Hey guys, I just signed up and I'm happy to be here. Rather than peruse all of the well-established threads and try to infiltrate them with my opinions, I thought I'd just try to write a few here, in no particular order:
We should not overreact to Raymond Felton's poor showing against the Magic in the playoffs. Let's remember how much he improved his shooting for '09-10. Let's remember his grittiness and leadership over a full season--a rather successful one for our 'Cats. Let's remember his durability throughout his career.
Boris Diaw disappointed last year, but I think some fans need to recognize that he can guard 3 positions on a defensive switchoff. Boris is a guy who can plug some holes on your roster, depending on what you need. That kind of versatility is important on a small-market team.
No, I don't wish we still had Jared Dudley and J-Rich just because of what they have been doing with the Suns. The Bobcats roster they played on was going nowhere. It did not have Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire helping them. You cannot have a Dudley playing significant minutes alongside a Sean May, an Adam Morrison, a Matt Carroll, etc. That's too many physically-limited role players on the court. You have to play Dudley next to some real length and athleticism. We did not have it. For crying out loud we didn't really have an NBA 4-man at the time. We had to do what we had to do. And I'm fairly satisfied with how it turned out.
I still get nightmares over the DJ/Ajinca draft. Count me as a guy who was screaming for Brook Lopez and Mario Chalmers that night. One of the most sickening, disappointing NBA drafts I've watched.
I hate it when people overemphasize a player's height. Standing reach, wingspan, and weight matter so much more. I often refer to draftexpress.com's measurement database when I post about basketball.
I try to be a polite poster, keeping it civil. There's nothing original about hiding behind the anonymity of a keyboard to insult others. Not my thing.
Okay, I'll stop for now. I appreciate anyone who bothered to read this. Thanks!
