They didn't sign McGuire to be a legitimate rotation player, lol. This is clearly a depth signing, and if you get a guy who can defend multiple positions for a low price, that's more than okay with me.

1 year, $900K. No biggy there. We have 13 people locked up on the roster now and need 2 more. Mcguire will just be a garbage time player that cleans the boards for us. I'll take a guy who can defend and give us some extra possession for cheap. Who knows, maybe he's a project that turns into a Theo Ratliff type?

i dont know if i like this trade or not. we are fuckn up. He plays no offense and he gets injured while playing defense, i guess 900k means he can be a lockdown defender on the gatorade cooler.

Dominic McGuire has always brought is hard-nosed defense and energy, even on a Washington Wizards team that often seemed completely disinterested in playing defense. He hardly played for the Kings after he was sent to Sacramento in a mid-season trade, but Larry Brown apparently thinks highly enough of the way McGuire plays the game to give him a shot at making his rotation in Charlotte.

I really hope we get Diaw and some of the other excess fat/money off this roster for a talented player or two.
