Nah, this thread is ok.
Crash with a nice block, though it didn't count. And a layup.
He's shooting too many threes though.

Was hoping Gerald would knock down one of those 3's and impress the crowd with how much his game has grown since they probably saw him last with Sacramento.
And I say it prolly once a day, but we better get a great player back for the pieces we got from the Mavs, b/c Chandler is looking great out there and we have a gaping hole at the 5.

Crash needs to be more involved...he just hangs around the perimeter.

He still needs to rest from last year.

Not sure if this link made it in the other thread...but coming into tonight's scrimmage, it looks like GW was on the team and off the bubble.

Gerald Wallace (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=1026), F
Much like the Rose-Rondo conundrum, the Wallace/Iguodala/Granger similarities will bear watching in New York. Size and defensive tenacity work in his favor.
the 2 others were on the bubble...
Andre Iguodala, F
Makes this portion of the list only because he has the most to lose with a bad performance Saturday night, especially if Green plays well. His defensive abilities weigh heavily in his favor.
Danny Granger (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=2760), F
He was a pure bubble guy until Friday, when he was consistently knocking down 3-pointers in scrimmages after sitting out the previous day to rest a bruised shin. He needs to outshine Andre Iguodala (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=2386) on Saturday to keep up the positive vibe.

2 things:
1) We better get CP3 afer watching TC in this game.
2) We need to get a center somehow, regardless of the CP3 deal... We lost a lot when TC is healthy, so there better be a big payback with what we're ultimately gonna get.

I will be too.....HORRIBLE move based on the way Tyson looks now. He is healthy right now and looks good......there's no telling if he will stay like that but judging by the way he looks tonight we should not have traded him for Dampier :(

when make the cut?
24-36 hours from last night's game..so probably sometime today/tonight
Interview with Gerald after the game, he talked about how he's not used to the international basketball and how the coaches encouraged him to shoot the 3's (LB is probably sitting on his couch screaming No NO NOOOO).

I figured as much. D'Antoni and Coach K both advocate shooting the 3 so its no surprise. Gerald looked reluctant each time he got the ball in the corner too lol
But seriously though, its contract year for Tyson Chandler and he's had an entire year to 'rest' so I'd expect as much from in an exhibition game and every chance he gets coming off of the mavs bench. I can't even remember the last time Chandler caught the ball and finished. Good luck to him, hope he gets paid, but I feel sorry for the poor team that signs him to a new contract.

Not the Chris Sheridan opinion means anything, but he predicts GW will be one of 4 people cut in next day from Team USA.
http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/18536/team-usa-to-cut-4-players-by-monday
Gerald Wallace: If anyone Saturday night played himself off the 15-man roster for training camp in New York, it was him. No rebounds, no blocks, no steals, 0-for-4 on 3s in 12:27 of playing time.

It's expected that Crash will be cut... I don't get it though b/c they told him to jack up the 3's and he missed them... No one else thye have can play defense and rebound like Gerald, and few can finish at the rim like him, besides Durant.

ya that scrimmage was BS. if tyson chandler gets 13 pts and 9 rebs its gotta be a joke. that scrub should definitely not even have got an invite. i think everyone knows gerald SHOULD be on the team but he just kinda got the shaft. o well, rather him healthy but man i woulda loved to watch him play in instanbull

i wanna puke knowing tyson chandler made the 1st cuts. but im glad gerald will be resting and hopefully it gives him a chip on his shoulder and he elevates his game higher than he already has. idk if thats possible, but were gonna depend on gw3 and jax more then we already have.

Yeah, seriously? What is he talking about?
Did any Denver Nuggets make the roster? By this reasoning, wouldn't Chauncey have just as much of a Carolina Connection as Gerald?
Stop usurping players' college allegiances! (Not that Gerald has ANY college allegiances...)

Like others have wrote before, Gerald's play doesn't translate well to these "ensemble" performances as we saw in the ASG in Dallas. He's a "real game" performer, and I would't have it any other way.
And anyway, fuck Coach K........always good to get that in there any chance I get :p

So what's the over/under on how many of the 15 remaining USA players Gerald dunks on during a real NBA game this upcoming season:
Players: Rose, Billups, Westbrook, Rondo, Curry, Gordon, Durant, Iguodala, Gay, Granger, Odom, Love, Jeff Green, Chandler and Lopez.
Dunks on 8? I'd take the over
Blocks their shot 10? I'd take the over

It's funny, because lots of NBA players play with an "exhibition game" attitude during the regular season. I can't think of a time (outside of maybe the Year of the FHB - but Gerald never understood what that guy was about anyway) when I've seen Gerald not really try hard. He always tries hard in the regular season and those two playoff games.
He's just taking full advantage of the fact that the blue-white game didn't matter one bit. I have a hard time believing he didn't show something in practice, though.

I'm glad in a way Gdub got cut. Allows him to rest up a bit more from the season as he's pretty banged up. The Europeans are happy too, none of them would of wanted his groin in their face when he dunks over them.

I'm not surprised by this at all. Not only is Wallace's game completely incompatible with FIBA ball, he doesn't fit into the coaching styles of D'Antoni or Coach K - you could see the look on his face after he took that 2nd three, he didn't fit in with Team USA's style and he knew it.
Still, this is good news for everyone in the long run. Wallace got some work in with some really talented guys and he doesn't get banged up playing international ball. Win/Win.
