I don't see whats so good about this. We are stuck with the worst PF ever and we still don't have a starting PG. :(:(

TC and Boris are worth more than what we were getting back. Everyone on both sides (especially Toronto fans per their message board) new we were getting raped.

I have just been informed by a friend of mine who's brother works for the cats. He said don't believe the media much today as the trade discussions could go until thursday. An they were called in to work late last night.... Something bout trying to lock up a center for the next 5 years. I think Toronto is step number 1

There is a lot of concern in that statement if that is their goal.
There is not a single center on this team or in the free agent pool that I would want to remotely hand over a 5 year deal to.
Must be a center under contract for another team who is looking for an extension to his current deal.

Let me rephrase that when he told me that he mean like a young center who could start and be good for us for the next five years....question is who

Toronto radio reporting (some speculation) that only TC and Jose part of the deal is really dead. Diaw and Reggie Evans still in play but they will have to re-start at square one. Jordan perhaps got an 11th hour call from another team offering more for TC (specualtion by them).

ESPN.com sources say two key reasons why Bobs pulled out of trade: Calderon has 10-percent trade kicker and Larry Brown didn't like deal half a minute ago via TweetDeck

Man I'm proud of MJ for pulling the plug on that deal. With the economy and teams looking at the lockout next year, I KNOW TC and his expiring have far greater value than what we were being offered back.
I just wish I knew WTF we are ultimately trying to do... Or who it is we're really trying to get. I don't remember any young centers out there that would come right in and play, that we could lock up for 5 years, AND is available for trade from his current team.
Only one I can think of now that Jefferson is off the market is Kaman - But, he's like 28, so what do they consider young? I would love a move for Kaman though.

I feel like Al Jeff is the one that they are trying to nail down. The deal with Toronto yesterday was while Jefferson was more available, and then our deal got put on hold as the Jazz moved into position to snag him up. Now, the Jazz deal is almost done, but not yet... and ours is in re-group mode. Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist or connect some imaginary dots. Shit, with this kind of information, could I not be an "unconfirmed source" since I'm doing pretty much what most of the supposed media is doing..... I'll start a twitter account if need be to make it seem more official. :g:

LOL, I said it the whole day yesterday... We could've lived with a Diaw for Calderon, or Diaw for whatever, but to just give them away for guys Toronto doesn't want... SMH, would've been by far the dumbest move we've ever made.
I think we are just desperate to make a move considering how close it came to happening.
Calderon is Toronto's version of Diop.

my guess too. maybe the clips are trying to make a big move through FA next year or 2012? others:

Wtf???? Espn bottomline just reported that we turned down chandler, diaw for turkoglu, calderon, and evans!?!?!?
Wow.
EDIT: Those idiots at ESPN aren't even checking what they type up... I'm 99% sure that the Bottomline said Turkoglu, Calderon, and Evans to the Bobcats b/c the blurb only mentioned us and the Raps... They didn't mention the Suns at all. I looked up the write-up on ESPN.com to double check if we turned down Turkoglu and it still said he was heading to Phoenix... Idiots...

Though this wasn't the right trade, I still think we need to make one. Soon.
I know we have better PFs than Cs, but I think going for a trade with the the Pacers to get Murphy might be our best option.
Perhaps a trade including TJ Ford (I know he's not great either, but he'd give DJ a run for his money) could be possible.

lol, that would have been worse than calderon for Diaw, Chandler. Hedo is a scrub with the worst contract in the league

Yeah, I was just shocked b/c all of a sudden they said we were offered Turkoglu... But, of course, in typical ESPN style, it was a misprint (-type in this case)...

From Hoopshype:
There are no indications what Colangelo might do now with either Calderon or Evans, but league sources indicate at least one Eastern Conference team remains quite interested in obtaining Calderon, the 28-year-old point guard who has spent his entire five-year NBA career with the Raptors. League officials insist the other part of Colangelo’s grand remake — Hedo Turkoglu to Phoenix for Leandro Barbosa — will go through with no worries but it has not advanced far enough to be considered officially completed. Other sources suggest Bobcats owner Michael Jordan got cold feet after the deal had been agreed to by Colangelo and Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins. However, league sources also say Higgins would not likely have agreed to a trade without at least apprising Jordan of what was going on. Toronto Star

I love Larry Brown!
I knew Caleron wasn't an LB type of PG. Weak, easily injured and can't guard a chair.

I knew he wouldn't like losing TC. He was our only freaking C that could set a pick.
What we're going thru now is why LB was so hesitant about coming back. He's losing one of the best defenses in the league because of salary cutting.
