There is carolinahuddle, panthersfreaks that I know of. Would there be interest in a PanthersPlanet?

Just dayreaming on things while eating this overpriced undercooked lunch.

Absolutely, the Huddle one is full of self-absored nutjobs.

You might want to talk to John White of Cat Crave Radio, I don't think he has a forum but his show is full of stuff.

I'm a Bucs fan, but living in NC I hear Panthers talk a lot and still like to discuss football so I'd join. Hopefully their would be a rivals forum or somewhere to talk about news around the NFL as well

I have been on the Huddle for a while, but find it hard to join conversations at times.

If there is enough interest, I can create a dedicated PanthersPlanet.com before the season cranks up.

I bought the domain PanthersPlanet.com a year or so ago, but never did anything serious with it. there used to be a PanthersPlanet.net that grew pretty large, but the admin abandoned it and now it points to a Japanese site

I hate the Huddle site, Those folk can suck the hair off my nut sack. I'm all for a Panthers Planet.....One queston, Would Bobcats Planet members have to start over or would my post count be able to be transfer from one site to the other??

Hmmm, I haven't thought that far ahead yet. I could probably import the member info. Post counts, I'm not too sure about though.

I'll figure that out as I think through it a little more.

Ziggy, You should invite them to be writers for Panthers Planet.

That'd be great. I'm sure Dustin and I could write, and Big Cat too.

PP Radio isn't too catchy though.

After thinking on it some more, I'm leaning towards not cranking up PanthersPlanet. Doing a blog would be easy, But getting an active forum up and going is a much bigger and more challenging task.

Plus I don't want it to take away from some of the things that I have in mind for this site

I'll keep hanging onto that domain though in case something changes my mind.

I suppose what you could do, is combine the two. Basically you would have two sections, one of Panthers forum and one of Bobcats. But it's your call, and I know crapall about NFL . I have played a few NFL games in my life though and watched the superbowl a few times, looks pretty fun but stagnant.

Didn't come across this one until just now, but I'm all for a Panthers Planet. Not nearly as big a football fan as basketball anymore, but if the site is ziggy owned and operated, I think it'd be fun as hell, especially if we get nice crossover from our BCP brethren.

I think a good Panthers site is in order. I think you could set the blog / site up and use this installation of VB as the forum. Create a category with your Panthers forums in it and from the blog link directly to that Panthers category so people won't be confused. Save money, use what you have.

First post here...

I would totally be down for a good panthers board. The only one with constant traffic is the huddle, but as mentioned it is a very tough place to have decent convos about Carolina sports. That's one reason I decided to join here. Panthers Planet is a great idea

And linking it to here would totally create high use

I'll go wherever to have good conversation on my teams. And if it is at one site, all the better.

Welcome to BCP Bdive.

Although I don't think that a new Panthers forum can compete with Carolina Huddle and some of the other large Panthers forums, I am definitely willing to crank up the Panthers talk here among the members of our site. I'll make a focused effort on cranking up the Panthers talk starting with this week's game thread which should be posted in 3...2...1...

Still bouncing around this idea of a dedicated Panther forum. :g:

Speaking hypothetically, If I were to crank it up, are there any of you here that are passionate enough about the Panthers to volunteer to help moderate it and keep it active?

The first few months of a forum's life are usually by far the most challenging.

As much as I could, I would.

As the BCP moderator of the year, for 8 years running, I'd like to offer my services. I may not be as knowledgeable as many as far as the Panthers go, but I went over to CarolinaHuddle to look around and trust me, it wouldn't take much to be better than that.

You need a quick link on the top menu for the PanthersPlanet (and on that top menu for BCP).

It would also be better if you could get the Panthers to engage in a brawl this weekend to peak the interest, since the NFC Championship loss to Arizona, they have steadily become more and more difficult to watch on a weekly basis. Maybe put a ref/opposing player in the figure four, full nelson, pile driver...you see where I'm heading.

Maybe I can get Jimmy Clausen to have an awful game, throw about 5 picks then in the 4th quarter he could rip off his jersey and have a Seahawks Jersey underneath it. Sort of NWO-WCW style
