Could we use Damp or Diaw? I know we have Jack, but he's 32 or 33 now, so we at least have to think about the future... I've always loved his game, but realistically I see us going in the season with the roster as is... *vomit*

i love jr's game too, and he's a tremendous scoring option off the bench. just idk how his attitude would pan out. but he could start once jax leaves. im guessing diaw isnt who they want since they signed al harrington in offseason as backup pf but salary cap relief with damp could work. epsicially since they just got rid of their VP.

Probably not a "Larry Brown" player but forget that I would love to bring him in. I would take K-mart off their hands too if were are trading Dampier and they want to dump money.

I would strongly consider him, but would definitely be cautious. I'd want to make sure LB felt he was a player who will buy into his system.

I would be interested because of his outside game.

He also has played PG for them in a pinch or for matchup reasons. And BTW, if he's been able to play for George Karl, I think he could make it here. I'm just throwing it out there for our entertainment though b/c if the majority of us like it, it's not going to happen lol.

J.R. at pg!? eurghhhh but is he an upgrade over Jax? If we were to trade jax, what would we get in return? However i know jax wants to stay, he has already agreed that he will write a blog on bobcats.com next season, so he obviously expects to be here

Only way I bring JR in is if we send Jax out in the deal as the two are way too similar to have together.

No way in hell would I include Jackson in a deal to land Smith.

I would've loved JR on the Bobcats 2 or 3 years ago...

If the Nuggets had a big man I liked more that they could include in a deal for JR I would give up Jackson, but besides Carmelo, they dont have anyone that really interests me.
Are you guys actually saying you would prefer JR Smith to SJax? You have got to be kidding me. I must be misunderstanding you...
JR Smith is a decent talent who also is a headcase. Either way, I don't want him.

Why waste whatever limited trade assets to acquire a backup at a position where you have a fringe all-star when there's clearly bigger needs. Smith's fun to watch, but not a championship piece

I'm not advocating for JR to replace Jack, I'm saying the two are redundant. Acquiring JR doesn't make any sense unless Jack leaves in whatever deal.
Now if we did something like Jack and Diop/Nazr for JR and Nene, I'd be down. Otherwise, we have no place for him.

Nooo not at all.
But if the Nuggets had a Center who was as good as Jackson, I would trade Jackson to get him along with J.R Smith. As much as I love Jackson, I dont think his value will ever be higher than it is right now, and if we could get something that is good enough for him, I wouldnt mind moving him.
I know thats kind of random but whatever. lol

Not Nazr. Diop, sure, but not Naz.

At this point you take any offer with Diop in it and run.

JR Smith would be nice to have coming off the bench plus he is in the final year of his contract so he would be playing with a purpose(trying to get a new big $ contract) but definitely not worth trading SJax.

I agree with this. This is probably our last chance to trade Jax for anything of value before that window closes for good. He's got maybe one more really good year left in him, and this year probably won't be as good as last year. He'll be in a steady decline from here on out, still a solid player, but not worth the money he'll be making the last 2 years of his deal, during which time he will be unmovable. I say all that to say, if we can get a quality player for him and address a need, we should do it. I've been beating the JR Smith drum all summer so if we landed him as part of a bigger deal involving Jax I wouldn't complain about it.

Sept 13 th mark it down , It gets both teams out of Tax Hell
Lawson our point , Anderson a pf , center who loves to bang, Smith a solid back up to Jax , He was once sixth man of the year, Balkman for money reasons
Our Dust chip and the Hammer
This will allow Denver to make a run for CP3 and one more max deal With Nane and MELLOW it would be a solid move for Denver.
It makes too much sence for both teams to do . Watch Sept 13th

I would do that in a heartbeat, just because of how awesome the Birdman is.

+1. I'd take him if he was our backup SG. Can we trade them Matt Carroll or Diop for him? :) I know wishful thinking.

A huge talent, but too many character issues. He's also a terrible chucker that ironically accused his teammates of not playing "team ball". Tyrus, Jax, and Smith would spell disaster.

birdman is a huge fan favorite over in denver....i like all these denver trades, but when its all said an done, the nuggets already have these players as expirings...billups, JR, kmart...thats a lot coming off the books as it is
so to get nene or birdman, i just dont think we have enough to offer
The only way I see Smith here is if Denver includes a PG in the deal...

Run away from JR Smith
This from ESPN rumors a couple hours ago:
Sam Amick of FanHouse (http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/08/25/police-j-r-smith-involved-in-altercation-at-nuggets-practice-f/) reported Wednesday night that Denver guard J.R. Smith (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=2444) was involved in an altercation at the team's practice facility on Aug. 13.
"We did have a report of an altercation that took place at the Denver Nuggets (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=den)' practice facility," said Detective John White of the Denver Police Department Wednesday. "That case was investigated and ultimately presented to the district attorney's office. ... Ultimately, the district attorney's office, after being presented with the findings by the Denver Police Department, decided not to pursue charges.
"We were called to that location about an incident possibly involving Mr. Smith. When we got there, the officers conducted their investigation. It did involve Mr. Smith."
Reportedly a player, not in the NBA, was told by Nuggets coaches to be rough with Smith during some drills.
"They were just wanting the guy to be physical with J.R., telling the other guys, 'Hey, body up on the guys and really make them work,' " a source told Amick. "J.R. just lost it. He tried to choke the kid, and the kid called the cops."
The Nuggets are shopping Smith and this likely won't help them find a taker for the troubled guard.

Not Nazr. Diop, sure, but not Naz.Nazr is an expiring and it is not likely ANYBODY wants to be tied down to our garbage "Diop" for a few seasons. If we are going to get anything worth a flip in a trade I am sure the only C we have that will work is Nazr.
