View Full Version : Just keep Boris and just add a backup PG somehow.....

We don't need to be screwed over by the Raptors or anyone else with some lousy trade.

Boris Diaw + DJ Augustin = enough of a "Point Guard" presence in the starting 5, with Raymond Felton now gone.

Add a backup PG through a minor trade, sign Sherron Collins as insurance, and if we get into trouble, just initiate the offense through Jack or Boris.

Thoughts?

I still say resign Flip, Split him abd DJ between PG and work Hendo into the rotation, maybe on a couple of plays move Jack to the 3 and Crash to the 4. Just an idea.

Let's just wait and see what the team plans to do. Free agency just started and there will be a lot of players going to new teams before the summer ends.

I read MJ is dragging his heels on the trade, probably wants more, like maybe a pick (we could use a 2012 first to cover the one the chicago gets then, being they can't have next year's due to us giving up this years).

:kingofpop:This is what the idea of Diaw leaving does to me.

If we go that route Bynum is on the market .
Sessions and Beasley for Borris works
Monta for Boris and Hendo works

Then thairs the free agent market with dozens of points

Our back is not against the wall with expirings . Its no need to get screwed
With about 10 milion left we can spend its a lot left we can go after .

Flip, B Miller , Stackhouse , Bynum, dozens more . When we holding the cards its no need to panic.

Diaw is an asset; figure it out - Bonnell (http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_nba/2010/07/diaw-is-an-asset-figure-it-out.html)

Also catch Rick's "prediction" in the 4th comment.

My son (a promising first baseman at Myers Park High)

Really Rick? My mom's son doesn't give a shit about your son, where he goes to school, or what sport he plays.

Now, Steven, you know Mr. Bonnell has to brag on his son! He got promoted from the special needs class and they let him be the backup first baseman! With this progress, Ricky's boy will be in the All-Star Game in a few short years!

You cant keep paying mediocre players lots of money. We love to do that! You cant sign Tyrus to a long term deal and then keep paying Diaw 9 Mil. a year to chill on the bench. He is an asset... so lets get something for him! We have holes at 2 BIG positions at PG and C. and Diaw is expendable. He has to go.

I dont want to trade him for someone like Calderon though. Calderon isnt a big upgrade over who we have right now in DJ, and at some point you have to see whether DJ (who was the 9th pick in the draft, ahead of Brook Lopez) can play. Calderon isnt 6 or 7 Mil. better than DJ is, so why would we up and give him that kind of money.

Jast sayin...

Is he also "name-dropping" Myers Park?

The best of the free agents are already signed. So that tells me that the Bobcats are likely looking at making a few trades. I rather they take their time than to rush into something just to please us. I look forward to next season and I hope we can put an even better team than we had on the floor last year. There are positions on the team that need to be filled and I figure Larry Brown and M.J. have a few names they would like to see in those. Until then, I will watch a little baseball, get ready for some football, and then Bobcats basketball. My biggest concern right now is for them to figure out how to get more games televised so I can watch.

Keeping the softy that is Doris should not be in our gameplan. After signing T2, I think that put the writing on the wall for Diaw. Diaw will help get us something as part of a package trade, and though it is only July, I have faith that the front office is working the lines with Dampier + Diaw + some other pieces to net us a C and PG.

It obvious the team is trying to trade Boris, hell they almost did. My guess is they'll keep shopping him around as long as they can and if they can't find anything they like he'll be on the roster when the season starts, and be one hell of a bench player or *gasp* our starting point guard.
