instead of being wooed by potential suitors, the former first-round pick was running the floor with mostly undrafted rookies in what amounts to tryout camp for the Charlotte Bobcats summer league team.

I'm not expecting much from the kid, but you never know. Maybe he'll surprise us, make the team and make an impact. I just pray that he can keep his life clean and continue to head-on towards a positive track while avoiding trouble with the law. Hopefully he realizes this could be his last shot and he'll give us all he has...

Just played with williams on 2k10, assigned him to the bobcats off the free agents list. Absolutley dominated the nuggets!! 18 points from 9-13 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocks!!! All on Nene! Sign him up!!! lol

Actually lets pick him up! 2k10 tells you more than real life anyway!

The kid just creeps me out...I'm also sorry we brought him in...these kind of moves smack of desperation and poor decisions regarding drafts/trades...

I at least appreciate Charlotte trying some interesting options to make the team better. If Williams can turn things around, he might be a great addition. I'm not sure Miles has a place on the roster, but he could be useful. If we sign both for the vet's minimum and they're not locker room problems, they're probably worth having.

Exactly.

Why all the doom and gloom over a SL invite?

These are two terrific talents who, if they have their heads on straight, can contribute more than a second round pick or undrafted FA. If Larry likes them, then ILBIT.

Im sure Den had the same kind of doom and gloom over the Birdman a few years ago. I just hope it works out for us like that.

What's the concern/gamble here? The 'Cats haven't even given these guys a NON-guaranteed contract yet, let alone a guaranteed one. If they're of no use to us, then we'll just let them go on their merry way. LB was already talking about how heavy Williams is. I figure that's a test to see if Shawne's willing to put in the work or not (viewing these 2 months or so as a microcosm of the season).
