Yeah, Tyrus is only the answer at the C if we're playing with somebody who either runs a small line-up or a C who goes outside a lot. He's not the answer at the 5.
Tyson played 22 minutes a game for 51 games. While I had high hopes for him this year, he's not irreplaceable. Though, we're going to have to see a serious increase in production from Tyrus at the 4 spot.
While I'm sad to see Felton go, Calderon is a very steady replacement who should be charged by his teammates in a way that Toronto didn't last year.

not going to happen. they are close with dallas for dampier + a first. they are insistent on a first. we don't have one. they may also take matty carroll and d. stevenson from dallas too, for multiple firsts.

I doubt it in all honesty. With him being older he'll go to Boston, Miami, or stay with the bulls.
I see us going after a big from Sacramento...Jason Thompson or Spencer Hawes? They just got Demarcus Cousins, and already have Carl Landry, Hassan Whiteside, etc.
I would be happy with Jason Thompson or Spencer Hawes, personally.

Hawes has been a Philadelphia 76er for about a month now. I always liked his post moves in college, though.

At this point, who cares. No commitment from FO to keep a line-up for longer than 1 season.
This is FUCKING BULLSHIT!
Where is the loyalty?
I can't give an assessment to any of our players. WHAT THE FUCK!
Is he good?
maybe...not sure...give it one more season....huh?...really?....oh, nevermind.
I could never live in Charlotte as long as I cheer for this team. I would end up driving to the HQ of the Bobcats and wait for the FO executives to walk out to their car so I could yell and tell them "HEY! FUCK YOU!" that is no way to live. I can't make a living doing this.
Suck it Jordan!

Current roster:
Crash, expansion draft, 04-
Nazr, traded for expirings, 07-
DJ and Lexy, draft picks 08-
Gana, traded for, 09-
Hendo and UPS, drafted, 09-
Jack, traded for, 09-
TT, traded for, 10-
McGuire, signed, 10-
Ray played 4 seasons as a starter with MJ around.
Mek started 3 seasons with MJ around
Honestly, who should they have kept? Maybe the Diop/MC and Twiggy trade was a mistake, but the rest were totally justified.

lets see b4 Larry Brown and all the trades we couldnt even be a .500 team. now after the multiple trades our team has a winning record. now if you like being less then mediocre then go ahead complain all you want about the roster moves but to me this team is finally moving in the right direction and if we never had acquired Diop's contract then our FO probably doesnt deserve any of the shit it gets.

Unless we have a Derek Jeter type player there's no such thing. Professional Basketball is a bisuness and it's treated like so. Noone on this roster is COMPLETLY safe, not even Crash.

There is no way frigging way Tyson and Boris together are somehow equal in value to one Jose Calderon!!! I don't even think Jose is as good as Raymond. This was a stupid move. Even worse about all this is unless they already have assurances from another team on a trade that would bring back a solid replacement for Tyson this was pure idiocy at it's best.
Tyson was finally healthy at the end of the season and when healthy showed that he is a pretty good Center. Now there is no telling what the hell we replace him with.
Do they really feel Lexi is a starter based on D-League and Summer League play? I hate them putting all their chips on the table for a average pg and no real C to replace Tyson.
Tyson was the most valuable Center we had and Toronto showed no respect to either Tyson or Diaw by realistically thinking of them as an even value to Calderon.
What a fucking joke this organization is. By the way Diop is a huge albatross hanging around our teams neck. If that is not a major fuck up by the front office I can't imagine what would be worse.
If we did not have that wasted acquisition on our team we may have been able to make a substantial move. As it stands I think we may have gotten worse at the 1 and we sure as hell will not improve a position of weakess at the 5 with this terrible trade.

Giving up BOTH Diaw and Tyson for ONE suck ass slow Spanish pg was pure stupidity. So when it comes to business as far as having a terrible player with a terrible contract in Diop and doing this dumb ass trade our teams business experts are posers and they have no fucking idea what they are doing.
If the Bobcats keep making dumb ass moves like this out of desperation they WILL be a LOTTERY team next season!!!

Foolish children. Don't you realise MJ is going to play Ajinca at the 5.
Calderon/DJ
Jax/Hendo
Wallace/UPS/Domo
TT/Evans
Ajinca/Nazzy/Diop
Ajinca for all-star.
Sarcasm aside, I would not give TC and Diaw for Calderon. Diop+Diaw yes, TC no.

