So they're waiting to do the trade until after the charity dinner and basketball camp? I can live with that.

That article wasnt really a gamechanger.
He hardly offered anything up. Honestly...if the guy isnt watching his team in summer league, and didnt answer questions about Bower...more or less it sounded like he was dodging bullets while promoting his camp.

Then I would dearly love to get Collison if NO is so inclined.

What is he gonna tell the media on a conference call that 'I'm tired of this place, I demand a trade!' before he tells the front office? He's not Lebron...

alright lets say cp3 is staying put. how about a combo trade made from two posts on this board.
trade 1: trying to work it out on the machine
dampier for peja + collison
dj, hendo, ups for posey + #2 draft pick
then
diop + boris + that 900k pf for gilbert arenas + nick young
or
diop + boris for arenas + #1 draft pick top 7 protected
here is the thing. gilbert is the sg. no way is can he run our offense. collison controls the tempo and the ball.
collison/gilbert/livingston
gilbert/jax/nick young
crash/jax/peja/posey
tt/edwardo/posey/crash
nazr/tt
further moves would be maybe turning jax into a center. holding on until feb and using peja's 14 mil expiring for center back up or in combo with jax for more.
is it a huge huge risk yes. do i like it, no. would i be intrigued going into the season yes. would it give us something to talk about, absolutely. if gil stayed healthy could we beat miami, boston or orlando, we would have better than a puncher's chance.

George Shinn is probably less inclined to move Collison on his rookie contract than even CP3. Collison is probably a top 15-20 PG in the league and doesn't start only because of CP3 and they can pay him 20% of his value for the next 3-4 years.
If Shinn moves CP3 (for say....Dampier's contract) he gets to save money now...albeit his ticket sales will suffer slightly, he has a PG in place to hold down the fort.

Nothing has changed...that article is chin music to the New Orlean's faithful. The reporter probably has a son/daughter that was pleading with him to put something in print that CP3 was staying.
Besides...it's LB, you know if you had to take the over/under on the number of rosters spots that will still change between now and opening night is probably at least 4. And I'd take the Over (Damp and Diaw are most likely gone and each may take a player or two with them to make the numbers work). Not to mention the diamond in the rough free agent signing (see Flip Murrary and Stevie Graham last year, Shannon Brown the year before).
