NBA.com gives us a "C" grade for the offseason. I guess the final grade should depend on what we do with Dampier. I guess they forgot about the signing of Livingston. You all agree with their analysis?

About right to be honest, if you look at the other rankings i think only Toronto, Cavs and Kings are worse than us. (thats only from memory) SO we havent done great in the eyes of the NBA... or me. But you are correct we must wait to see what Dampier turns into.

Overall grade is appropriate (pending Dust movement).
The grading didn't make sense for Defense (if you look at only the summer movements, it makes sense) but if it is the Bobcats position in the league now, I think they deserve an A, after all they had the best Defense in the League last season.
The reason I think some of their grading is how things stand right now, is if you look at Golden State's grade, they received an F for Defense, which is well deserved for their cumulative work. The did however, add David Lee over the summer which should have at least given them a C (if the grades are only suppose to reflect their summer activity).

Sounds about fair to me. Most moves we were considering would have made us worse, not better.

I agree with the C grade for now. If we move Dampier for a player to really improve us, the grade goes up. If we just cut him for the salary relief, it stays a C.
i would even be ok with a D for overpaying the largely unproven and highly questionable tyrus thomas. but, if he plays to his potential (big if) the contract will actually be a huge deal.
