Never thought this was poss. But i guess with M.J. amd L.B. any thing is. Do you guys think theres any roots to this or is it just another beat writer beating a story out of a dead horse??

I think it would have been one of those "we'll cut brown loose, you sign him, but as part of the agreement you send us blah blah draft pick for $1" As I understand you can't trade coaches, but their contracts have "no compete" clauses where they can't work as a coach if they terminate without paying, in this case jordan would waive the no compete on the condition that he gets some draft picks...which then invokes the NBA rule that you cant trade something for nothing, but you can trade picks for cash considerations, in this case $1 as the token cash consideration to make it legal. Its about as complicated as the multi trade deals we're all dreaming about to get CP3.

If a coach is under contract the team they are contracted with has the right to ask for compensation...not really a trade but it has happened a few times...just can't remember what coaches were involved...

Miami Heat/Orlando Magic - Stan Van Gundy.

I don't think this is unusual.

Actually you can't in the NFL any longer. The owners changed that after the Oakland-Tampa-Gruden fiasco.