No one seems to wrap their head around what MJ is doing here. TC *when healthy* is great no doubt, but he cant stay healthy. we trade him "for nothing" and get INSTANT cap relief, instead of waiting until next off season. This puts us in play with the full MLE and some min salary signings without hitting the cap, which is jordans goal. Having read the way he talks I think he wants to see 5th seed under the tax, and he's willing to go into the tax for home court advantage, and frankly it's HIS money so I don't blame him a bit. Just $1 into the tax doesn't just cost us that dollar in even money for the tax, because there is the "shared wealth" in the NBA, that is, the tax dollars from all the crazy spenders like LA gets split between the non-tax paying teams. This is several million bux a year.
So we'll have MLE to use or, if we choose to, we have a trade exception for the amount of money we didnt take back, which in this case is in the 8 mil or so range I think. So we could then perhaps find a team who wants to dump salary and take a good player from them using the TPE we have from Raja and Chandler. I'm personally thinking MJ is going to use the MLE on a UFA or RFA (less likely) and get us something good here. MJ is NOT short sighted, there is a reason for every single thing he does.
disagree with the notion that when healthy tyson is valuable. based on his pay, not even close. he is terrible offensively and on the boards. shot blocking/guarding the rim he is great/excellent. that said we don't have much to lose by holding on to him. unless we can get him for a good youngin and TPE of 10 mil, hold on to him. IF he stays healthy and helps through the season we can still trade him in July as an expiring. if we aren't in the hunt like we thought we were he has immense value going into a lockout year in Feb. or maybe someone gets desperate early in the season. either way, the deal i spent 75% of workday following yesterday is thankfully looking like it dissolved.

Tyson Chandler is a JOKE. The fact that he's the highest paid Bobcat is laughable. He's done NOTHING since he's been here but look like a bumbling idiot on the court when he's healthy enough to even suit up. This franchise is a hell of a lot better without him. Whether he's on the team or traded, the fact remains: Our big men SUCK.

Tex has it right. TC is our best defensive C by far. We're going from one of the best Ds in the League back to the middle of the pack...and I don't see Caleron's extra 3 here and there helping to offset the difference.
Unless they bring in a post presence to take some pressure off the offense will still have a hard time.

In our 4 playoff games there weren't many positives for our Bobcats. One however really stood out; we played Dwight better than any other team had played in in the offseason.
Do you think that was Nazr's doing or Theo's?
According to Bonnell:
Even if the Bobcats waive Dampier, they still have plenty of centers. Nazr Mohammed started 29 games last season, and the team needs to get more out of Gana Diop, acquired in a previous deal with the Mavericks that involved Carroll.
If I didn't love this team so much I'd pull for us going into the season with only Nazr & Gana as our Cs just so people would realize exactly what TC did.
Seriously...did no one watch Gana last year?

The defense of Tyson makes my head hurt. Last year if he wasn't injured he was on the bench for the first half of the game in foul trouble. Tyson may have been our best starting center. But thats the same as saying Diaw was our best starting PF. They both suck, Best on the team or not. The pear analogy was perfect.
Why is anyone worried we have erick dampier now

I really want to see Diop play some major minutes. First year he came over I never saw a big drop off from Oak to Gana or Nazr. Last year people ragged him hard for not playing but every time he got significant minutes it was "oh he actually did pretty well." His value can only go up by playing.
well it certainly can't go down. we can always hope for a catastrophic injury which forces retirement and we get out of his contract. just kidding, kind of. in all seriousness, if he could play he would be playing. he is terrible. no way the owners and gm's let a 7 mil multi year player DNP-no dress the last 25% of the season.

I'd honestly be fine re-signing Theo and going Nazr, Theo, Diop as our center if we can't land anything better. Cut Dampier and stay under the luxury tax.

diop has always been dead offensively. he has no skills to score. nazr has had a decent offensive game his whole career. he has a reliable shot and 1 decent post move. with TT and diop playing major minutes, we would be putting even more pressure on crash and jax to score.

I actually think Nazr can hold his own for us at the 5 spot. Last season he had a good string of games where Tyson was out. I remember one where he had 20+ pts and 20+ rebounds.
Only question with him is durablity. Tyson didn't even play much in the playoffs so I'm not sweating his loss too much. A sevicable big man to back up Nazr would work bc I don't trust Diop as far as I could throw him. And he's a big dude lol
