPN.com's truehoop section.

I'll go on I guess, in addition to loving the Bobcats I'm a huge fan of the Panthers, Braves, Duke and Appalachian State. I hope to attend App St when I graduate in 2014, I'm a member of my schools cross country and track team and I have Xbox Live if any of you wanna play 2k some time. In addition to sports I love hip-hop, my favorite current artists are J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Lupe Fiasco, Big KRIT, Meek Mill, J. Capri, Kanye West, Jay Z and Lil B (yes, Lil B lol).

OH YEAH, I have the problem where even though I don't live but 40 minutes from Charlotte, I get ZERO Bobcats games... nada none. Every night sports south will say it is coming on but it never is and my dad and I have had this problem for years now. I can't take another year putting up with crappy streams and or following on ESPN, I'm probably gonna breakdown and by NBA League Pass or whatever myself this fall. But I'm worried, will I get Bobcat games? I was kinda scared they might not be included because they will assume I get their games anyway. Can anyone help my with this?

By 40 minutes away, you mean what general city area? Because that makes a difference.

DirecTv is soooooooooo far beyond whatever cable you have. Picture is better, more channels and cheaper.

Lincoln County doesn't have a small town feel, it has a farm town feel. And being close to "Hick-ry" and the Gas House is not something to brag about.

Oh well, I plan on living in downtown Charlotte when I get done with college anyways.
